About the people we support
The individuals you’ll support have recently been discharged from mental health hospitals and are often navigating complex challenges, including homelessness, trauma, and limited access to support networks. Many are in a vulnerable state, adjusting to life outside of hospital while managing mental health conditions, substance use, or social isolation. Your role will be to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support that helps them stabilise, regain confidence, and take the first steps toward independent living, all within a focused six-week resettlement period.

Your new role
The Human Resources Division supports all people management activities across the school and is committed to delivering high-quality and customer-focused services. What you'll need to succeed

London’s Air Ambulance Charity has a small team of pilots who are dedicated to maintaining high standards of aviation in order to deliver our helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) to the people of London. About the role:

Purpose of the Evaluation Consultancy

• Deliver an independent evaluation report of OSH’s impact to date.
• Co-produce a robust, coherent, ethical evaluation framework with OSH’s young people, staff and volunteers which is aligned with OSH’s ethos, Theory of Change and strategic priorities.
• Test and iterate this framework across our residentials, hubs, and leadership programmes.
• Develop tools, templates and staff training to ensure OSH can embed and sustain a culture of learning and impact internally.

The consultant will be responsible for (not necessarily in this order):

1. Design & Deliver an Independent mixed-methods evaluation
2. Co-design & test an impact framework
3. Embedding & Handover

• A refined Evaluation Framework with defined indicators, data collection methods, and ethical guidelines.

• Workshop or training session for OSH staff on using the framework.

Timeline

We anticipate the work to take place across July 2025 - January 2026, with the report based on phases 1 and 2 complete by the end of 2025. The consultant must be available to work closely with OSH teams and visit residentials and hub.

Budget

The budget for this work is £10,000-12,000, inclusive of all consultant expenses and VAT. Compensation to enable the young people’s participation will not be paid out of this budget, but rather by OSH separately.

About You

We are seeking a consultant (or small team) who can demonstrate:

• A strong track record of designing evaluation frameworks for youth-focused or refugee organisations.
• A commitment to and track record in participatory evaluation and co-production, as well as expertise in mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative).
• Understanding of trauma-informed, ethical, and culturally sensitive research.
• Ability to communicate findings and tools in accessible, engaging formats. This includes both written reports and face-to-face training formats.
• Alignment with OSH’s values.

Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide direct, trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

This role is flexible, allowing you to structure your own working pattern within weekdays from 8AM to 6PM. While travel is required, you’ll have control over your diary. The work is challenging but immensely rewarding, requiring resilience, empathy, and a dedication to making a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing direct support to road victims and their families in the Thames Valley region, following Brake’s trauma-informed model of care.
• Managing a caseload of service users, ensuring their emotional, practical, and advocacy needs are met.
• Undertaking comprehensive needs assessments and creating individualised support plans
• Offering emotional and practical support—this can include helping families access therapeutic resources, financial aid, or even facilitating keepsakes to honour the memory of their loved ones

Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old on admission to the Children’s Home).

You will have a key role in making sure our children are safe and happy. You will also be required to work collaboratively with key professionals to ensure that information is recorded and shared appropriately, as well as to enable children to receive the multi-agency support that they require.

If applying for the Day position, you will be required to do sleep-ins paid at £50 each.

If applying for the Waking Night position, you will have the additional support of an on-call manager should there be any emergencies. Further to this, you will be involved in monthly team meetings and receive monthly supervision.

Applicants should have

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (i.e. Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People Workforce with the children's social care pathway) as per Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (England).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working and supporting children and Young People to achieve their full potential.
• Genuine commitment to working with and supporting children and Young People to achieve their full potential; with the ability to build and promote trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• An understanding of the issues facing children and Young People and a basic understanding of safeguarding Regulations and Procedures.
• The ability to cope effectively with challenging behaviour.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and if applicable, sleep-in’s.
• Commitment to undertake any mandatory training (outside of working hours) and continuous learning to ensure a high level of service.
• Creativity, enthusiasm and energy to inspire and encourage young people to achieve their goals.

Within the Chief Executive’s Office, the UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence Department are focused on creating lasting change. We influence decision-makers through stakeholder engagement, public affairs activity and by campaigning alongside people with arthritis. About the role

The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.

This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.

The Policy Officer will also contribute to the wider work of the team, working closely with colleagues in the Nations Teams, the Research Directorate and the wider charity, including by representing us on cross-sector policy groups, drafting briefings, and participating in events and conferences.
