Job Description:

The post will include but is not limited to:

  • Bringing support, direction and opportunities of growth and learning in your management of the HR Administrator, and together, delivering HR services to the highest possible standards
  • Working innovatively under the direction of the Director of Operations to identify areas of improvement and to develop and roll-out changes
  • Coordinating our safer recruitment strategies, ensuring all relevant DBS checks are carried out and staying informed of changes in safer recruitment practice.
  • Raising Mercy UK’s employer profile within the Christian community to attract the best possible talent
  • Maintaining oversight of end to end recruitment, onboarding and induction processes to ensure an outstanding employee experience from beginning to end
  • Managing our payroll and pension processes to ensure excellence and efficiency
  • Contributing to the management and analysis of our income and expenditure in relation to HR and contributing to the financial forecasting, planning and monitoring of costs
  • Monitoring and analysing metrics, KPIs and strategic enquiry relating to HR and producing reports to demonstrate results, key learnings and recommendations.
  • Educating and equipping our managers and wider staff team, through your enthusiastic and informative training on key policies, processes and working practices.
  • Equipping and empowering managers to effectively, efficiently and ethically manage their teams, ensuring that team members have access to personal and professional development plans.
  • Providing guidance, advice and coaching to managers in resolving challenging employee relations matters, including investigations and appeals in processes such as, but not limited to, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance management.
  • Ensuring that employee data is processed in line with relevant regulatory requirements, consulting as required with the Data Protection Lead, the Operations Director
  • Promoting understanding of health and safety across the team and serving as the Health & Safety Officer for the Cornerstone building
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and excellent execution of our HR responsibilities and providing guidance and accountability in the planning and implementation of our HR plans.
  • Presenting the vision and mission of Mercy UK and being willing to deliver training to Christian audiences of all denominations and backgrounds as well as bringing an example of healthy Christian leadership in line with Mercy UK’s statement of faith and lifestyle policies.
  • Remaining discerning, innovative and open to change, offering your skills and support across the charity, as needed.
  • Undertake continued training, be an active participant and show commitment to personal and spiritual development.
  • Adhere to ethical practice, strict confidentiality, disclosure and safeguarding policies and use discretion at all times.
