As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.
As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:
· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.
· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.
· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.
· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.
· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups
· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.
· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.
· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic
violence
· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.
· A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing black and minoritised women and girls affected by domestic, and intimate relationship abuse
· Experience of multi-agency partnership working
· Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Immigration, Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.
· Experience in running support groups in the community
· Ability to work with interpreters and volunteers.

The ideal candidate
We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to be our named competent person for statutory compliance; covering health & safety, fire, water hygiene, electrical safety and environmental standards. You’ll coordinate planned and reactive maintenance - liaising with external contractors, keep accurate compliance records, and produce clear, risk-based reports for senior management. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, escalating issues and key strategic budget decisions as required.

Reporting to the Senior Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever-increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
- Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail, with excellent customer care
- Prioritise answering incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to the Senior Supporter Care Manager
- Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
- Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
- Be responsible for thanking our supporters, including by letter, email and phone, dispatch of information and fundraising materials
- Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
- Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing, administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date. This will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
- Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
- Manage the removal process and consent process
- Assist with sending out problem payment letters
- Following up cancelled regular payments as part of the winback process
- Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on the Database
- Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
- Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
- Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Senior Supporter Care Manager and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Supporter Care Manager
