• Champion safety and safeguarding: Manage local incidents and safeguarding concerns, ensuring all actions are taken promptly, recorded accurately, communicated with the right people, and followed up appropriately.
• Be the Health & Safety lead: Act as the service’s Health & Safety representative, ensuring the team and all stakeholders follow established safety guidelines and work within a safe environment.

This is a full time, fixed term contract for six months. The shift pattern is mostly Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, allowing for an excellent work-life pattern. You will be a part of the evening and weekend rota, which is shared between vets based across Victoria, Merton and Hammersmith resulting in about 2 evening shifts a month and 1 weekend day shift (compensated by time in lieu) every 6 weeks. You will be based primarily at our Victoria hospital, however some flexibility in supporting pets at our other sites is needed.

The Blue Cross Victoria hospital has been in operation since its opening in 1906, remaining steadfast in its commitment to helping pets and their owners in need. 
 

Equipped with state-of-the-art veterinary facilities, you will be joining a hospital that spans six floors with six consultation rooms, two theatres, four minor procedure rooms and a laboratory. We are also lucky to have an ambulance service dedicated to transporting animals to and from the hospital. 

Victoria is a 24-hour hospital with a dedicated night team, allowing for much desired case continuity. You will take an active part in our team development days, where once a month we provide emergency services only, allowing time for in-house cadaver training, case discussions and team meetings.

About You

 · A recognised qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy

· Professional accreditation, or working towards it

· Minimum 5 years’ experience working with young people aged 11-25 years, including at least 3 years of providing post qualification 1:1 counselling support to young people in an organisational setting

· Experience as a team leader or as part of a management team

· Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience in managing safeguarding concerns

We are looking for individuals trained in Quickbooks accounting package who possess an accounting/bookkeeping qualification or equivalent experience. The post also requires demonstrable experience of financial management preferably gained within a charity or social enterprise setting, an understanding of Charity financial management and knowledge of Microsoft office and Quickbooks accounts experience.

In addition we are looking for good financial skills including financial modelling, management accounts and proper application of financial controls, expertise at pricing/unit costing/marginal costing as well as excellent organisational, business planning and budgeting skills. The Challenge

Looking ahead to 2030, BCI is targeting a 50 percent reduction in GHG emissions from cotton production, significant reductions in synthetic pesticide use, improved soil health across our network, increased farm income and stronger support for women’s empowerment among farmers and farm workers.

As a Grant Programme Manager, you will oversee a multi-country grant portfolio, ensure strong financial stewardship, drive performance against strategic targets and strengthen partnerships with programme partners and donors.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated Grant Programme Manager to join our Global Programmes team within GIF. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a complex grant portfolio and ensuring effective delivery, financial oversight and strategic alignment.

1. Oversee and manage a portfolio of Small Farm Fund projects across multiple countries, ensuring delivery against BCI strategy and BCSS targets.
2. Lead grant application and assessment processes, including reviewing proposals, analysing organisational viability and contributing to funding recommendations.
3. Ensure effective financial stewardship of donor funds, reviewing budgets, tracking expenditure and identifying risks or corrective actions where required.
4. Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, ensuring robust data quality, learning integration and continuous improvement.
5. Represent GIF in internal governance forums, including the Field Investment and Innovation Committee, contributing to funding decisions and strategic discussions.
6. Engage with donors and external stakeholders, supporting reporting, relationship management and future funding opportunities.
7. Support Large Farm Fund and Knowledge Partner Fund rounds, including assessment, monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
8. Strengthen grant management systems and processes, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance and transparency.
9. Collaborate closely with country programme teams, MEL colleagues and finance teams to ensure coordinated delivery and alignment across functions.
10. Contribute to annual reporting, portfolio analysis and strategic planning for the GIF and wider Global Programmes function.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge and experience:

1. Degree in Agronomy, International Development, Anthropology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
2. Demonstrated experience managing complex grant or project portfolios within rural development or sustainability contexts.
3. Experience working with commercial and institutional donors, including proposal development and reporting.
4. Strong financial oversight experience, including reviewing budgets and financial performance.
5. Experience using MEL frameworks, logframes and performance monitoring tools.
6. Willingness to travel domestically within programme countries up to 20% of the time, and internationally on average four times per year, with each trip lasting approximately 7 to 10 days.

Desirable

1. Expertise in smallholder agriculture.
2. Experience supporting organisational development of partners.
3. Experience communicating with donors and representing programmes externally.
4. Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or South Asia.
5. Additional language skills relevant to programme geographies.

The Programme Manager will report to our COO. You’ll be managing a team of Settle Coaches working on the frontline, delivering one-to-one sessions with care-experienced young people across London. About the Service and the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work with the Operational Services Manager (Blended Teams) to manage the daily operations of our Blended Teams functions.

This includes managing a core team of workers in a diverse range of projects and services often in partnership with the NHS and other VCSE and community groups. The role will involve multi-agency working and ensuring the continuous development of our services to ensure that they meet the needs of the community and blended team outcomes.

Ideally, you will be required to have knowledge of managing remote teams who may be imbedded in NHS services and the ideal candidate would have the skills to support staff with the complex challenges that come with blended working as well as maintaining and building relationships with key stakeholders. You will also be required to hold your own caseload, supporting the teams with more complex service users and cover gaps in services.

Key Responsibilities and Service Delivery

• Operate a service and ensure outcomes which support individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in line with Mind BLMK’s and blended team model and contract requirements.
• Work with the Operational Services Manager (Blended Teams) and senior managers to ensure the management of an effective workforce including recruitment and performance management challenges
• Ensure that services with complex partnerships and remote teams are effectively managed and maintained, through effective relationship building and multi-agency working.
• Ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteer and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
• Assess suitability for community connection support as part of a blended team approach and support individuals to access the service by utilising in depth knowledge of local voluntary and community services and networks.
• To work with individuals to coproduce a plan to address their mental health and wellbeing goals. Enable people to achieve these goals through facilitating access and connecting with appropriate resources.
• Enable people to access community resources which may include accompanying them.
• Offer support, guidance and help where possible to people to gain confidence, overcome initial fears and seek solutions to any barriers inhibiting attendance.
• Take a holistic approach, based on the individuals’ priorities and wider determinants of health that impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, poor housing, being unemployed, loneliness and caring responsibilities.
• To work as part of an integrated team to ensure the best outcomes for each person accessing the service.
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of crisis workers, peer support workers and volunteers).

The Role 
 
Reporting to the Head of Retail Property and Estates, as Centre Manager, you will lead a multiskilled team that delivers a consistently positive visitor experience at our flagship Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre at Hornbeam Park, Harrogate. This team provides a high level of customer service to the public across face-to-face interactions, email and telephone, while also creating a supportive working environment for employees and volunteers. This includes ensuring that the right resources, refreshments, and a clean, well maintained workspace are always available. 

As part of the visitor experience, you will be accountable for the safe and legally compliant operation of the Hornbeam Café and for ensuring it provides a comfortable and pleasant environment for customers. This includes managing the Café Manager and offering an appropriate balance of support and challenge in what is a high activity, high impact role 

You will be responsible for all health and safety elements within the Centre, including weekly fire alarm tests, routine checks and food preparation audits. The team also manages a range of consumables, so the role requires strong cost control, effective stock usage, and regular feedback on Yorkshire Cancer Research materials. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Ensure that all Health, Safety Fire and COSHH checks are carried out as required diligently, regularly and to the required standard. 

• Work closely with the Café Manager to maintain high standards of food safety through appropriate compliance adherence and regular audits. 

• Report any maintenance issues to facilities through the Yorkshire Cancer Research platform EVERY. 

• Line manage a Café Manager and a team of Centre Support Assistants and ensure they offer a positive, professional and warm welcome to all visitors. Manage the Centre Support Assistants ensuring cover on the Welcome Desk across key operating hours. 

• Develop a volunteer team with potential new role profiles to enhance the Centre Team. 

• Represent the Yorkshire Cancer Research brand positively, role modelling a professional appearance and presence in line with our values. 

• Support the team to maintain high standards at the centre with and in the Welcome Area. 

• Lead the team to provide visitors with up-to-date Yorkshire Cancer Research literature, offering the marketing team feedback on the documents provided. 

• Lead the team to ensure all working spaces including, meeting rooms and the kitchen area are well stocked and maintained. 

• Conduct recruitment processes when required and provide thorough induction and training for new recruits, ensuring new team members are well integrated into their roles and team. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need:
