About the Service: Our Solace Advocacy Support Service (SASS) teams provide advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living across London. We are recruiting two IDVA positions in our nee Redbridge team.  

About the role: The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic violence. They will hold a caseload of service users identified as high-risk requiring crisis short-term intervention, providing advice, advocacy, and onward referral where appropriate.

About You: We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, experience of supporting survivor’s domestic and/or sexual abuse including strong casework management skills.

About the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Director reports directly to the Trustee Board and is responsible for the following:

• Work with the staff team and trustees to develop and monitor the programme of activities and services.
• Overseeing staff and the activity programme.
• Overseeing the maintenance of the fabric of the building.

Main Roles

• To provide advice and casework at OISC/ IAA Level 2 on immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• To provide supervision to Immigration Volunteers

Specific Duties

• Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the IAA standards and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS).
• Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with IAA registration or similar professional body, e.g SRA.
• Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending training events relating to asylum and immigration.
• To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
• Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate agencies.

• Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.

The post holder will be working with socially isolated individuals to identify meaningfully enriching opportunities to reduce feelings of loneliness, some of whom may have complex and challenging welfare needs, to develop actions plans and coordinate support to overcome any barriers preventing successful connection into these enriching opportunities, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals, have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of the issues affecting the Armed Forces community.  Individuals with a social prescribing or working aged veteran support background are encouraged to apply.

Our operations team is led by the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and includes the finance and bookings & venue teams. This is a newly created role that will report directly to the COO and work closely with the wider operations team.

Scope of role

The Senior IT & Operations Officer is responsible for leading the central coordination of IT operations, managing key relationships with two main contractors (IT and estate management), and ensuring seamless integration of IT infrastructure and estate management services. This role involves overseeing the effective and efficient functioning of both IT systems and estate operations for Toynbee Hall and Toynbee Trading, while prioritising the safety of staff and stakeholders on-site. The officer will proactively identify opportunities for improvement, resolve issues, and maintain a collaborative working environment to support business continuity, operational efficiency, and safety standards across all operational areas. Additionally, they will support the procurement of IT and estate-related items, such as IT kit, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of required resources.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Information Technology & Systems

• Support the COO and wider SMT with all IT related strategy including procurement and streamline of new IT service provider/s. Including setting up KPIs’ and using these to assess performance.
• Manage the setup of new staff – including the procurement of equipment required for the role – this includes all communication tools.
• Managing the relationship and being the key point of contact with the technology suppliers and technology support providers.
• Identifying cost savings/efficiencies in the tech stack.
• Supporting IT KIT refresh plans and purchase, this includes audit of needs and vendor negotiations and lifecycle planning with the COO.
• Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.

Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration

• Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
• Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).
• Be the escalation point for maintenance issues, liaising with the property management company to make sure that issues are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
• Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.
• Work with HR to ensure that all relevant training is planned for and carried out.
• Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
• Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.

About this job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Partnerships team, based in London, with flexibility to work from home. You’ll be part of a growing, supportive and ambitious team, raising significant income to support people living with and affected by MS.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Corporate Partnerships team, internal and external stakeholders, to identify mutually beneficial new business opportunities building a healthy and robust prospect pipeline.

These partnerships will generate income for our Services and Support projects as well as our exciting Stop MS Appeal; the MS Society’s ten year research-focused national appeal.

With a creative, logical and enthusiastic approach, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting events, develop compelling proposals and innovative fundraising initiatives.

Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Delivering income at or above the agreed budget level from corporate relationships and activities as agreed within the annual budget and business plan

Band 7 Counselling / Clinical Psychologist

Reports to: Clinical Lead, Dose of Nature

Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative psychologist to join our warm and friendly team at our Dose of Nature hub in Surrey. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive funding to expand our reach, particularly increasing accessibility to our service for clients living in the Waverley area.

We are seeking a psychologist with passion for the natural world and there is great potential for the psychologist to lead on areas in which we seek to develop and expand. The post-holder would be closely supported by the psychology team, as well as the wider team, to do so.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature.  We deliver ‘Nature Prescriptions’ to adults (aged 18+) referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

Our Dose of Nature Prescription is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing.  Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team.

The nature of the role requires occasional evenings and weekends to cover monthly volunteer training evenings and social events as necessitated by the needs of the charity.

Key Responsibilities 

Clinical 

• To carry out psychological assessments of clients referred to the service, to reach a psychological formulation of the client’s difficulties and understand their wider contextual needs, and to support those clients throughout their journey with Dose of Nature, offering ad-hoc support where needed.
• To subsequently pair clients with an appropriate volunteer Nature Guide who then delivers the Dose of Nature Prescription.
• To review clients at the end of their Dose of Nature Prescription and ensure that those clients who would like to and / or need to, maintain connection with Dose of Nature by attending groups, social events, and through ad-hoc support.
• To maintain relationships with GP practices and other referrers, and to inform them of client progress.
• To support the Clinical Lead to offer workshops and presentations to other agencies, professional colleagues and in the wider community.
• To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, staff members and volunteers contributing to a client’s recovery.
• To undertake risk assessment, formulation, and management of clients and to provide advice to the Dose of Nature team on psychological aspects of risk assessment, formulation, and management.
• To actively promote client involvement in their recovery and service development.

Teaching, Training, and Supervision

• To receive and provide regular clinical supervision.
• To gain additional experience and skills relevant to the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide clinical placements for trainee counsellors and / or trainee psychologists where needed and if appropriate, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills and experience to contribute effectively to client recovery, utilising the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide advice, consultation and training to staff and volunteers.

Management, Leadership, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development

• To participate in identifying and implementing the development of a high quality, responsible and accessible service.
• To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit
• To participate in the management of psychological resources available to the team.
• To manage the workloads of assistant and trainee applied psychologists.
• To be involved, as appropriate, in the short listing and interviewing of assistant psychologists
  and other staff.
• To provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance
  standards both individually and as a team. 

Research and Service Evaluation

• To utilise theory, evidence-based literature, and research to support practice.
• To undertake appropriate research and provide research advice to other staff undertaking research
• To undertake project management, including service evaluation, with colleagues within the service to help develop service provision.

Members are an important source of volunteers for our governance and peer support groups. They help shape the direction of our work through our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the work of the Board of Trustees and other committees.
