Job Purpose

This is a new role within Park Lodge Project. You will be responsible for researching and leading all fundraising bids, developing funding opportunities and working with service delivery colleagues to respond to opportunities. You will lead on all aspects of bid writing, including showcasing and reporting young people impact data.

You will work closely with the CEO and the Chair of the Fundraising Trustee Committee to support the strategy, development and delivery of identified opportunities. You will be the lead on organising key stakeholder events.

This role has an exciting responsibility to capture the importance of the work that Snowdrop does and drive forward our ambitious fundraising strategy, focusing on diversifying income streams that sustains and grows our support to survivors. 

You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills; experience of  fundraising; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and prioritise rapidly changing lists of tasks.

What You’ll Be Doing:  

You’ll lead our Fundraising Team and line manage our dynamic and engaged fundraisers, supporting them from planning inspiring activities and events to supporting local fundraisers and volunteers all whilst upholding Snowdrop’s values and fundraising best practice.

• This person will take the lead in delivering the next 12 months of Snowdrop’s fundraising strategy, driving forward strategic development, implementing learning and further developing the fundraising team to deliver on its fundraising ambitions in line with the wider organisational strategy.
• The Head of Fundraising role sits within the Senior Leadership team at Snowdrop and is responsible to contribute to the overall leadership, strategic management and continued development of the organisation
• Leading on creating strategies for attracting new corporate donors and partnerships alongside driving forward our well-established corporate volunteering programme
• This person will work alongside and support Snowdrop’s trusts and grants fundraiser and support on large grant applications where necessary 
• Line management of the Donor Relations and Communications Manager and Community and Events Fundraising Manager, alongside the supervision of two consultants

As the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, you will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering our ambitious new fundraising strategy through leading a team to build transformational relationships to help achieve The Brain Tumour Charity’s mission to defeat brain tumours. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and leading a high-performing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a bold, strategic approach to major giving, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, and high-value donor engagement.

You will drive growth across a portfolio of income streams by identifying and cultivating long-term, meaningful partnerships with philanthropists, grant-makers, and companies aligned with our values and vision. This is a unique opportunity to influence change and secure significant funding to fuel life-saving research, improve patient outcomes, and raise awareness of brain tumours.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing six-and seven-figure gifts, exceptional relationship-building skills, and strategic leadership experience in a charity or relevant sector. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Strategic Leadership
   • Develop and implement an ambitious philanthropy and partnerships strategy aligned with The Charity’s overall income generation goals and strategic priorities.
   • Lead and inspire a team of fundraising professionals across major donors, family Led Partnerships, Trusts & Foundations, and corporate partnerships, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
   • Contribute to the organisation's wider strategic planning and represent high value giving at senior leadership level.
2. Income Generation and Growth
   • Drive sustainable growth in high-value income, securing significant, multi-year gifts from individuals, companies, and grant-making bodies.
   • Identify new funding opportunities, oversee compelling proposals, and ensure excellent stewardship that strengthens donor relationships and encourages repeat giving.
   • Lead the development of major donor giving programmes, including cultivation events, networks, and tailored engagement plans.
3. Relationship Management
   • Personally manage a portfolio of high-value relationships, including major donors, senior corporate contacts, and philanthropic partners.
   • Act as an ambassador for The Brain Tumour Charity, building influential partnerships and representing the organisation at key external engagements.
   • Collaborate closely with the CEO, trustees, and senior volunteers to support their involvement in relationship building and solicitation.
4. Corporate and Strategic Partnerships
   • Develop a clear and compelling case for support for corporate partners, building strategic, long-term partnerships that align with corporate social responsibility objectives and mutual value.
   • Oversee the delivery of impactful corporate partnerships, ensuring effective activation, reporting, and relationship management.
5. Governance and Performance Management
   • Set and monitor income and expenditure budgets for philanthropy and partnerships, reporting on performance to the Director of Fundraising and other stakeholders.
   • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, data protection, and ethical standards in all donor and partner activities.
   • Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact and return on investment.
6. Team Development and Culture
   • Recruit, develop, and retain top fundraising talent, ensuring the team has clear goals, access to professional development, and a supportive environment.
   • Champion cross-team collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to the Charity’s values and mission.

Beyond shaping culture, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that BUCS operates safely and is compliant. From health and safety to safeguarding the experience of our staff and participants, you will lead best practices and work closely with the governance and compliance team to meet all statutory and industry regulations.

Collaboration is key in this role. Working with the senior leadership team and management team, you will align people strategies with organisational goals. Additionally, you will oversee key safeguarding matters, monitor disclosures and case management, and escalate concerns to the CEO and the Board as required.

Tom’s Trust, a charity dedicated to providing clinical psychology support to children, with brain and central nervous system tumours, and their families.  We currently have services in East Anglia, the North East, North West of England and Thames Valley and have ambitious plans to extend our reach but need your help to do so!

Are you a passionate, highly motivated and organised individual? Do you have brilliant application and report writing skills and are able to build effective relationships with donors? If you are, we are seeking a Trusts & Foundations Manager to be an integral part of the Fundraising team where you will be responsible for submitting applications to Trusts & Foundations for our services in the UK.

You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience at management level and will be working to deliver Tom’s Trust’s ambitious targets for trust and foundations income for the coming years and beyond. The post-holder will help to research and explore new avenues for funding and building a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity over multiple years. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at charitable trusts and corporate foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations.  You will be able to build upon and develop a compelling case for support for both the services we offer as a whole and for specific projects that reflect our work.
