As part of this work, our Finance & Operations Team engages with a wide range of people to support the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Finance & Operations Manager is integral to this.
We are looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to provide effective financial management, accurate financial reporting and oversee the facilities management of the Trust’s offices. The Finance & Operations Manager will manage a team of 2 and be part of the Trust’s People Manager Team.

Contract terms:

Summary of key duties:
Financial Management and Reporting
· Develop, implement and operate monitoring systems for financial forecasting and re-forecasting to support sound decision making.
· Lead on and co-ordinate the annual budgeting and planning process ensuring that information is collected, compiled and reported in a timely manner to the Leadership Team for review and recommendation to the Finance & Audit Committee.
· Produce quarterly and annual internal finance report and management accounts for reporting to the Leadership Team and Finance & Audit Committee, which summarise budget trends, analyse and report variance.
· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, through liaisons with the Trust’s external auditors for preparing of the SORP financial statements.
Policy and Procedures
· Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement policies, procedures and systems ensuring best value is achieved across all activities.
· Lead on the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring appropriate cover is in place and general administration of the Trust’s insurance policies is enacted.
Payroll
· Maintain payroll processing system and run the monthly payroll.
Facilities Management
· Support the development of a 5 year planned preventative maintenance plan for the Trust’s premises, to support budget and resource planning.
· Oversee the management of the Trust’s premises ensuring contracts are in place and appropriately managed to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the building and that all health and safety requirements are met.
Line management responsibilities
· Provide line management to the Finance Co-ordinator and Workplace & Facilities Manager, enacting the Trust’s management processes to ensure that all employees are motivated, supported and enabled to give of their best.
· Contribute to Trust-wide people management policies, procedures and team culture as a member of the People Manger Team.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
· Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or experience to this level (E).
· Practical knowledge and understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
· In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting and preparation of financial reports for senior management and compliance purposes.
· Line management experience to foster a productive and supportive team environment.
Summary of skills
· Strong numerical and analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports.
· Proactive problem-solver, demonstrating high levels of initiative, organisation and flexibility.
· Ability to work meticulously and methodically, demonstrating attention to detail.

General Overview of Role
The post-holder will be responsible for writing bid applications within Combat Stress. This will include:
- Support the development and delivery of Combat Stress's bid writing under the leadership of the Director of Fundraising (DoF) and Head of Trusts and Foundations (HTF), in order to support our role as a specialist UK-wide provider of mental health services to veterans with complex mental health needs.
- With guidance and support from DoF and HoTF contribute to the various stages of a bid or tender process.
- Support the team in managing service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with the business development framework and governance processes - with support from DoF and HoTF.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Complete bid writing in support of the business development agenda of Combat Stress, working with all departments in promoting our services to attract new business and supporting cost-effective service delivery.
- Contribute to our revenue generation agenda by owning and contributing to bid documents such as mobilisation or communication plans.
- Support the assessment of the healthcare market within which we operate, to ensure we are best placed to achieve growth and have the appropriate strategies to mitigate risks
- Support the development, monitoring and delivery of business developments plans, systems and processes in line with our strategy and targets
- Work across departments in order to adhere to the full service specification of the bid or tender.
- Work with the DoF to develop existing partnership arrangements and to develop the case to support new service and business partnerships, commercial ventures, and creative contract solutions to further our strategic aims.
- Manage the "bid/no bid" process to lead our responses to ITTs, lead on bid writing and project management of bid submissions
- Produce reports and proposals, including spreadsheets, involve bids for additional funding from commissioners.
- Review and refine all business development processes and templates to maintain "fit for purpose"
Contract Management
- Assist with the development, monitoring, management, and review of contracts.
Communication
- Contribute to the communication strategy within and external to the Charity
- Support the team on any other projects as requested by the DoF
General responsibilities
- Ensure data collection in general is kept up to date, in accordance with legislation and the policies of the Charity, and incident reports are completed in accordance with the policies of the Charity.

Risk Management

We are currently recruiting a Programme Manager to join our growing South & West campus teams, distributed across the Birmingham and Bristol areas. The Associate Programme Manager is responsible for the proactive and effective planning, execution, and administration of the Initial Teacher Education programme across our Birmingham and Bristol campuses, as well as supporting the management and delivery of our ECF and NPQ programmes in Birmingham and Bristol.
This is a hybrid working role with both work from home and on campus. This role would be linked to the NIoT’s Birmingham campus (Oasis Woodview, B15 2HU) and applicants should therefore live within a commutable distance of the Birmingham campus. As some of the team are based in our Bristol campus (The Greenway Centre, Southmead, BS10 5PY) candidates should also be able to work from the Bristol campus at least once every 2-3 weeks, to build relationships and work as a team. Our Programme Manager will also work remotely with programme managers in our other three regions across the country to ensure that our provision is of consistently high quality. The NIoT deliver our programmes directly on our two campuses as well as through our Associate Colleges in other parts of the South and West region. The Programme Manager will primarily support our Campus delivery but is expected to support Associate Colleges when required.
The successful candidate will be a great communicator and problem-solver who enjoys the regular contact and dialogue with staff from our founding MAT (Oasis Community Learning), our trainees, programme members, NIoT tutors, facilitators and Associate Colleges. They will enjoy managing projects from inception to completion and be motivated by providing high-quality programmes for busy trainees, teachers and leaders in schools.
Main duties & responsibilities
Ensure high-quality programme management principles are embedded in all aspects of South and West delivery that are delegated to them by the South and West Senior Leadership Team and the NIoT Programme Faculties.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead our ITE onboarding processes to ensure that all our trainee teachers have a very positive first impression of working with us, and transition successfully onto programme from recruitment.
- Ensure that records are maintained in line with contract/compliance and quality requirements.
- Ensure effective communications with trainees and programme members.
- Acquire venues, resources and co-ordinate the efforts of facilitators, coaches, placement schools etc to deliver a high-quality programme experience.
- Ensure the digital experience for our programme members is seamless.
- Support the preparation of reports on progress, attrition and recruitment for DfE and governance board.
- Support preparations for the interim and final reviews of trainees and the subsequent recommendations for QTS and Academic boards.
- Work closely with Faculty teams to prepare and deliver the national elements of our programme.
- Build effective and positive relationships with our Associate Colleges to ensure that delivery is consistent and high-quality and that excellent local practice is shared.
- Represent the campus and Institute at events in a positive and constructive manner.

The Senior Insight Manager (Audience, Brand & Marketing) will be responsible for overseeing the Consumer Insight and Experience (CIX) team's Audience, Brand and Marketing-focused activity. Managing two direct reports, you will ensure that we deliver high-quality one-off and longitudinal insight projects that influence decision-making across the Marketing, Fundraising, and Engagement department.
What will I be doing?
Leads a programme of Audience, Brand and Marketing-focused research to provide deep and actionable insight into current and potential supporters that informs decision making across marketing, brand and audience strategies
Oversees the approach to and delivery of Brand Tracking and Creative Testing at CRUK, to deliver clear and actionable insight to marketing and brand teams
Supports the implementation and iteration of an Audience Segmentation, including commissioning and managing supplementary primary research into prioritised Audience Categories and running annual quantitative research to update the dataset
Leads primary research projects; managing project timelines, processes, costs and data quality, and commissioning and managing agencies as required, assuming responsibility for their performance, value for money, timeliness and quality of output
Develop strong senior-level working relationships with the Audience, Strategy and Innovation team and the Marketing and Digital Team
Be the main point of contact within the team for Audience, Brand and Marketing requests; facilitating prioritisation, managing workload, budgets and agency relationships and evaluating service and outputs
As a senior member of the Consumer Insight and Experience team you will be responsible for creating a positive culture which recognises success, develops and drives high performance and rewards results to retain talent within the team and wider function

What skills will I need?
Extensive experience of managing consumer insight research projects from inception to completion; including establishing objectives, managing the research process and ensuring implementation of insights to improve the experience of supporters / customers
Strong experience of managing Brand Tracking and Creative Testing research programmes and able to demonstrate good knowledge of best-practice in these areas
Significant experience of running large scale quantitative research programmes, experience of implementing customer segmentations is a significant advantage
Excellent project management and planning skills with ability to prioritise workload across multiple areas and manage ambiguity
Collaborative working style with excellent stakeholder management skills, demonstrating the ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels winning support for ideas
Proven experience of partnering with marketing and brand teams to produce strategic insight plans
Excellent knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and significant experience of deploying appropriate methodologies to drive actionable insight
Strong quantitative market research skills and comfortable working with large data sets to uncover insights. Relevant experience of data analysis (Excel, SPSS) and data charting (PowerPoint).
Strategic and consumer focused mindset, with good attention to detail and the ability to identify broad themes from data

About the role
STOPAIDS mobilises civil society, parliamentarians, the public and the media to influence decision-makers in the UK and globally on the advocacy impact areas outlined in our 2022-2025 strategy.
In partnership with senior leadership, the Media and Communications Manager will oversee the design and implementation of STOPAIDS' organisational-wide media and communications strategy that amplifies STOPAIDS’ impact and reputation across our key advocacy areas. This work includes providing media and communications guidance, coordination and delivery support to our joint advocacy projects with partners.
Our joint advocacy projects are subject to change, but currently include the Digital Health and Rights Project, the UK Civil Society working group on the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, the UK Civil Society working group for Unitaid and a new coalition to advocate on the future of the global health architecture.
The Media and Communications Manager will support STOPAIDS and our joint advocacy projects to achieve our advocacy objectives through identifying strategic media opportunities, managing relationships with media outlets, and securing external media coverage. They will also work with staff and partners to develop relevant high-quality media products and to develop and manage online communications content for our key social media and website platforms.
As a capable team leader, the Media and Communications Manager provides expert guidance to staff and partners, is comfortable coordinating and facilitating working groups and supports the leadership of people living with and affected by HIV. They also work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that media and communications strategies are aligned and complementary with other organisational strategies and priorities.
As with all STOPAIDS staff, and in partnership with the CEO and the Director for Development & Engagement, they will work to ensure the sustainability of the organisation by contributing 10% of their time to fundraising (to support with application and report writing) and other advocacy support.
The role has a six-month probation period.

As Senior Volunteer Co-ordinator, you’ll play a central role in growing and supporting our network of local support groups.
