Role Summary 

Bliss is the UK’s leading national charity for babies born premature or sick, and we are looking for a skilled Trusts and Foundations Programme Lead to join our enthusiastic and passionate Fundraising team. You will bring your skills in bid writing, stewardship, and high-value relationship management to deepen our engagement with trusts and foundations, and to identify and secure new opportunities for funding.

Historically, Bliss has worked with external consultant support to manage our trusts and foundations fundraising. This is a new role within the organisation as we look to take a more meaningful, relationship-based approach to our trusts and foundations donors. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven experience in trusts and foundations fundraising looking for a part-time position to make a real difference for babies and families.

Role Details 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in trusts and foundations to make a real difference as part of a small, dynamic and dedicated charity. Working closely with Bliss’ senior management team and managing the relationship with our fundraising consultants, you’ll work with a high degree of autonomy to strengthen and grow our support from trusts and foundations.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

· Proven experience of writing bids to successfully secure five- or six-figure and multi-year grants.

· Excellent relationship management skills; the ability to quickly build trusting relationships with funders, partners and colleagues of all levels.

· Exceptional writing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling cases for support.

· Influencing skills, including demonstrable experience of effectively working with senior colleagues and/or external stakeholders.

As Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will: 

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partners at the six-figure+ level, ensuring effective stewardship to strengthen engagement and drive incremental income

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with London's Air Ambulance Charity, supporting them to recruit a Deputy Head of Philanthropy (Trusts) maternity cover. This role will start at a key time in strategy development and long term planning, as they enter the final phase of their incredibly successful Up Against Time Appeal to replace their two helicopters.

As they enter the final phase of the appeal, having raised £11.5m of their £15m target (with a number of further pledges confirmed) this role will focus on developing the long term Trusts fundraising strategy. As Deputy Head of Philanthropy you will be tasked with considering the opportunities presented by the new 15 year organisational strategy, and contributing to the wider Philanthropy, Partnerships and Events team plans to ensure they have a strong footing as they look to the long term and next 15 years of London's Air Ambulance Charity. 

As Deputy Head of Philanthropy you will not only lead on strategy development but also build and develop the Trusts pipeline, leading and developing the Trusts and Prospect Research teams to improve internal processes and influence/respond to upcoming fundraising opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Trusts and Prospect Research teams and programmes through a year of maternity cover, ensuring both areas are in a strong position on the return of the substantive postholder. 
• Act as LAAC's Trust and Lead Gift (£500k+) fundraising expert, leading the Trusts and Prospect Research teams to be ambitious and consider the long term funding opportunities for the charity. 
• Lead the team through the transition from the Up Against Time Appeal to focus on the new 15 year organisational strategy and opportunities it presents to develop the pipeline for new projects.
• Take ownership of the Trusts, Foundations and Statutory pipeline, leading income generation from these sources with a personal focus on £100k+ opportunities, while informing the organisation's approach to restricted fundraising opportunities.
• Support the development of direct reports and wider Philanthropy, Partnerships and Events team. 

Person Specification:

• Strong sector knowledge and technical expertise of Trust fundraising, with experience of securing £100k+ support from trusts, foundations and/or statutory sources. 
• Demonstrable experience of developing and fundraising for restricted projects, monitoring income and expenditure budgets.
• Effective pipeline development skills and the ability to support a Prospect Research function to identify new opportunities.

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. Senior Development Officer (Fundraising)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role:The Senior Development Officer ​plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.

This position provides a full-time, permanent contract with hybrid working hours, consisting of a 35-hour week. The role allows for hybrid work, including remote work from home, with one day per month at our head office in London.

Principle Responsibilities:
​

• To work closely with the Head of Development to research and identify new opportunities.
• Develop, prepare, and submit high quality funding applications, acting as bid writing SME.
• Peer Review support to mentor other team members.
• Work with Head of Development to increase the accuracy of our Salesforce data, resulting in data dashboards suitable to the reporting needs of our funders.
• Collaborate with Development and Senior F&R Officer to implement a team strategy and support a lean process of reporting.
• Work with Senior Finance & Reporting Officer to report impact to our funders in line in the funding requirements.
• To work closely with Head of Development to develop and implement our fundraising strategy.
• Represent the organisation at research based events, developing our understanding and enhancing our delivery.
• Identify new opportunities and working with the team to covert these to applications and funding.
• Lead on individual Giving Strategy, working with Head of Development and Development Officer to expand opportunities.
• Any other relevant duties at the discretion of management.

Trusts and Grants Fundraiser

Offering flexible working with a friendly team, we’re looking for a Trusts & Grants Fundraiser to support The Haven’s financial sustainability through efficient grant research, application, and grant management. You will navigate the world of trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to identify funding opportunities aligned with our objectives and submit high quality applications for support.

Your responsibilities include maintaining a well-organised grant pipeline, tailoring applications to funder criteria, and collaborating with colleagues across The Haven to ensure projects are delivered and measured. Building and nurturing relationships is essential. Your contributions will inform our grants strategy, ensure ethical practices, and contribute to our mission's success.

The role is full-time or part-time (30 hours), and can be remote, hybrid, or office based in Wolverhampton, depending on your preference.

Main Responsibilities

Grant Research, Application and Management:

• Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant-making organisations to align with The Haven’s goals, priorities, and funding needs.
• Develop and maintain a robust grant pipeline, tracking the progress of all grant applications from identification to closure. Include monitoring and review of application and reporting deadlines.
• Collate external research and collaborate with frontline managers and staff, as well as other team members to gather pertinent, compelling information needed to develop robust cases for support.
• Prepare tailored funder applications that match the specific requirements and guidelines of each funder.
• Provide relevant materials and support to The Haven’s communication team regarding grants publicity, ensuring funder requirements are met.
• Work closely with project delivery leads to deliver comprehensive grants handovers to ensure compliance with all grant agreements, terms, and conditions, ongoing monitoring and evaluation is in line with funder reporting requirements, and submission of timely high quality reports.
• Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and monitor expenditure against the project budget, to ensure funds are spent as required and in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation and records, ensuring The Haven’s CRM is kept up to date.
• Stay up to date with statutory contract opportunities and share information with relevant colleagues as and when opportunities arise.
• Support the tender writing process, undertaking research and developing copy with the support of the Senior Leadership Team where needed.
• Support the monitoring and administration of tender submissions, including deadline tracking, monitoring communications received and updating colleague stakeholders.

 
Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and funding partners, and initiate and nurture relationships with new prospective donors and funding organisations.
• Identify opportunities for stewardship of relationships and explore engagement activities and events.

 
Grant Strategy and Planning:

• Contribute to the development of The Haven’s grants strategy.
• Identify long-term funding opportunities and trends within the grants landscape.
• Capture, track, and analyse data to evaluate the success of applications and make data-driven decisions for future strategies.
• Work towards agreed metrics and KPIs.

 
Compliance and Best Practice:

• Adhere to relevant legislation and regulation such as GDPR and the Codes of Fundraising Practice and stay up-to-date and with any changes.
• Ensure ethical practices including transparent and accurate representation of The Haven’s work and achievements.
• Stay informed about changes in grant-making practices and trends.
• Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance grant-writing skills.

The Senior Finance Officer will sit at the heart of our Operations Team, reporting to the Head of Operations and the Co-CEOs and playing a crucial function in ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the organisation’s financial functions.

This will include all day-to-day management of our financial systems and banking, including our accountancy software (Quickbooks) and our internal financial spreadsheets. This involves recording and tracking the income expected from funders, processing invoices and payments, preparing payroll and producing monthly reconciliations and termly budgets. You will also work with our teams to ensure compliance with our financial policies, process expenses and work with our external accountants each year to provide the information needed for our accounts.

You will also research, advise and steer on both necessary changes to our processes, policies and procedures and standalone project work which may involve tasks such as reviewing our pensions processes or any savings and investments. You will understand and enjoy the challenge that working at a charity with multiple complex funding streams brings.

You will have experience of similar work, ideally in the charity sector and will be familiar with the use of both accountancy software and managing cashflows and budgets using Excel. You will have excellent communication and people skills as well as a proactive approach to problem solving and be methodical with a very keen attention to detail.
