The Head of Development and Supporter Operations will play a critical role in providing strategic leadership and operational excellence to development and supporter operations. With expertise in strategic fundraising strategy and operational excellence, the role will shape objectives and ambitions for significant income growth, contributing to ZSL's vision of ensuring people and wildlife thrive.

Key responsibilities

* You will lead and manage key senior operational roles within the Development and Supporter Operations department and hold relationships with key stakeholders across ZSL.
* You will implement a comprehensive strategy across all operations functions within the development team to support ZSL's strategic objectives for income growth.
* You will drive operational excellence across all functions, including donor stewardship, event management, prospect management, writing and project development, and data management, to enhance supporter engagement and maximise fundraising opportunities.
* You will establish performance metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of operational functions and conduct regular evaluations to identify areas for improvement and optimisation, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* You will collaborate closely with ZSL's IT teams to ensure that data and systems requirements are met effectively to support fundraising operations and foster integration and alignment of operational functions with broader organisational goals and strategies.

The Head of Development and Supporter Operations will have proven experience in senior roles within the nonprofit sector with a focus on development operations and supporter engagement. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and team management qualities with a track record in effectively leading and motivating teams to achieve organisational goals. You will have expertise in donor stewardship, event management, prospect management, fundraising writing, and data management. You will have experience in managing large-scale projects and implementing organisational change initiatives.

You will have excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. As a strong strategic planner, you will be able to develop and implement effective operational strategies to support income growth. You will work alongside a team of dedicated counsellors within a stepped care model to provide initial assessments and a range of NICE approved low intensity interventions for common mental health problems, including one-to-one work and the potential for groupwork.

You will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, and will have successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or be near to qualification with all elements of the course successfully passed/on track to qualify on time).

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Maths and English GCSE at Grade C OR an equivalent qualification
• IT Skills - ability to use email, internet and databases to electronically record support work (within SCNI we use a client recording system called OSKA but previous use of this is not essential).
• NISCC Registered (or willing to become registered if appointed) and willing to be subject to Access NI checks. (Successful applicants must commence NISCC registration process prior to employment).

About the role:

The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

About You:

To be successful as the MARAC Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC.

Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation

A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and anti-discriminatory practice, safe practice and health and safety procedures

Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals

A clear understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic violence and abuse, how it relates to MARAC in particular, and experience of the purpose and workings of MARAC 

Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through review of individual and team practice

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; including report writing, data collection and monitoring

Good understanding of managing a project

Our BACP accredited Talking Therapies department has been running for over 40 years and we are historically known for providing long term psychodynamic therapy. To meet the emerging needs of the local community, we have developed new and more accessible services which now include emotional support groups, psycho-education workshops and short term counselling, Due to the success of the department we have recently secured long term funding to provide counselling and groups for targeted communities including LGBTQ+, Black and Asian communities, Refugee communities and online therapy for people who are housebound.

Due to our expanding provision, we are recruiting for a new Assessor. You will have responsibility for triaging and assessing potential talking therapies clients and for managing a small team of student volunteer assessors.
