The SHEQ Officer is responsible for overseeing, implementing and managing health, safety, environment and quality management systems to ensure a safe, compliant, sustainable and efficient working environment. • Development and management of our global Health and Safety management system.

Key responsibilities

As the SHEQ Officer, your key responsibilities are as follows:

Health & Safety:

• Develop, implement, and maintain a health and safety system that complies with legal requirements and best practices.

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of local risk registers

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

• Identify opportunities for improving safety practices, energy efficiency, and sustainability in Workplace Services.

The ideal candidate

• Relevant Health and Safety qualification
• Relevant qualifications in Environmental, Quality and Wellbeing practices, including audits.
• Educated to a degree level (or equivalent substantial industry experience).

Health & Safety Experience:

• Proven experience in health and safety management, including developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with safety legislation, regulations, and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.

Environmental Management Experience:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental policies and management systems. 
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 14001, EPA regulations).

Quality Management & Supplier Governance Experience:

The Opportunity

The Director role is a new opportunity working across ImpactEd Evaluation. Our partnerships encompass education organisations such as charities, edtech organisations and government, and schools and multi-academy Trusts. Across all our partnerships, we aim to design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions for children using good evidence.

As a Director, you will be a senior leader of the evaluation practice and a statutory director on our Practice Board. Reflecting this, you will have a key role in the success of the practice, both commercially and in terms of social impact, and help to shape and deliver the strategy for ImpactEd Evaluation as a practice within ImpactEd Group, reporting to the Practice Lead.

The role will be a combination of business development, oversight and support of evaluation delivery, and strategic responsibilities. You will lead a number of sales and marketing campaigns, and support the design and delivery of our product offerings within those areas, as well as other priority strategic projects. You will also lead on a small number of high-priority partner engagements directly, and play a significant role in overseeing and quality assuring partnerships led by others.

The role would be ideal for a candidate with deep understanding of research and evaluation, a track record in business development, and the ambition to shape the leadership and direction of a growing social enterprise.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

At the Youth Endowment Fund, we are working to create lasting change. To succeed, we must build a world-leading body of knowledge on the violence that affects young people and how it can be stopped. This means producing rigorous, relevant evidence — through synthesis, data analysis and in-depth research into young people’s lives. But knowledge alone isn’t enough. We must make it accessible and actionable: showing what works, how services need to change, and how the systems around them must adapt. And we must partner with the people who can make change happen — across policy, practice and local systems — to turn evidence into impact.

About the role

The Research Lead will lead the development of YEF’s research, resources and recommendations in our neighbourhood focus sector.

We focus our efforts on seven essential sectors: education, policing, youth justice, youth sector, children’s services, health, and neighbourhood. “Neighbourhood” refers to our work supporting local partnerships – such as Violence Reduction Units (VRUs), community safety partnerships or the new Prevention Partnerships - and hyper-local approaches like our neighbourhood fund. 

Their primary responsibility will be to develop a series of actionable and evidence-informed guidance and resources for use by local violence prevention partnerships. This will include self-assessment tools for partnerships to assess their effectiveness, tools for understanding the nature of local violence problems and how they could be solved, and resources to support partnerships to identify and safeguard vulnerable children. Creating these resources will require the Research Lead to collect insights and evidence from across YEF’s work and develop YEF positions on fundamental questions about violence prevention. If successful, the Research Lead could have an outsized impact on YEF’s strategy and mission.  

These resources will support YEF colleagues to deliver our new ‘Area Leaders Programme’ (ALP). This is a new programme which you will help form. It helps local multi-agency partnerships to find and implement the best ways to prevent violence. YEF is working directly with partnerships, providing high-quality professional development, tailored advice and support, system mapping, and a national community of practice. The ALP focuses on strengthening five key elements of effective violence reduction:

1. Building strong and accountable partnerships
2. Understanding local patterns of violence
3. Identifying and supporting children most at risk
4. Improving safety in high-risk places
5. Sharing best practice across agencies

Following a pilot in four areas in 2024/25, the programme will expand to 20 more areas over the next two years. This will lay the groundwork for wider national initiatives, such as the Young Futures Prevention Partnerships, and support implementation of the Serious Violence Duty. The Research Lead will develop resources and guidance for the ALP. As the programme is delivered iteratively, they will work closely with YEF programme leads and local partnerships to test, refine, and improve materials before wider rollout.

The Research Lead will be part of YEF’s Research team. The Research team is at the heart of our efforts to learn what works and put it into practice. We do this by developing the YEF’s funding strategy and creating free, highly accessible research summaries and actionable recommendations for policy makers, commissioners and practitioners. We’re a high-performing team which values intellectual rigour and getting to the truth, compassion for children, ambition about what we can achieve and humility about what we know. We love to discuss the latest developments in research methods, but we’re not just interested in research for its own sake. We want research to lead to actual changes in outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities

The Research Lead will develop a portfolio of impactful projects.

· You’ll lead the research team’s work in our local neighbourhoods and partnerships priority sector. You’ll become the YEF’s expert in this area. You’ll make sure we understand the key issues, stay on top of the latest research and are connected to the right people.

· You’ll ensure we produce accessible, evidence-based resources and guidance that local partnerships can use to develop more effective strategies. You’ll work with YEF colleagues to test, refine, and improve materials before wider rollout

· You’ll set the YEF’s research agenda for your sector. You’ll make sure we invest in research that fills important gaps in knowledge and leads to important changes. You’ll ensure that our strategy and decision-making are informed by the best available research. This is a great opportunity to influence large amounts of funding and direct it towards the most impactful projects.

· You’ll develop great relationships with experts and represent YEF in external meetings and events. You’ll promote evidence-based policy and practice by speaking at conferences and events.

· You’ll lead the development of evidence-based recommendations in your focus area. You’ll draw on research and expert insight to identify potential changes to policy and practice. You’ll design and develop innovative and impactful resources which support the application of your recommendations.

· You’ll take on other responsibilities appropriate to your role. This could include leading the publication of YEF’s evaluation reports or writing ad hoc briefings and evidence summaries for the Government and other partners.

About You

You are this sort of person:

· You want to play a significant part in reducing the level of violence affecting young people. You care about having an impact. This might mean you’ve worked directly with young people at risk of becoming involved in crime, for organisations that fund or deliver relevant programmes, or have conducted research on this topic.

· You share our belief that an evidence-based approach is our best hope of preventing violence. You’re fascinated by research, but you’re not just interested in research for its own sake. You want to achieve actual changes in outcomes for children.

· You know a lot about violence prevention, especially local partnerships and structures like VRUs or Community Safety Partnerships. You know the key ideas and debates, recent policy developments and key people. You’re comfortable talking about this topic with experts.  There are many ways to acquire this knowledge. You might have worked in a local authority or local violence prevention organisation, conducted research on them or learnt about them during a degree.

· You’re a confident reader of research and have strong critical appraisal skills. You know when research can be trusted and when it can’t and can confidently articulate your views on the strength of research. You might have gained this expertise through your academic studies, research or professional experience.

· You have at least three years’ experience working in a role that required you to think about research. This could include a range of roles in policy, academia, funding or practice.

· You write in a way that people easily understand. You have that rare skill of writing in plain English. You have experience of translating complex research findings into plain writing that everyone can understand.

· You have excellent project and time management skills. You can work independently, quickly and to a high standard. You have experience of managing contractors or budgets.

· You are good with people. You’re comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenges when required.

· You learn fast but remain humble. You like learning. You’re very good at synthesising information. You know how much you don't know and that you can always learn more.

· You work well in a team. You care more that good things happen than who gets the credit. You support your colleagues to produce excellent work.

We do this by partnering with secondary schools across England and Wales, delivering a fully resourced programme that inspires an entire year group to connect with local charities and take meaningful social action - from fundraising and volunteering to campaigning and raising awareness.

Each programme culminates in a celebratory School Final, where student teams present their projects to an audience of peers, teachers, and guests. The winning class is awarded a £1,000 First Give grant for their chosen charity - but every participating student contributes to their community and gains skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of social issues. We currently partner with over 200 schools each year, helping thousands of young people become active, engaged citizens

This is an exciting time for First Give, as we have recently launched our three-year strategy and our ambition to activate the generosity of a million young people by 2034. In order to meet the requirements of the organisation for this ambitious growth a new 3 year fundraising strategy has been developed which includes expanding and diversifying our fundraising streams into Corporate and HNWI. We have also recently launched recruitment for a Fundraising Campaign Board Chair. The Campaign, A Route to A Million, aims to raise an additional £1.5 million over the next 3 years. We are also embarking on an ambitious regional growth strategy to grow and deliver our programme to more young people than ever across England and Wales.

Team Administrator

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated administrator who would like a varied role.  The successful candidate will provide cross-departmental support and administrative support to the Director and Senior Leadership Team. There is real scope for the candidate to shape the role and gain experience from involvement in various organisational projects. Key responsibilities

Providing support to the First Give team, primarily the SLT

• To be the first point of contact for enquiries to First Give by email and telephone
• Provide administrative support for First Gives Board of Trustees and SLT, including scheduling meetings and meeting minutes
• Supporting with communications to stakeholders e.g. schools, facilitators or funders as needed
• Managing First Gives relationship with external contractors such as printers and Salesforce support

Overseeing and managing financial administration

• Setting up and tracking payments to contractors and charities in our banking system ensuring timely completion
• Processing, reviewing and identifying outstanding invoices (including working closely with school finance departments to ensure timely payment of school contributions)
• Administering expenses and pre-paid card system, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded each month
• Provide regular monthly tracking reports on payments to the Director

Administering First Give’s charity grants

• Carrying out due diligence for winning charities to ensure comply with First Give donation rules
• Liaising with winning charities to arrange payment and ensuring accurate records of payments processed
• Running monthly reports on payments for the Director

Providing support to the Programmes team

• Supporting the Programmes team with recruitment of judges for school finals
• Managing First Give’s programme resources stock, ensuring we have enough programme documents and equipment to resource the programme
• Management of coursebook printing and distribution to schools

About the Role

Working with the team to offer 1-1 peer support to anyone accessing HMN. The Peer Support service provide tailored support for individuals to support their needs. This includes using different tools and techniques to help an individual improve areas of their life they may be struggling with. Having a lived experience of mental health issues or supporting someone who has is a key element to what makes this service so unique.

The Peer Support approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity and compassion. Peer Support is based on the recognition that there is no better person to support the path towards recovery, than someone who has walked a similar path as that person.

To meet client needs, and work to this personalised approach, we do support people out in the community, within their home, as well as in one of our Wellbeing Centres. Being able to drive and having access to your own vehicle (or equivalent) is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will need a personal understanding of mental ill health, either from your own lived experience or by caring for someone with a mental health condition and have awareness of issues in mental health service provision.

Peer Support Workers will also provide support within our Peer Support Groups, Peer Support Learning Sets and Peer Support Academy when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Care and Engagement

· Frontline Supporter Engagement: You will be the first port of call for our supporters, managing inbound communications across phone, email, and various digital platforms.

· This includes warmly handling enquiries, taking and processing donations, and escalating complex issues to ensure a seamless and positive experience for everyone.

· Creative Communications & Gratitude: You will take the lead on thanking our supporters and making them feel valued.

· This involves drafting personalised acknowledgements, finding creative ways to share the impact of their support, and sending welcoming messages to new event participants.

· Collaborative Team Support: Act as a key support pillar for the Public Fundraising Team, especially during peak times and events.

· Your role will be dynamic, involving everything from on-the-day event assistance to managing logistics and taking ownership of specific fundraising activities.

· Digital Community Management: Help us maintain a vibrant and supportive online presence by monitoring shared inboxes and assisting with the moderation of our social media communities during key campaigns and fundraising challenges.

· Process Improvement: Develop and maintain essential resources, such as FAQ documents, to streamline our processes and ensure consistent, high-quality information is shared with our supporters.

· In person support for several key owned events and other organised events each year, outside of core business hours as needed, for example – by supporting our London and Brighton marathon teams on the day (time off in lieu will be available).

Supporting Public Fundraising Campaigning and Administration

· Provide essential administrative support across the Events, Individual Giving, and Major Donor fundraising teams, contributing to the efficient operation of campaigns and activities.

· Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing, logging, and acknowledgement of incoming donations and fundraising income.

· Perform data entry tasks, including setting up new regular gifts, and creating and updating communication records within the CRM system (Access CRM).

· Support the administration and stewardship journeys for fundraising events, assisting with tasks such as registration support, participant communication, and logistics administration.

· Provide surge capacity support during busy periods, particularly for high-volume activities like Facebook Challenge moderation and campaign-specific administration.

· Assist with the preparation and mailing of supporter communications, appeals, and stewardship materials.

· Some on the day support for fundraising events and logistics planning and delivery. This may involve some work outside of core working hours for which TOIL would be available.

Collaboration and Operational Efficiency

· Work effectively within our evolving Agile framework, which empowers teams and individuals to work collaboratively with transparency, with key teams to plan, prioritise, and deliver high-quality supporter engagement activities.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all teams, including Public Fundraising, Resources, Patient Projects, Finance and Communications, to ensure a joined-up supporter experience.

· Identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and supporter satisfaction, wherever possible.

Database and Compliance

· Adhere to all Prostate Cancer Research policies, procedures, and the staff code of conduct.

· Collect and maintain records and data both on CRM and elsewhere regarding supporter interactions, enquiry themes, supporter feedback, questions, interests etc. For helping us to improve.

· Maintain a proactive approach to learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to supporter engagement, fundraising administration, and the cause of Prostate Cancer Research.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

Data Insights Officer

This is a newly created Data Insights Officer role within the Systems team, where you will significantly enhance the capacity and expertise in data analysis and reporting.

You will be instrumental in embedding a data-driven culture, driving analyses and insights to feed into decision making throughout the Network.

The focus for this role will be supporting the Network's young people’s engagement strategy. The Data and Insights Officer will contribute to reporting design, ensuring data informs decision-making at all levels, and will provide ongoing support through tracking the impact of new young people engagement initiatives, helping identify indicators for success.
