As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. You will be responsible for sourcing and delivering contracts and partnerships essential for the charity’s sustainability by advancing our digital outreach and nurturing new partnerships and securing sustainable funds for innovative models of support. 

What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families. 
• Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
• Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids. 
• Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services. 
• Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery.  Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability. 
• Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
• Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best. 
• Model and lead effective communications with all colleagues that bring to life the charity’s values and behaviours. Support colleagues to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practice are evidenced in service design and delivery. 
• Act as an ambassador for Kids on key platforms, carrying out media work as required; promote the charity’s products, services and work; and draw from services expertise to influence public policy and legislation relevant to disabled children and their families.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. The role

Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. About You

You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. Staff management

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to support women and children who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. Every year we work with over 500 people across Oxfordshire, supporting them on their mental health recovery journey including helping them plan for the future, engage in meaningful activities such as gardening, crafts, woodwork and cookery, find paid work, or get into training or education.

As Service Manager at Restore you will work flexibly across a cluster of sites, mixing logistical support and direct service delivery and planning, with the opportunity to feed in to the development and innovation of our recovery services, helping to ensure the quality of our services remains second to none.

What are we looking for?

You have a good understanding of the third sector, and demonstrate empathy with people with lived experience of mental health problems. You take pride in developing positive working relationships both internally and with external stakeholders.

You have an awareness of the stigma and discrimination those of us with experience of mental health problems encounter, and are determined to play your role in challenging that.

You are able to remain calm under pressure when dealing with sensitive staffing or member issues, and know when to seek support / escalate.

Essential (E) and Desirable (D) Requirements

Qualifications / Experience and other

1. GCSE English and Maths Grade 5 or equivalent (E)
2. At least two years’ experience in the voluntary sector or similar experience in a social or health care setting (E)
3. Experience of working with people with mental health problems (E)
4. Significant experience of managing staff and teams using effective performance management (E)
5. Experience of representing an organisation to a range of external audiences (D)
6. Budget management experience (D)

Skills and Abilities

1. Excellent listening and communication skills (both written and verbal (E)
2. Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities (E)
3. Demonstrable ability to devise, implement and maintain accurate record keeping practices and protocols (E)
4. Demonstrable IT literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office suite (E)
5. Car driver/owner.

Knowledge

1. A working understanding of the value of reflective practice (E)

About our Service Manager role:

As our Service Manager, you will support and enable people with Learning Disabilities to actively participate within the community at large, working within ‘Vibrances’ core values.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of delivering services to people with complex needs, who will ensure that the service users receive a high-quality service, ensuring that their individual sessions are planned, executed, and monitored. 

You will manage and supervise a dispersed staff team and ensure the co-ordination and delivery of a high-quality flexible service for people living in the community that best meets the needs of these individuals.

You will be expected on occasion to work some shifts and weekends when either service needs the additional support of the manager.

Responsibilities as our Service Manager will include:

• Manage the quality of service provided and implementing improvements that reflect the needs of the Service Users
• Managing the care support provided to the Service Users in a non-judgemental way based upon trust, honesty, transparency, and professional standards
• Supporting Service Users with all daily living tasks and outings as appropriate and development reviews
• Supporting people when out in the community and promoting a better understanding and awareness of Learning Difficulties and Physical disability issues in the general community
• Liaising with other agencies / professional bodies, e.g. Community Learning Disability Services (CLDS), Commissioning Services, Social workers, Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists to achieve common goals & highlighting any areas of concern.
• Assisting in ensuring all appropriate records are maintained, in accordance with the appropriate regulatory body
• Legislation, in both written, electronic and multimedia form as appropriate.
• Challenging institutional models of care and behaviour, encouraging and developing innovation
