Role Details

Location: Home based, with regular UK wide travel where required. Although the charity has national reach there is a particular focus on activity in Nottingham, Richard’s home town.

Reports to: Board of trustees Responsible for: Project Managers x 2, Communications Officer, Fundraising Consultant, Volunteers

Hours: Part time – 22.5 hours per week

Flexibility: Flexible working is available; the role will require some evenings and weekends work.

Length of contract: Permanent

Salary range: c. £55,000 (FTE - 33,000 pro rata)

Job Summary

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and overall management of the Richard Whitehead Foundation. They will ensure it has a positive impact on enabling disabled people’s ambitions by removing barriers to give disabled people access to the life-changing power of sport. Key Responsibilities

• Work with the board to review and develop the strategic plan for the Richard Whitehead Foundation.
• Develop lead and manage an operational plan and budget to deliver the strategy
• Proactively build, develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, beneficiaries, disability organisations, volunteers, and staff ensuring that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is able to deliver on its objectives.
• To be bold in our ambition to empower disabled people through the power of sport.
• Lead, motivate and inspire the Richard Whitehead Foundation to achieve its goals and objectives, ensuring that the organisation has the right talent and resources to achieve its strategic objectives.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to ensure the sustainability, development and delivery of the Richard Whitehead Foundation and future projects, diversifying our income streams and growing overall income. This will include supporter acquisition, funding applications, event management and donor stewardship.
• Develop and oversee a marketing and communications plans
• To have a hands-on approach to progressing the Richard Whitehead Foundation
• Regular contact with trustees most notably the Chair, and President.
• Ensure that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is compliant with all relevant regulations, including those related to fundraising, governance, and charity law.

This Communications Officer role is available on a fixed term contract and part-time basis. The salary for this role is £35,000 FTE (pro-rata for 4 days a week). This role is also available on a remote basis.
 
You will report to the Director of Fundraising and look after the communications function of the charity. You will support with work on a rebrand, campaign management and continuous updating of the charity’s website. You will produce high quality content which includes, engaging articles, social media and website content, newsletters, flyers, booklets, and impact stories. You will also film and edit reels for social media channels.
 
You will play a key role supporting the Director of Fundraising in managing/promoting fundraising campaigns, initiatives and events. You will also support with day-to-day marketing duties such as reporting website stats, beneficiary feedback, press management and updating directories. 
 
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent copywriting skills and be able to write for a range of different audiences with impact. You will be digitally savvy and experience using WordPress and web analytics tools (e.g. GA4). You will have in brand management and understanding of SEO. You will have experience using design software (e.g. Canva/InDesign). You will have experience executing fundraising campaigns and publishing digital and print content. You will also have experience in working with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
 
Desirably, you will have experience filming and editing reels for social media and basic understanding of HTML.

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

This role is set for 9-month, ending on 12 January 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The Specialist Support Worker role involves early shifts (8:00-16:00) and late shifts (14:00-22:00) throughout the week, including some weekends each month.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. The new Finance Administrator will join our small and friendly UK team for 15 hours a week, starting from June. They will be responsible for effective financial and legal activities of the UK team.

ABOUT MIDDLE EAST MEDIA: We are a Christian organisation producing media and empowering other content creators to move the people of the Middle East towards faith in Jesus Christ. Together with our teams and supporters, we’re using creative media to reach those who need it most—especially in places where sharing the message of Jesus is challenging.

Key Responsibilities

1.Regular Reporting

• Forecast and create monthly cash flow as requested. 
• Report on cash reserve levels with reference to the reserves policy.
• Produce timely and accurate management and financial accounts information, as requested by the Director or Trustees each month, with full explanation on significant areas and variances from budgets, using accrual accounting methods.
• Prepare and send quarterly & yearly reports to the financial team of the International Board.
• Produce other reports and recommendations as appropriate or requested. 

2.Budgets

• Help to generate annual budgets. 
• Work with staff and Treasurer to identify risks & opportunities to help deliver within the budgets. 
• Facilitate financial support and guidance to budget holders.

3.Audit and Year End

• Prepare the information for statutory annual accounts for the auditors.
• Liaise with external auditors or equivalent, as needed.
• Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission on time. 

4.Controls, Procedures, Systems

• Ensure accounting process remains compliant with the appropriate Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice).
• Manage the annual report process to ensure a quality annual report is produced with an accurate and dynamic reflection on the year that the report refers to.
• Provide support in reviewing, monitoring and developing an appropriate and effective financial framework (policies, regulations, procedures and controls) that are in line with MEM’s strategy and values.
• Ensure financial processes and policies are up to date, communicated to and understood by the staff team and the Trustees. Ensure they are also in line with any regulatory requirements.
• Ensure appropriate risk management techniques and financial controls are embedded throughout the charity at strategic and operational levels. 

5.Donor Support

• Deal with any donor queries that come by email.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, field staff and other contacts in the MEM’s database. 
• Support the team with gift acknowledgements.
• Set up standing orders and keep records. 
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations, and regularly submit Gift Aid reclaims to HMRC.

6.Financial Administration

• Input all financial data (income and expenditure) into organisation’s CRM, accounting and other relevant software.
• Prepare and follow up suppliers’ invoices for payment. 
• Make payments for all authorised invoices.
• Process expense claims and make payments. 
• Manage the banking of income (cheques and cash). 
• Schedule transfer of funds to the field on a regular basis, making sure the transfer statements have the right codes. 
• Act as one of the signatories for the bank accounts making amendments, payments and being a first point of communication with bank as required. 
• Liaise directly with the outsourced payroll provider. Prepare, submit and issue P11Ds and ensure appropriate payment. 
• Manage pension details and ensure contributions for all staff are made on time.

7.Other Duties

• Provide support during the recruitment process.
• Collate staff timesheets, keep track of holiday and staff sickness in line with MEM policies.
• Prepare and check monthly payroll details before sending to the payroll provider, including sickness reporting etc.
• Manage incoming post and liaise with Mailbox administration (mail will be forwarded to your address).
• Be the primary contact with the Charity Commission.
• Determine the insurance needs and negotiate suitable policies on a timely basis.
• Contribute to the general operation and activities of MEM’s UK team, attending meetings as required, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in psychiatric hospitals across Hertfordshire.

About the Role:

The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Kingfisher Court or Albany Lodge and HMN Centres, promoting joint working between Kingfisher Court staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.

The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 10 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patient’s homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.

The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive referrals from the ward teams at Kingfisher Court, Albany Lodge and other appropriate hospitals across Hertfordshire.
• Provide practical and emotional support to encourage patients to develop their independence within their local community.
• Facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital back to the community.
• Have a solid understanding on the dual effect of mental health and drugs and alcohol.
• Monitor outcomes and evaluate the service.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of patients using the service is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Embed a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.

What's the role about?

You’ll be joining the RSPB England Education, Families and Youth team and working on our regional partnerships with Girlguiding, particularly in North West England and with RSPB Project Officers to support the development and delivery of our funded project outputs.

Key tasks:

• Support the delivery of engaging training or workshops for young people, both in-person and online, helping them connect with nature and take meaningful action.
• Collaborate with Girlguiding volunteers and RSPB Project Officers to help develop a youth-focused nature and climate action toolkit.
• Plan and deliver a ‘nature discovery event’ for over 100 girls at a partner green space in Cumbria (4-5 Oct), working closely with Girlguiding to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience.

• Facilitate in-person ‘Running Outdoor Nature Sessions’ for Girlguiding trainers in North West England, enabling them to train more leaders.
• Support our partnerships with other Girlguiding regions, to expand opportunities for girls to engage with and advocate for nature across England.
• Collect data to track progress, measure impact and contribute to a project progress and evaluation reports.
• Oversee day-to-day procurement and budget tracking, ensuring resources are managed efficiently and aligned with project needs.

You will be supported in your role by the RSPB Project Officers and Education, Families and Youth Manager, England with opportunities to meet virtually with staff and volunteers, so you feel part of a team and learn about the work of the RSPB and Girlguiding. An induction and relevant training will be provided as well as support to further develop the skills needed for this role.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience in planning and delivering youth-focused engagement that connect children and young people with nature, supported by a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and health and safety practices essential for working in outdoor and online settings.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively to meet objectives without close supervision.

In this new but key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across Yorkshire and Humber region, advising them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS.
