No one should feel alone when diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.

Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients.  Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.

Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service.  The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.

They will assist in all aspects of the Bone Cancer Research Trust's Support & Information Service, including the organisation and delivery of  virtual support groups, the administration of the Charity's financial grants, the distribution of information resources and the administration of our digital groups. They will also have the opportunity to lead on the delivery of our regional in-person ‘Get-Togethers’, which bring the primary bone cancer community together to gain peer to peer support.The successful candidate will also play an important role in the continuous development of the Service, ensuring that impact is measured and feedback is acted upon.

Executive Director

We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director to lead a small charity who work within the Jewish community to make it more inclusive of LGBT+ people through education, consultancy and training.

Position: Executive Director

Location: London (King Cross) / Hybrid (minimum one day a week in the office)

About the role:

As Executive Director you will lead a small team – Head of Education (full time), Head of Community Life (full time) and Programme and Volunteer Officer (full time), working with a charity that has a vision of a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ and Jewish identity.

As the only charity doing this in the UK, the charity works in partnership with communities to identify their goals, then tailor  support so they can achieve them.

About you:

Director of Income Generation

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role

The Development Director will be a key part of the Action4Youth Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic development of the whole organisation and taking responsibility for the leadership and management of all aspects of business development, sales, fundraising, marketing and communications.

This job is unusual in genuinely being both strategic and hands on.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Communications to lead on all of our external communications in the UK. You will have overall responsibility for brand, content, digital and social media, media/PR and celebrities, leading a team of 9 in a Fundraising and Communications Directorate of 35. The Communications team has grown considerably in recent years, with investment in digital mobilisation, content, brand and celebrity management now paying off. You would be joining the organisation at an incredibly exciting time as we prepare to launch a global brand campaign, forge new partnerships, increase our social media following and digital advocacy and acquisition, attract more celebrity ambassadors and capitalise on the number of our supporters growing to tackle the biggest issues of our time.

As Head of Communications, you would join an established and experienced leadership team – both in the UK and globally - and be expected to develop and deliver strategy, make key decisions, manage resource and manage risk. We need an experienced fundraiser who can research and apply for funding for our projects from a wide range of sources including: grants, s106 developer contributions, sponsorship and corporate volunteering. We have a diverse range of projects to deliver from new play equipment to support for community projects, regeneration schemes and more. 

We are looking for someone with a great track record of success in fundraising, who can thrive in a small ambitious team. The Fundraising and Development Director will lead income and resource generation through development strategies, bidding and relationship building. We will expect you to represent our interests in a range of public and private sector contexts and expect you to be a confident and proactive verbal and written communicator and a skilled networker with a strong track record of relationship building. 

This is a senior role in an expanding organisation and is closely aligned with our growth and capital development ambitions with the next three years focused on capital fundraising alongside strategic project development.

The postholder will work closely with and report to the Chief Executive, you will also have a close working relationship with the Executive Director (Programme and Impact) to ensure the resources are in place to fulfil our programme ambitions. You will support the charity’s trustees to be effective champions of our work.

The Refugee Council is one of the leading organisations in the UK working with people seeking asylum and refugees. Our operational teams based in various locations throughout England provide advice and assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping people seeking asylum through the complexities of the asylum system, addressing issues of destitution, and assisting refugees and people seeking asylum to access key services including housing, welfare benefits, health, education and employment.

The Team

This role sits in the Digital Team within the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. This team is responsible for updating and transforming the Refugee Council’s external-facing digital platforms.

This Role

The Digital Copywriter will devise excellent creative copy and ideas to support the development of the Refugee Council’s digital platforms, with a particular focus on producing inspiring, impactful copy for our website and social channels.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Digital Team is the central hub of digital expertise within the charity and a significant amount of our written communications are delivered via owned and paid-for digital communications. The Digital Team is currently involved in two core organisational projects: a rebrand and a website re-design. We have many different audiences we need to connect with, including the people we are here to help, and our digital platforms need to reflect that.

The Digital Designer’s main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering creative and considered copy that is audience-led and supports the realisation of the Refugee Council’s strategic priorities.
• Working closely with the Refugee Council Media Team, and particularly the Senior Stories and Content Officer, who will provide story-led content for the Copywriter to develop in a way that engages with our key audiences.
