The Project Delivery Manager will play an important role in helping us to achieve that vision, by working to deliver a State of the Nation review of sarcoma services and treatment in the UK. This will help us fully understand what the barriers are to progress, and the actions needed to improve health outcomes for sarcoma patients. 

This fixed-term and part-time role is ideal for an experienced policy consultant or consultancy firm, or a policy researcher, with experience in running policy, research or public affairs projects, including evidence-gathering exercises, working with stakeholders, and producing report findings. 

Project budget:  An additional £13,000 will be available to support the project’s evidence-gathering, e.g. to help set up and run meetings or events. 

About you: 

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised, goal focused, self-starter with the following experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

• An understanding of the health policy environment, knowledge of health policy including cancer, how it is delivered by the NHS, and ideally rare cancer or sarcoma care.
• Experience of working and communicating well with a range of stakeholders, such as elected representatives, government officials, healthcare professionals, and people affected by health conditions.
• Experience in working with and supporting these kinds of stakeholders, and particularly people affected by health conditions, to give evidence.
• Experiencing in running projects to gather written and spoken evidence, including setting up and running meetings and workshops.
• Experience of working with an advisory or similar stakeholder group.
• Highly effective skills in analysing policy and evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas and information clearly to a variety of audiences with a strong attention to detail, e.g. via written or verbal briefing or reports.
• Ability to work on own initiative and work effectively within a team.
• Highly organised, with very effective planning and project management skills and an ability to prioritise competing deadlines and work calmly under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project management 

• Lead the delivery of the State of the Nation review project, reporting to the Policy and Public Affairs Manager and working with the Policy and Public Affairs Officer.
• Develop and implement an evidence-gathering plan, with clear and achievable timelines.
• Running the evidence-gathering process, including Call for Evidence, and arranging evidence sessions, meetings, or events (e.g., workshop(s) or roundtable) to facilitate evidence-gathering.

Secretariat

• Work with and support the State of the Nation Advisory Group to meet regularly during the review, and to facilitate their role in providing advice and support during the project.
• Schedule meetings, assist members with travel and/or accommodation arrangements as necessary.
• Circulate agendas and papers no less than five working days before meetings (and make every effort to provide any further information requested).
• Listen and act upon members’ feedback and respond promptly to any queries. 
• Circulate minutes no more than ten working days after meetings.
• Analysis of written and verbal evidence received by the review.
• Produce written briefing to support evidence-gathering, via evidence sessions, workshop or roundtable meetings.
• Following the conclusion of the evidence-gathering, draft an initial outline report for the Advisory Group to consider. 
• Also produce draft and full final reports, drawing on received evidence, detailing draft key findings and recommendations, and taking account of advice from the Nation Advisory Group.

External relationships

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with people personally affected by sarcoma and healthcare professionals working in this field, including those giving evidence to the review, and members of the Advisory Group.
• Represent Sarcoma UK at external Policy and Public Affairs events, or meetings with key stakeholders, e.g., British Sarcoma Group Conference, and meetings of the Sarcoma Advisory Group Chairs, when the role-holder may be required to promote or present about the review.
• Develop relationships with key influencers, including parliamentarians, government officials, the NHS, and other stakeholders, to support delivery of the review project.

Internal relationships

• Work as part of the State of the Nation Project Board, to coordinate decision-making on the delivery of activity under the review, to:
  • keep project timelines and outputs on track to meet timelines
  • quality assure outputs, and
  • manage risks.
• Advise and support on engagement with stakeholders to support the evidence-gathering process, the report production, action plan for stakeholders, and development of new Sarcoma UK policy positions.
• Work with other Sarcoma UK teams to support delivery of the review, e.g. communications, digital, Support Line, Patient Involvement Network Coordinator.
• Provide written or in-person updates on the review to the Trustee Board as required.

General

• Attend Sarcoma UK events which form part of the State of the Nation review.
• The role may require occasional travel to meeting and events. Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.

The role:

The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) leads PBHA’s Housing Team to provide a quality housing management service to tenants with additional tenancy sustainment needs. They will provide day to day supervision to other members of the Housing Team. The post holder will work from local offices, with access to PBHA’s main office in Haggerston where appropriate, however some of the work will be in tenants’ homes in the community. The post holder will be issued the IT equipment necessary to facilitate mobile working.

Aims of the post

The Housing team provide work with vulnerable tenants, helping them to sustain their tenancy and participate in their community. The Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing) carries a small caseload, whilst managing a team of Housing Officers.

Specific Responsibilities

Staff Resources

• Supervising staff and volunteers in line with PBHA policies and procedures.

• Completing annual appraisals, sickness absence reviews and performance management.

• Representing PBHA at internal and external meetings as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.

• Ensuring quality service delivery via staff supervision and auditing.

Tenancy Sustainment

• To be responsible for working with a small caseload of tenants within a locality.

• Identifying individual tenancy needs through assessment and an identified Housing Plan which details risks, needs and move on plans.

• Regular contact with tenants as per plan.

• Provide a weekly housing management drop in at PBHA’s hubs.

• Ensure that tenants apply for benefits where eligible, and signpost tenants to information on how to maximise income.

• Record and monitor any breaches of tenancy agreement and work proactively and within procedures to resolve them.

• Liaise with the ASB lead, Income Officer, the Finance and Enterprises and Training departments to provide effective prevention and management of rent arrears, escalating where necessary in accordance with policy and procedure.

• Liaise with colleagues to ensure void targets are met and properties are let within agreed timescales.

• Arrange viewings and carry out sign ups of occupancy agreements and assist in the moving in/out process.

• Ensure tenants understand their rights and responsibilities in their occupancy agreements.

• Deal with complaints, nuisance and tenancy disputes as they arise.

• Work with tenants to promote self-help and mediation approaches to dispute resolution and address and escalate in line with procedure.

• Carry out regular building inspections, helping tenants to report repairs.

• Take pride in PBHA’s property and assets and encourage tenants to do so.

• Enforce the conditions of tenancy that enable PBHA to undertake urgent works such as gas servicing.

• Carry out H&S and fire checks and assessment, liaising closely with others to ensure that follow up actions are completed.

• Report safeguarding concerns as appropriate.

Team Responsibilities

• Be part of the Operational Leadership Team

• Providing a drop-in service at the Hub

• Responsibility for authorising expenditure

• Involvement in the selection and induction of new workers and volunteers.

• Taking part in planning the team’s work and the annual plan

• Ensuring that proper records are kept, and information is passed to other team members as necessary.

• Ensure that PBHA’s systems are accurately updated specifically in relation to contact with tenants and service users.

Customer focused services

• Lead your team in promoting participation and co-production opportunities so that tenants/participants have maximum influence over the development of PBHA.

• Participate in a rota to provide cover for emergency situations outside of regular working hours. The Rota is additional to the 37.5-hour work week.

• Adhere to lone-working procedures.

• To positively respond to, promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.

• To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments.

• To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints rather than blaming others.

• To act within the Professional Standards for engaging with complaints as set by the Chartered Institute of Housing.

General Responsibilities

• Participate in key meetings.

• Contribute to policy development, income generation, strategic and annual planning, corporate and cross-team activities, external partnerships and promotional activities as required.

Access Information 

The post is based at our Hubs. The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users. Clissold and Isledon Hubs have step-only access. The role involves travel within Hackney and Islington and working in tenants’ homes.

Main Conditions of Service

This is a full-time position. The post is for 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays.

Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.

Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus normal bank holidays pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays). This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days.

Salaries are revised each year. The starting salary for this post is £35,692 (SCP 18 – 22). We will usually appoint at the start of the scale.

The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.

In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months).

This role will be primarily responsible for processing of all philanthropic donations to the Foundation efficiently and effectively. You will ensure all gift processing is completed to a high standard, coupled with the successful monthly reconciliation between the fundraising database and the charity bank account. Additionally, you will offer support to the Finance team in their mission to process and report financial information of the utmost quality. Key Responsibilities

• Process donations onto the fundraising database meticulously, adhering to established guidance and procedures with exceptional accuracy.

Knowledge/ Qualifications

• Sound arithmetical abilities (Essential).
• Practical user experience with Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (Essential).
• Previous use of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising system (Desirable).
• CRM user (e.g. Salesforce) experience (Desirable).

A project has been established that is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. One key aspect of this project is the ‘Shades Project’, which focuses on racial justice and faith, supporting schools and churches in developing a culture for all children and young people, regardless of racial background, to thrive and flourish. In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint a Shades Project Worker to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship and to embed the Shades ethos in primary and secondary schools and parishes in Bolton deanery. 

The Shades Project Worker will work with the Shades team in primary and secondary schools, delivering Shades Collective Worship and Shades ‘Faith and Identity’ workshops. They will also lead Shades Ambassadors groups for those children and young people who are passionate about growing in their understanding of racial justice, the Christian faith, and becoming courageous advocates. The Shades Project Worker will also work with Bolton parishes and mission communities to promote the Christian message of God’s love for all of his children, encouraging children, young people, and adults to celebrate their God-given identities and to grow spiritually. 

The Shades Project Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to develop initiatives for children and young people. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to welcoming children and young people into the life of the church. 

The post holder should have experience of volunteering with children or young people in a church and/or school context. They will have a good knowledge of anti-racism and racial justice and a strong passion for a combined focus on the Christian faith and racial justice, as well as experience working with diverse communities. 

To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated, and able to lead in a range of different contexts. They will be creative and able to lead and support activities in schools and parishes. They will be excellent communicators, with good interpersonal skills, sensitivity, and an ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. They will be able to build and maintain effective working partnerships and have a working understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

More about the role 

As a Senior Administrator, you will be responsible for leading a small team of administrators, providing efficient and comprehensive administration services that support our hospital teams. This role will include duties such as: 

• Leading and managing a team of administration and finance members across our three London hospitals, ensuring effective communication and awareness throughout the facilities.

• Managing financial processes such as cashing up, reconciliation, and debt management.

This is a full-time role of 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the work of Blue Cross, and this post, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands. 

 
About you 

The person should have excellent listening, communication, and people skills to handle emotional and complex situations, always balancing empathy with professionalism. You should present yourself professionally to everyone within the organisation and externally, and your work should reflect our values and culture. Arts Emergency has been supporting young people through our mentoring programme since 2011. During this time, we've seen a huge community of mentors from across the UK's  creative industries come together to support nearly 2,000 underrepresented young people to pursue higher education, creativity and careers.

As the London Mentoring Officer, you will work as part of a small team to recruit, match and support mentoring pairs across London. Hybrid working

This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and join Team Together Days in a co-working space in London 2-3 individual days each month. These days are considered commuting days. We are seeking a passionate, dynamic individual to take on the role of Garden Community Hub Coordinator for our site in Tooting.

The role will involve supporting our garden move and coordinating the development of our site and provision in our new space. This will include working closely with the team to develop new projects delivered from the site and coordinating the transition of our operations. You will also oversee the growth and development of the Share Garden Centre, our customer-facing enterprise, enabling it to flourish. You will work closely with our Lead Horticulture Trainer and Head of Training to support the delivery of training and therapeutic activities in the garden. You will report into the Head of Volunteering and Community Services to ensure the smooth transition of the site activities into our new temporary building as well as planning our operations ahead of the move to our permanent new space. You will line manage our Project Support Worker and Cleaner, work closely with the garden team and across departments to develop and deliver our provision for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will ensure the space, activities and provision is a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for students, external members, and volunteers. You’ll be inclusive and person-centred in your approach at all times.

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
