ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Head of Operations will play a central leadership role within RLSS UK, ensuring the charity operates effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will lead and support the RLSS UK HR, Business Systems and IT, and Compliance departments and provide high quality decision support to senior managers on areas within this portfolio. This is a strategic and hands-on operational role overseeing key areas of the corporate services directorate.
Our current Regulatory bodies are:
- The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation, Ofqual in England.
- The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment, CCEA in Northern Ireland.
- Qualifications Wales, QW in Wales.
Maintaining and exceeding the standards, policies and procedures of these bodies are essential for ensuring our Awarding Organisation and Awarding Body status with the respective Regulators, enabling us to offer regulated qualifications. We also maintain compliance with the Charity Commission, Companies House and the Fundraising Regulator.
Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will help manage the organisation’s systems and culture needed to support high-quality delivery across a growing water safety education charity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organisational Leadership & Operations
- Lead and oversee day-to-day organisational operations across the HR, Business Systems and IT, and Compliance functions
- Develop and improve internal systems, processes, and operational procedures
- Support organisational planning and delivery
- Work closely with the CEO and senior managers to support organisational growth and resilience
- Contribute to organisational decision-making and leadership culture
- Attend Board meetings and committees where required, and any other such Leadership Team functions where necessary
- Build effective relations across departments to support organisational excellence
- Always demonstrate and uphold the Society’s values and behavioural standards.
People & HR Management
- Ensure effective, legally compliant policies and procedures are in place to support the recruitment, development, and retention of a high performing workforce
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives that build and underpin equality, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, wellbeing, and employee engagement
- Lead on the development and presentation of recommendations for annual pay and benefits review
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development processes

Compliance
- Ensure that standards, policies, and procedures meet and exceed the regulatory requirements set by our regulatory bodies

- Lead on operational health and safety systems and organisational compliance
Organisational Systems
- Support organisational budgeting and financial monitoring alongside the finance and Senior Leadership teams
- Oversee operational procurement and contract management systems
- Support implementation and optimisation of organisational systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and IT systems including cyber security
- Improve internal reporting and programme coordination systems
Programme & Delivery Support
- Support operational coordination across RLSS UK programmes and projects
- Help ensure teams are appropriately resourced and supported
- Improve organisational project management systems and workflows
- Support efficient collaboration across delivery teams
- Contribute to organisational development opportunities and partnerships
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- All other duties reasonably associated with your role, as directed by the Line Manager
- Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up-to-date documentation as part of RLSS UK’s compliance programme

- Lead the creative development, design and production of high-quality, impactful marketing and communications materials across print, digital, photography and video channels for the Charity
- Be an active and influential member of the core Brand Refresh project group, delivering the project to time and budget, strengthening brand awareness, consistency and impact.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Fundraising, Marketing and Digital teams to produce effective marketing and communications which meet audience objectives, interpreting briefs and deliver creative solutions that achieve campaign objectives.
- Lead creative concepts from initial brief through to final delivery, presenting ideas confidently to stakeholders and translating feedback into exceptional outputs. Develop efficient creative briefing and workflow processes that support excellent project delivery.
- Run weekly design clinics to review all business as usual design and video outputs.
- Manage and develop the creative team, including the Designer and Video Producer, providing leadership, coaching and support.

About the role
As Senior Supporter Retention Officer (Appeals and Islamic Giving), you will lead the development of supporter-led, multi-channel fundraising campaigns. You'll design bespoke supporter journeys for key audiences, including Islamic givers and mid-value supporters. Main Purpose of the Post
The Chief Executive will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the RLSS and all its services. This will include management of staff and ensuring the services are meeting the needs of those who require them, in addition to managing finances, membership and external relationships. The post holder will be accountable to and work closely with the Board Chair and its Directors to set the strategic direction and further develop the business model which will serve Religious Life Groups for the future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership and Governance
· Provide visible, ambitious, and focused leadership of the RLSS.
· Be overall responsible for the management of the RLSS working in conjunction with the Chair and Directors to provide leadership.
· Lead and contribute to the Board’s overall development of the strategy and annual plans to ensure achievement of a One Church approach to applying the Church’s safeguarding standards.
· Ensure risks to the overall objectives of the RLSS are identified, mitigated, and reported to the Board.
· Develop a culture of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning within the organization to navigate challenges and maintain trust among victims/survivors and members.
· Develop and promote services and practice improvements which are designed to mitigate risk and improve understanding within safeguarding.
· Effectively sustain a culture that consistently meets the needs of and engages with victim/survivors and with Religious.
· Foster and develop a climate of shared accountabilities, learning and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the RLSS meets it statutory, legal, and regulatory obligations.
· Ensure appropriate presentation and reporting to the Board (and any sub committees and advisory groups) on the progress of the RLSS and on all matters relevant to the discharge of the Board’s responsibilities.
· Oversee all promotional activities, press releases, digital presence, radio, and newspaper interviews.
Staffing & Management.
· Be accountable for the recruitment, retention, ongoing development, and wellbeing of RLSS staff.
· Enthusiastically and effectively, lead, shape, and influence teams to deliver the vision and goals of RLSS to ensure best practice in the delivery of all its safeguarding services.
· Create a supportive working environment which promotes transparency and collaboration in safeguarding.
· Ensure that high quality people management is embedded across the service and foster a high performing culture with shared accountabilities and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the effective management and implementation of robust performance management and appraisal processes.

Collaboration/Networks.
· Contribute to strategic level initiatives with key partners, particularly the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) and relevant statutory agencies, to ensure joint planning, access to resources and the development of interagency strategies.
· Build strong and dynamic relationships and networks within and outside the Church to deliver better outcomes for Religious in safeguarding.
Policy and Procedure
· Ensure a robust and up to date Policy & Procedure framework approved by the Board is in place including HR, Health and Safety, Data Protection and operational delivery.
· Ensure there is a system in place to review approved policies and procedures to ensure that substantial changes or additions are brought to the Board for decision.
· Undertake operating compliance exercises including annual risk assessments, health and safety checks and reporting on incidents and near misses.
· Ensure
Finance & Resources
· In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop a long-term funding strategy, including gathering data, completing research, developing models to ensure the service is cost effective.
· Agree and deliver to budget maintaining a reserve level in line with policy and monitor all budgets and provide financial reports to the Board of Directors.
· Be responsible and accountable for all finances and resources within the teams, ensuring value for money, the avoidance of waste, and the efficient and effective use of all resources.
· Ensure the equitable and timely allocation of work, assuring the most appropriate interventions that timescales are being met and appropriate records maintained.
· Be responsible for all contracts, tenancy agreements and leases.
· Have overall responsibility for the security of confidential information, use of computers and database information.

Role Description
The COO is the Cathedral’s principal member of staff and has responsibility for the overall operational performance and administration of the organisation, its assets and its people. Appointed by the Chapter and accountable to them through the Dean, the COO works with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensure effective governance and compliance, manage the business functions of the Cathedral and monitor its overall progress and development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development of the Cathedral’s overall strategy to reflect the Cathedral’s Vision and Values.
- Ensure the effective implementation of the Cathedral’s masterplan and successfully deliver outcomes through the effective performance management of goals and objectives.
- Secure financial sustainability, achieve growth and optimise the efficient use of resources through effective short, medium and long term planning.
Safeguarding
- Work closely with the Dean, the Cathedral Safeguarding Committee, Chapter Safeguarding Lead and the Safeguarding Officer to develop and deliver the Cathedral’s safeguarding strategy.
- Act as a role model in upholding safeguarding policies and embedding a healthy safeguarding culture across Cathedral life.
- Negotiate, implement and continually review the Service Level Agreement with the Diocesan Board of Finance and the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer.
- Ensure compliance with current safeguarding legislation and national guidance, fostering an environment where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
Staff and Volunteers
- Ensure recruitment, training and HR management of staff and volunteers adhere to the Safer Recruitment policies of the Church of England and meet the needs of the Cathedral.
- Develop a workplace culture and ethos that reflects the Cathedral’s values and enables and empowers staff and volunteers.
- Act as a role model for effective people management, supporting, developing, and constructively challenging others while encouraging continuous professional development.
- Foster a collegiate, open, and collaborative environment across the Cathedral.
- Champion diversity and inclusivity within the Cathedral community, providing opportunity and support for all.
Cathedral Compliance and Operational Management
- Ensure the effective running and forward planning of Chapter and other governance committees, including compliance with the Constitution and Statutes.
- Ensure trustees and others in governance positions are properly inducted and trained including in safeguarding.
- Ensure that the Cathedral meets all legislative regulations and complies with ecclesiastical and charity laws.
- Be accountable for reporting to the Charity Commission and Companies House.
- Work with the Chief Finance Officer to ensure that the strategic plan is supported by a robust, multi-year financial plan aligned with long-term objectives.
- Work with the Visitor Experience Manager to increase income generation, establishing a growth plan with the Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn Project.
- Work with the Architect and Facilities Manager to ensure the Cathedral meets its statutory and legal obligations relating to heritage, ecclesiastical and listed buildings in its care.
- Work with the Facilities Manager to ensure the Cathedral meets its statutory and legal requirements in relation to its properties and responsibilities as a landlord.
- Ensure effective management of Health and Safety across the Cathedral ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and best practice; ensure emergency procedures are up to date.
- Ensure all data is protected and processed in full compliance with GDPR legislation.
- Ensure that the Cathedral is complies with all legal requirements, interpreting and communicating changes in compliance to the Chapter and Cathedral staff.
- Support the Church of England’s Net Zero targets and ensure the Cathedral has a plan for reducing carbon emissions; adhering to statutory requirements relating to Net Zero.
- Ensure suitable IT provision is in place, to support Cathedral operations, is secure and regularly review software and hardware requirements.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to oversee public relations, ensuring appropriate management of reputation, branding, and media activities; act as Cathedral spokesperson as appropriate.
- Review working methods, office accommodation and administration support to ensure arrangements are fit for purpose.
- Promote open and transparent ways of working throughout the administration, with effective communication and engagement at all levels.
- Oversee the effective planning and management of key projects and the implementation of delivery programmes to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
- Support the Dean in managing relationships with the 1327 Club.
- Ensure the effective management, use and future development of all the Cathedral’s assets.
- Be responsible for contingency planning, including the management of insurance, disaster recovery and salvage planning and oversee the Cathedral’s risk register.

The Role
You’ll work closely with foster carers and social work colleagues to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support and improve outcomes for children and young people.
The Senior Admin Officer will be responsible for general administrative functions within the London & South East region and will report to the Administrative Manager. In some instances, the Senior Admin Officer may be required to deputise for the Admin Manager in the post holder’s absence in relation to day to day matters.
The Senior Admin Officer will specialise in a particular area (s), such as Panels, statutory paperwork, minute-taking, training, and maintaining the in-house database (Charms).
As a charity we are committed to ensuring that our resources are directed toward supporting our children. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing an administration service to the London & South-East region to help meet the service objectives of increased foster carer recruitment
- Organise and prepare all panel papers for approvals and reviews.

Finance Director
Hours of work 30 hrs / 4 days per week, permanent contract
Based Newhaven, with some hybrid working available after completing induction
Starting Salary £60K per annum pro rata
Are you an experienced senior level finance decision maker with broad cross sector knowledge, who demonstrates excellent communication skills, and wants to use your skills to support a community facing organisation? If so, we would welcome your interest and application!
You will be a qualified accountant, with an understanding of the complexities of working within the 3rd sector funding framework. With responsibility for providing expert strategic financial advice and professional input right across the organisation, you will ensure the finances of the Charity run smoothly and efficiently. You will consider the wider internal and external factors presented to you by our internal knowledge experts alongside the financial position in order to support the delivery of the services and enterprises, which fulfil the organisation’s mission and values.
You will also provide effective leadership and direction of the well-regarded finance team with a person-centred approach.
Providing sound financial, contract & risk management advice and ensuring compliance with legal, statutory and audit requirements, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the charity as an active member of our Senior Management Team.

Role Purpose
The Senior Individual Giving Officer is a crucial position within EIA’s Fundraising team, which contributes to the delivery of the individual giving strategy through acquiring and stewarding new supporters, leading our face to face fundraising and mass participation event programmes and legacy marketing and stewardship.
You will need to have demonstrable experience of delivering campaigns across individual giving products and channels, excellent written communication and analytical skills, and experience of creating engaging and inspiring online and offline direct marketing communications.
Key areas of responsibility
New Supporter Acquisition: Face to Face fundraising
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will lead our new acquisition channel, face to face fundraising, to recruit new regular givers:
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of acquisition campaigns, from briefing internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, to developing creative and monitoring results and evaluating performance
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and on budget and meet the campaign KPIs
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Implementation Officer to share content to feed into the bespoke supporter journeys for new supporters to increase engagement
Mass Participation Events
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will lead our growing mass participation events programme. Building on the success of testing during 2026, learning will be applied to further expand the event programme during 2027 and beyond:
- Develop and manage the annual event calendar to ensure there is a broad range of events that are targeted towards EIA supporters
- Responsible for all elements of supporter recruitment and stewardship from developing marketing materials, working with the Social Media and Digital Engagement Manager and the Digital team to recruit new supporters, setting up fundraising pages and stewarding supporters to meet their fundraising targets, through to evaluating performance and applying learnings to future events.
Supporter retention, development, and engagement
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and inspiring supporter development activity and supporter journeys for individuals:
- Lead on creating the content and briefing suppliers for the supporter newsletter mailings which are sent out three times a year.
- Plan, implement and evaluate digital and offline supporter-driven supporter journeys from all individual giving audiences, including appeals, face to face, mass digital, regular giving and the weekly lottery
- Work closely with the Individual Giving Manager, Supporter Services Officer and teams across the organisation (including the Communications and Campaign teams) to develop inspiring and targeted content and communications that increase engagement and lifetime value of supporters
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring and evaluating the success of supporter journeys
- Along with the Supporter Services Officer, be a key point of contact for supporters, ensuring that all supporters have a positive experience
Legacy Marketing and Stewardship
- Develop and deliver legacy marketing campaigns to acquire new legacy pledgers from our existing supporter base
- Take a key role in the engagement with the Remember a Charity consortium, and lead on the promotion of legacies during Remember a Charity Week
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager and the Communications team to ensure legacy messages are included in all relevant communications including appeals, supporter newsletters and Investigator magazine
- Responsible for all elements of legacy stewardship, from establishing engagement segmentation, to developing and delivering a legacy stewardship programme including bespoke communications, as well as on and offline events and webinars to maximise engagement and commitment from legacy pledgers
- Explore opportunities to recruit legacy pledgers from new audiences
Strategy development, budgeting and campaign reporting
- Work with the Head of Fundraising and Individual Giving Manager to develop fundraising strategy and annual plans
- Monitor income and expenditure of campaigns within your areas to ensure they meet budget and contribute to the mid-year reforecast process
- Produce regular campaign reports that monitor performance against KPIs and feed back to the Head of · of Fundraising and wider organisation to share successes with the EIA team

Job Purpose
The Senior Digital Officer will help shape and deliver integrated communications campaigns that strengthen the TSSA’s voice, influence decision-makers, support organising activity and champion workers across Britain and Ireland.
The postholder will lead on digital communications, audience engagement, digital campaigning and the effective use of the organisation's digital channels. Working closely with the Senior Communications and Media Officer, they will ensure campaigns and TSSA priorities are amplified through targeted digital communications that support member engagement, recruitment, retention and organisational influence.
The role will support communications activity relating to organising drives, industrial campaigns, ballots, political engagement and wider organisational priorities, ensuring digital communications contribute to campaign success and member engagement.
The postholder will help drive a step-change in TSSA's digital offer, ensuring it reflects the union's ambition to be responsive, inclusive and effective in supporting members at every stage of their working lives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Digital Strategy and Campaigning
- Develop and deliver digital communications activity that supports organising, bargaining, campaigning and political objectives.
- Develop targeted content, email communications and audience engagement activity that supports campaigns, organising and member engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Communications and Media Officer to deliver integrated campaigns across media, digital and member channels.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of communications and campaign plans.
- Work closely with organisers and campaign leads to amplify key messages, increase participation and maximise campaign impact.
- Support communications activity relating to industrial disputes, negotiations, ballots, organising campaigns and political advocacy.
- Advise colleagues and senior leaders on digital trends, opportunities and best practice.
Website Management and Development
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation's website, ensuring content remains accessible, engaging and aligned with organisational priorities.
- Contribute to website redevelopment projects through audience insight, content planning, user experience improvements and digital communications expertise.
- Work with colleagues, project leads and external suppliers to support website enhancements and improvements.
- Monitor website performance and user behaviour, making recommendations to improve engagement and member experience.
Social Media and Audience Engagement
- Develop and deliver audience-focused content plans across social media and digital channels.
- Create and coordinate targeted digital campaigns designed to influence key audiences and decision-makers.
- Produce or commission engaging multimedia content, including graphics, video and digital storytelling.
- Grow and strengthen the organisation's digital reach, engagement and influence.
- Monitor emerging trends and recommend new approaches to audience engagement.
Content Planning and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Senior Communications and Media Officer to translate campaign priorities, media opportunities and organisational messaging into effective digital communications.
- Ensure consistency of messaging across all digital channels and communications platforms.
- Collaborate with organising, campaigns, policy and leadership teams to identify and deliver digital communications opportunities.
- Support colleagues across the organisation to improve digital communication practices.
- Contribute to a shared communications and campaigns planning process to ensure effective coordination across the communications function.
Analytics and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor website, social media and campaign performance using analytics and insight tools.
- Produce regular reports evaluating digital performance and audience engagement.
- Use data and audience insight to inform content planning, campaign delivery and strategic decision-making.
- Identify and implement new digital tools, technologies and approaches that enhance communications and engagement.
- Promote best practice in accessibility, user experience and digital communications.
Shared Responsibility
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Communications and Media Officer to deliver an integrated communications function, jointly planning campaigns, coordinating messaging, sharing insight and ensuring communications activity supports organising, campaigning and the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Co-produce TSSA's annual journal and other flagship publications.
