Job description

The Talent Set is  delighted to be working on this Major Donor Manager role with Chance to Shine.

Chance to Shine is a children's charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in the UK through the power of cricket. Their mission is to ensure all young people have the opportunity to play, learn, and develop through the sport, fostering a love for the game, a sense of belonging, and essential life skills.
Established in 2005, they have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, free cricket programs to young people aged 5-24 in state schools and under-served communities. They are committed to reaching those who might not otherwise have the chance to play, helping them fulfil their potential.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Chance to Shine during a period of significant growth. Their aim is to reach one million young people annually by 2028, and income growth is central to achieving this ambitious goal. As our Major Donor Manager, you will play a critical role in driving this expansion.
Working from a warm base of contacts, you'll be an energetic and ambitious fundraiser, bringing structured planning and strong relationship management skills to significantly enhance our major donor fundraising potential. With dedicated support from the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Board of Trustees, this is an exceptional chance to take on a career-defining role within a highly regarded and well-run charity.

Key Responsibilities
As Major Donor Manager, you will lead the mid-value and major donor fundraising efforts, developing strategies to secure vital funding from high-net-worth individuals. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • New Donor Cultivation
  • Relationship Management
  • Data Management
  • Line Management of the fundraising officer

We are looking for:

  • Proven track record of securing 5 and 6-figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals in the charitable or commercial sector.
  • A demonstrable passion and connection to the mission of Chance to Shine.
  • Experience working with Trustee boards, senior volunteers, and/or development committees to secure funding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We are working with a very quick turnaround on this role with interviews scheduled for the 26th June or the 30th June. Please get in touch by the midday of Friday 20th of June.

To be considered for this position please apply with your CV as soon as possible, regrettably please note we may not be able to reply to each and every application.

We are committed to diverse and inclusive recruitment practices that ensure equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of race, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age or gender. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and will happily make reasonable adjustments to always ensure a fair process.
