Job description

Here at The Big Issue, we view building meaningful partnerships and establishing relevant and multi-faceted programmes as essential for our vendors to move forward in life.

As part of this work, we are now looking for a Head of Vendor Partnerships and Programmes to join our team as maternity cover on one- year fixed term cover basis.

The Role                                         

As Head of Vendor Partnerships & Programmes, you will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the successful delivery of programmes and the associated project outputs through strong and effective programme management and project/operations delivery. 

Your main priority will be the successful implementation and delivery of the Frontline Review and the Frontline Service of Excellence redesign.

Within this the role is broken down into three main areas.

Project Management: You will act as a critical link between business partners, the business units, operations, and the leadership team to manage, monitor and report on the delivery of TBI strategic projects.

People Management: Leading by example, empowering, and inspiring others

Communication and Collaboration: Working closely with all business units to ensure all key stakeholders are informed and updated as required

Skills & Experience

  • Proven work experience of working within a project management capacity, including strategic planning, risk management, control and change management and supplier/relationship management
  • Proven work experience in developing operational processes and procedures. 
  • Proven work experience of undertaking sound business analysis and developing information into concise reports
  • Considerable knowledge of change management – influencing and directing to facilitate performance improvement 
  • You are confident at managing budgets, and understand the importance of recording and reporting to numerous funders
  • Experience in using excel at an advance level
  • You value the importance of diversity. You understand the huge benefits that diversity brings to generate innovative new ideas, bring fresh and new perspectives, and help build a world that works for everyone

Workplace details

This role can be based in London, Glasgow or Cardiff, we can facilitate flexible working and due to current Covid-19 restrictions within our offices it is likely that the successful candidate will need to work from their home address at least some of the time.
