The Team

We are a diverse and welcoming team of advisers, who use a wide variety of creative methods to deliver personalised, client centred, personal careers guidance, ranging from one-to-one sessions through to group guidance, parents and options evenings, as well as focused talks and assemblies. We have minimal admin and keep our clients’ experience central to what we do, providing an inclusive service with individualised action plans, including the use of visual career maps, career cards and white boards, alongside more traditional approaches where appropriate.

We follow the CDI code of ethics and best practice for Action Planning (which names and recognises CXKs innovative work in this area):

The team is led by Chris Targett RCDP, who alongside his work at CXK, is the current Chair of the Careers Writers Association and co-author of the recently released Career Development and Inclusive Practice book, published by Trotman Publishing in partnership with the CDI.

The team is small but impactful. Feedback from our young people, that tell us about what our students valued regards our services:

The Role

The Careers Adviser will travel across Kent, Medway, West Kent and Mid Kent Regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required.

Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.

You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.

We would require you to work five days-a-week, term time only, with a pro rata holiday entitlement. If you would prefer part-time only employment (minimum of three days a week), this can be negotiated.

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience of delivering CEIAG in schools / colleges, face-to-face with young people Enthusiasm
• A willingness to deliver activities during school timetables; occasional evening events rebalanced via “time off in lieu.”
• Knowledge of Post 16 and Post 18 education and training routes for young people with and without additional needs and disabilities
• Adept at juggling activities and travel, emails and routine project admin; balancing school site work with homebased preparation and admin
• Experience of Microsoft products and ability to use them effectively, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Head of Individual Giving

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Head of Individual Giving to lead and grow our individual giving programme.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll shape and deliver our individual giving strategy, overseeing the recruitment, retention and development of individual supporters. You’ll lead on our major appeals, including an annual national campaign to Catholic parishes across the UK.

Our consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home.

The Role:

The Marketing Assistant will play a key role supporting the Marketing & Communications team in implementing the integrated communications strategy and providing marketing support for the promotion of hospice services and income generation activity.

Your day-to-day tasks will be varied but typically will include assisting with delivering our social media calendar, creating engaging content for use across our communication channels, writing copy for press releases and arranging photo calls, assisting in print and publication production, and updating content on the website.

What you need:

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar marketing role or have a qualification in marketing or communications and demonstrate a strong team ethic and creative flair. You must be highly organised and have excellent communication and relationship building skills. You’ll need to be able to work well within a busy team and able to work on several projects simultaneously.

It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. Basic Services offered include food, showers, clothing, housing & welfare advice, medical care, and access to laptops. The Centre opens to service users 7 days a week, 8.30am– 1.30pm. The working week for this post is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm each day.

Housing & Welfare Advice Workers must have a commitment to homeless people, which includes acceptance and respect. Responsibilities are shared among the team according to needs, skills and aptitudes. The annual salary is negotiable (depending on your experience) ranging from £31,746 to £36,678. About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the Finance department and provide a first-class management accounting service across the Museum.

The Museum is undergoing an extraordinary transformation, as part of its long-term Masterplan. We have built a new state-of-the-art collection research centre near Reading, begun construction of a new Energy Centre, and appointed world-renowned architect Lina Ghotmeh to rejuvenate and redevelop our Western Range - accounting for over a third of our galleries.

This Management Accountant role will have a particular focus on the Masterplan's capital programme, and particularly the Energy Centre. The Energy Centre is an essential part of our journey to a net-zero carbon future. It introduces a modern, site-wide upgrade to our primary heating and electrical infrastructure.

This role will work very closely with the Estates and Capital Projects team preparing timely and accurate management accounts, analysis and forecasts for the capital programme, helping to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, such as preparing material for our consolidated financial statements and liaising with internal and external auditors, partnering with departments to deliver projects, and contributing to the Museum-wide budgeting process.

Key areas of responsibility

• Working with the management accountants and accounts processing team to provide best practice accounting, processing and reporting services to all Museum staff.
• Preparation of financial reports and forecasts.
• Preparation of material for the consolidated financial statements and liaise with the auditors.
• Ensuring compliance with public sector and charitable sector regulations and guidelines.
• Analysis of Museum-wide income and expenditure streams to monitor and improve efficiency and profitability.
• Providing and reviewing financial information for business cases and funding applications.
• Supporting the Estates and Capital Projects team on project reporting for the capital programme.

About you

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with a CCAB accountancy qualification.
• Good technical knowledge of relevant Accounting Standards and regulatory framework, income tax, NI and VAT.
• Audit experience, including some post qualification experience.
• Ability to identify, handle and deal with complex problems across a wide range of disciplines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to resolve problems swiftly and effectively and make appropriate decisions.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Archivist and Records Manager to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Rhodes Trust Archive.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start with us in December.

The role

The role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Rhodes Trust Archive, including maintaining an enquiries service for internal and external users, appraising and accessioning new material and cataloguing records. This includes both hard copy records in off-site storage and electronic records, in the organisation’s digital archive. There is also some responsibility for managing current and semi-current records within the organisation, including working with colleagues on data protection and retention.

The role will be responsible for;

· Maintaining an archives enquiries service for the general public, staff, Trustees and Scholars, including carrying out research on behalf of users, and arranging access to view archive material

· Appraisal, selection and cataloguing of uncatalogued records, including both hard copy and digital material

· Assisting the Trust with the ongoing management of records under data protection legislation and good practice

· Evaluation and implementation of digital archiving, including establishing procedures for ongoing transferal of records to the archive

· Promotional work including displays, and presentations, and writing articles on topics relevant to archives and records.

· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation.

· Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested.

· A deep commitment to the values, ethos and mission of the Rhodes Trust.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

· A first degree, and a postgraduate qualification recognised by the Archives and Records Association (ARA) is essential

· Working knowledge of GDPR

· High level written and spoken communication skills including the ability to draft correspondence independently

· Confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy

· A high level of initiative, efficiency, and attention to detail

· Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, and work without direct supervision

· The ability to undertake research in order to analyse and understand the archives

· Proficient Microsoft Office and database skills, including an aptitude to use IT to best enhance efficiency, and adapt to rapidly evolving IT packages and systems.

We're looking for a Day Centre Receptionist, someone who can be the first point of contact at our busy day centre in Camden, where as many as 70 young people a day regularly access for support. The receptionist will be embedded within our Youth Work team, providing both an administrative and young people focused role. The role will suit an approachable and dynamic individual, who thrives working under pressure and is motivated to deliver the best possible service to young people.
