We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to oversee the Fundraising Development Manager position for a fixed-term, covering maternity leave. The successful applicant will have some professional experience of fundraising and/or education development, together with experience of developing good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a Bid Manager and Writer to join our Bid Team, which is part of the wider Development, Marketing, and Communications Department! You will support the delivery of effective business development strategies and activities to achieve organisational growth and to enhance our existing services!

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bid Writing and Management

• Lead in all elements of the bidding process which includes writing competitive bids within strict deadlines.
• Identify, research, and communicate opportunities and needs across the organisation, working proactively with colleagues at all levels to identify fundable initiatives.
• Host internal and external briefings and liaise with relevant teams to develop compelling bids which are fit for purpose, realistic, and aligned with organisational needs and aims.
• Lead the development of specific bid responses which includes the structure, content, and responses. Ensure tenders are submitted on time and achieve the highest scores by the evaluator(s).
• Develop and manage an internal network of subject matter experts and bring them into the development and writing process as required.
• Support colleagues in developing presentations, and briefings.

Partnership Building

• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally throughout the organisation and externally with external partners and organisations.
• Represent Social Interest Group and our subsidiaries in market engagement and events online and in-person and support with all aspects of enhancing and developing our brand.

Organisational Growth

• Identify priorities from strategy and business plans, translating growth plans into effective practices aligned to SIG’s mission, vision, and values.
• Collect and share information relevant to teams involved in Mobilisations and TUPE’s for won bids. Ensure communication is clear, and concise, providing a logical strategy and direction to follow to ensure a smooth transition for new contracts.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this includes a track record of securing new bids and/or retaining existing contracts
• Previous experience in bid/proposal writing, reviewing, and editing
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, experience in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel and attend market engagement events and to visit services to gain greater understanding of what SIG offers and to inform teams of relevant tender responses
• Ability to create and write engaging content, with proofreading skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral and ability to build relationships
• Ability to review large amounts of information and research materials to inform model development and shape tender responses
• Proficiency in navigating tender portals

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience managing the full bidding process end to end from pre market engagement and contract notification, through to award
• Previous experience working in the same or similar sector

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are working with Pact, who are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Major Gifts) with a proven track record of success to manage and grow their portfolio of major donors and legacies, to enable them to make a difference to the lives of those affected by criminal justice.

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers. 

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter. 

This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have 

• A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
• Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
• Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports.  Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.

• Ability to work at pace and deliver to deadlines, prioritising work depending on organisational need.

• Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced programme manager to lead our social prescribing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing a programme of work that builds on people’s strengths, and draws on the strengths of their communities, to:

• Build individual, family and community resilience 

• Support empowerment and independence

• Reduce social isolation and loneliness 

• Increase choice and control 

• Facilitate inclusion and connectedness

Through gathering insight and data, you will also play an important role in supporting the development of local plans and priorities, helping to ensure that they meet the needs and aspirations of local people. 

The successful candidate will be passionate about the power and potential of communities. You will bring previous experience of asset-based community development and a track record of managing and developing impactful projects.

Please note that this role can be offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

About you
As our Face-to-Face Agency Manager, you will have the incredible opportunity to engage the public in the critical work we do, inspiring them to support children in need. Reporting to the Senior Manager Direct Engagement, you will lead the nationwide delivery of our face-to-face fundraising programme, ensuring its success day to day. 

In this role, you will:

• Drive the success of our face-to-face agency program, meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets through effective management of stakeholders.
• Manage budget allocation and optimization across channels, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
• Lead the implementation of compliance and safeguarding programs, maintaining the highest standards.
• Support delivery of our innovative fundraiser engagement program, optimizing performance and motivation.
• Utilize data-driven insights to adapt campaign delivery and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with agencies through direct engagement and site visits, ensuring transparency and excellence.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and deliver exceptional results. Lead ad-hoc direct engagement projects as required, contributing to our mission-driven work.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience managing end-to-end face-to-face fundraising campaigns and teams.
• Deep understanding of the F2F fundraising landscape and agency models.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training programs.
• Strong budget management skills and knowledge of charity marketing compliance.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and drive results.

Ways of Working:

About the role

Coram’s Fundraising Team raises funds for the charity – the Individual Giving team has responsibility for supporter care, customer service and donor administration and managing our supporter database. Coram has been growing its investment in Individual Giving for a number of years, has a loyal and very generous supporter base and an ambition to see this grow and develop further by embracing new ideas. The team has an exciting future and this role will play a key part in its success.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Individual Giving team and support the development and growth of the programme. The role will involve developing engaging content to communicate the importance and impact of our work, inspiring existing and new supporters to commit to long term support of the charity. This will involve printed media but also increasingly digital media as we look to widen the reach of our communications and messaging. It will also require excellent supporter care/donor retention skills to ensure that we make sure we maintain our donors support over the long term and experience working with databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge. The role is a great next step for someone in fundraising wishing to develop their fundraising skills further in direct marketing.

The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. You will have a clear ability to tailor the way we sell our services to potential clients.

You will lead and support others across the company to communicate our service offering to external stakeholders that will directly contribute to the company’s growth strategy and impact.

The Partnership Manager will also be a key member of the department and contribute to, departmental strategies, systems and maximising efficiency, and communicating our brand values and services that attracts a wide range of clients.

In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Communications and Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Programme and Finance teams.

Essential Experience

• Have a minimum 5 years sales and client relationship experience

• Proven success in a similar role, with a track record of securing income through multi-year partnerships

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly within the education and/or corporate sector.

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

• Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities and initiatives to grow the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.

• Experience managing a CRM system, sales systems flow and executing sales campaigns/funnels

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and working independently to find solutions to problems
