Are you an experienced Chartered Financial Accountant, with extensive experience working in Financial Operations (FinOps) within international charities? RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Director reports directly to the Trustee Board and is responsible for the following:

• Fundraising: Raising funds from a variety of sources to ensure the long term financial security of the charity, particularly focussing on rental income from the facility.

The Epilepsy Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Fundraising to lead our income generation efforts and help drive our mission forward. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing sustainable funding to support world-leading epilepsy research.

With a proven track record in fundraising, you will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy across multiple revenue streams, including corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations and major donors. RLS Caseworker / Solicitor

As a RLS Caseworker / Solicitor you will conduct a small strategic caseload of asylum and refugee family reunion cases and assist on litigation (where eligible) under our legal aid contract to push for better decision-making, secure results for individuals and pursue improvements in the relevant law, policy and practices. 

You will also act as the supervising caseworker/lawyer for the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), which is a specialist casework project delivered by RLS with funding and pro bono assistance from 11 leading commercial law firms. As part of this role, you will supervise pro bono lawyers to provide high quality legal representation for Afghans on matters including family reunion, the ARAP scheme, the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme and others. The project is now in its 3rd year and won the Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership Award at the Law Works Pro Bono Awards in 2022 as well as being nominated and commended for numerous other awards in 2022 and 2023. Please note that RLS recognise that pro bono legal work is always an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, an adequate system of publicly funded legal services. 

Key responsibilities

• Have conduct of a small strategic caseload and provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients
• Supervise the work of volunteer pro bono commercial lawyers on cases
• Deliver training to pro bono commercial lawyers
• Ensure that all legal work is promptly and accurate recorded on RLS’s case management system and keep relevant time recording
• Develop and disseminate relevant information on legal developments in this area for relevant stakeholders, including both the Afghan Community and building the capacity of other practitioners

Job Description

Job Purpose

As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering professional customer service, work collaboratively across the organisation, and contribute to the success of the corporate plan. You will actively support residents and the community, promoting a One Phoenix approach and focusing on providing excellent homes and services while upholding the organisation's values.

Financial accounting

• Oversee payments, purchase ordering, accounts payable, and ensure accurate recording of transactions in the general ledger.
• Lead the annual statutory audit, prepare statutory accounts, and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage tax returns for Phoenix community Housing and subsidiaries (VAT, Corporation Tax) and ensure compliance.
• Approve monthly payroll with People Services, reconcile salary/pension accounts, and ensure control accounts are cleared.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts, process journals, and oversee company insurance administration

Management Accounting

• Collaborate with finance business partners to provide consolidated monthly accounts, financial statements, and cash flow reports.
• Assist the Head of Finance in finalising all financial reports for the Executive Team and Board

Reporting

• Participate in the annual budgeting process and update the business plan until Board approval is obtained.
• Assist the Head of Finance in preparing and submitting regulatory statutory returns to the Housing Regulator, Financial Conduct Authority, and Companies House.
• Regularly review and maintain the Chart of Accounts to meet the organisation's reporting needs.
• Ensure internal compliance with the delegation scheme, report emerging issues, and update the Asset and Liabilities Register.
• Lead or participate in internal audits and stay updated on accounting standards to ensure compliance with best practices.

Rent & Service Charge

• Manage the Rent and Service Charge Accountant to ensure proper accounting of rental and income transactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Inspire and drive team performance, ensuring development, target achievement, and value for money principles.
• Contribute proactively to residents and the wider Phoenix community Housing, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring positive outcomes and cross-team collaboration.
• Commit to ongoing training, model professional behaviour, and adhere to Phoenix Community Housing values, policies, and regulation

The Successful Applicant

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW, CIPFA etc)
• Significant experience as a senior member of a finance team within the Social housing Sector
• Experience of preparing VAT under the partial exemption regime, and a VAT shelter
• A positive approach to excellent customer service, care delivery and a commitment to quality
• Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a Mid sized Housing Association is preferable).

We’re looking for a creative, digitally savvy marketing and communications professional with a passion for educational equality. This role offers the chance to lead on campaigns that span digital, print, and events - creating standout content for diverse audiences focused on students but including teachers, universities, parents, and alumni.

This role sits within the Programmes Directorate, working closely with a small, collaborative team of six led by the Head of Digital & University Access. You’ll be line managed by the Senior Programmes Manager: University Access and collaborate extensively with the central Communications Team.

Main duties

Marketing & Engagement

• With a strong audience focus, develop appropriate marketing strategies to support the recruitment of students to Sutton Trust programmes with Programme Managers
• Develop creative content ideas and tactics to target key audiences including creating engaging copy and visual assets for marketing campaigns, including digital content (e.g. email campaigns, social media) and physical collateral (e.g. posters, brochures)
• Create engaging copy and visual assets for marketing campaigns and programme
• Support the capture of content at selected Sutton Trust events, including photography, video, and stakeholder feedback, to enhance marketing assets and engagement strategies
• Lead on the creation or commissioning of programme collateral and marketing assets
• Coordinate stakeholder focus groups (e.g. students, parents, teachers, alumni) to evaluate and refine our marketing and comms strategies
• Work with the central communications team to highlight our programmes and alumni activity in wider Trust communications and the media

Digital, Web and Social Media

• Ensure all programme information is accurate and up to date across the Sutton Trust website and microsites.
• Lead the rebranding and redevelopment of programme microsites and marketing materials in line with brand guidelines and with support from the central communications team.
• Work closely with the Senior Digital Communications Officer and Head of Communications & Advocacy to ensure brand consistency and coordinated scheduling across digital and social channels.
• Manage, plan, and create impactful social media campaigns to support marketing and engagement, with an increasing focus on video content.
• Collaborate with Heads of Department and Programme Managers to produce blog content that supports outreach, partnerships, and engagement.

Data Analytics

• Use internal data systems (e.g. Salesforce, analytics dashboards) to assess campaign performance and inform future communications strategy.
• Regularly track key KPIs such as application conversion rates, social media engagement, and stakeholder reach.

Other

• Keep abreast of digital developments, providing expertise to the wider organisation
• Work with the team to suggest improvements to our marketing and communications strategy

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Experience in marketing and communications planning, ideally in the education or non-profit sectors
• Experience developing content and campaigns targeted primarily at young people, while also engaging diverse stakeholders such as teachers, parents, and alumni.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and digital tools (e.g. Salesforce, Google Analytics, social media scheduling) to drive communications
• Strong copywriting, editing, and content design skills across print and digital

Terms of Appointment

ECHO is a charity that is independent from but works closely with the NHS Guy’s and St Thomas’ heart care network (47 hospitals) to support children affected by a heart condition and their families. The Organisation:
The Hardman Trust is the only charity in England, Wales and Scotland focusing on the unique needs of people on long term sentences.
People facing decades of prison time often completely lose connection with their family and friends on the outside. Depending on the prison, there may be limited access to rehabilitative programmes and educational courses until later in the sentence. It can be hard to maintain hope, and direction, or create meaningful plans for the future.
People leaving prison after 10 years will have different needs to those leaving after 10 months. The world has changed – there are different habits and new social norms. Prices have gone up, technology has evolved, neighbourhoods look different, and the workplace has changed. It takes time to adjust.

The Hardman Trust is at an exciting point in its development as it celebrates the arrival of its new team, the realisation of its first ever organisational strategy and looks forward to the next phase of its journey.
Our successful multi-year applications to the Lottery (Reaching Communities), City Bridge Trust and Bromley Trust means we will continue to be part-funded by them until 2027. The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced healthcare profession/health related professional to join our existing team of Wellbeing Consultants embedded within established UK GenesisCare cancer treatment centres.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, relatives, GenesisCare staff team and Wellbeing consultant team and the wider Penny Brohn UK organization. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, proactive, intelligent, and creative way. Candidates should have experience of working within private or national health related services and have knowledge, experience/understanding of complementary therapies or other support services.

Key role considerations

•  This role will involve working alongside our partner GenesisCare to ensure a holistic approach is taken in aspects of support and treatment.
• The bulk of the patient work is delivery of one-to-one sessions – completing holistic needs assessments, review appointments, consultations, mindfulness, and relaxation sessions.
• The Wellbeing Consultant is responsible for ensuring that patients and their relatives have a positive experience as they move through the Penny Brohn UK treatment support services at GenesisCare.
