About the role:

We have a new opportunity for a highly organised individual to join our Housing Services Team, as a Housing Services & Income Administrator. With proven skills and experience of using IT and databases related to administrative tasks such as producing letters and reports with a clear focus on organisation skills, you will play an essential role with supporting the Housing Services team and Manager, and our supported accommodation teams.

In your role, you will be responsible for

• Maximising rental income and minimising loss through bad debts through efficient application SHP Procedures.
• Supporting the housing services team, and accommodation services teams to ensure that clients receive timely rent statement and letters.
• Maintaining effective management of accurate rent income records.
• Collating performance returns against KPI’s and provider monitoring returns.

The role will also require supporting the Senior Housing Services and Income Officers in dealing with repairs and building related matters, anti-social behaviour, complaints and neighbourhood disputes.

We are currently operating a blended working arrangement, that includes working from our Head Office in Kings Cross for a minimum of 3 days per week, as well as flexible occasional travel to our accommodation services across London. There is also some potential for home working, in agreement with the Head of Property Services.

The weekly working hours are 37.5 hrs, to be completed between 9am-5pm Mon- Fri, with occasional need to work outside of these times in the event of an emergency.

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
• Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
• To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
• To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
• To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
• Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.

Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. Reporting, location, and work hours

Working closely with the CEO, the Audit, Finance and Risk (AFR) Committee and the Board, the Finance & Corporate Services Manager is responsible for the financial management of the charity on a strategic and operational level, and supports our corporate, HR and ICT functions. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this position provides leadership and support to the wider team, and line management of the Finance & Corporate Services Officer. Other duties include monthly payroll, monthly management accounts and reports, annual budget and audit, and supporting our team with HR, ICT and office requirements.

You will be an experienced senior manager with at least 4-5 years of experience in finance within the charity sector and providing back-office support. An accountancy qualification is essential, as is knowledge of SORP.

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of the issues as they relate to Carers.  They will have experience of giving information and advice, particularly welfare benefits, as well as advocating on behalf of another and providing one to one support. They will have excellent communication and IT skills, and a commitment to working in the voluntary sector. In addition, they will have experience of project development, delivering frontline services and supervising staff.

The Senior Volunteering Officer will help us to explore and develop new approaches to volunteering within the NHS. This role is focused on supporting our volunteers that are based within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust services across the North West London Community and to develop new volunteering roles that focus on health challenges within the community.

You’ll provide a high quality experience to volunteers that are located within our community sites, by working with Trust staff and partner organisations to develop new roles that improve the experience to our patients within these clinical services, to identify new locations and roles, to develop our volunteering offer within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

This role will work with the Trust to develop new approaches to volunteering, with a particular focus on designing, launching and evaluating volunteer roles that could bring system change to wider health inequalities.

Additionally, you’ll focus on our volunteer community, ensuring that our volunteer community is as representative of the wider population, and seek to engage groups with a particular focus on the Core20plus5 groups.

Work in partnership with wider charity teams, to identify areas to link up work around the population health programme of work and identify appropriate volunteering opportunities
