To plan, prepare and teach online (initially) courses for adults within the WEA programme of work, as agreed with the appropriate Education Coordinator. To carry out the administrative tasks required in each programme area. As a Sessional Tutor you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of the WEA’s policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing students of their obligations:
- Plan, deliver (online using Zoom) and report on your course, using methods and materials appropriate to the student group and course content. A scheme of work, course outline and lesson plans should be used for this and made available to the Education Coordinator, class visitor or inspector when required;
- Prepare/adapt appropriate teaching materials on Canvas (the WEA’s virtual learning environment) (N.B Preparation time is implicit in calculations of tutor remuneration) - Training on our virtual learning platform will be provided;
- Identify/assess the needs of students and if necessary adapt course content and delivery style to meet these needs. Where a course is inappropriate for a student direct them to another course or provider. Deal appropriately with individual student support needs, using the appropriate forms and recording the required evidence as per the guidelines provided. Advice or assistance can be provided by the Education Coordinator, Education Support Assistant or the Tutor Support Team in the relevant Support Centre;
- Comply with the WEA policy on Equality and Diversity so that all students are treated with respect and dignity in an environment in which a diversity of backgrounds and experience is valued. Deal with any harassment or discrimination issues that arise;
- Discuss Learning Outcomes or Moderation Requirements with students as the course proceeds;
- Enable your students to participate in the WEA by affording time for distribution of any relevant notices or information, and ensuring they know about the organisation and how they can become a voluntary member;
- Liaise with Branch/Centre Head/Caretaker to be aware of venue, resources and administration, including procedures in case of fire and other health and safety issues;
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning. Assess students’ work. Keep records of students’ progress and ensure students are given feedback on their progress;
- Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to students as required;
- Ensure that all required paperwork, including enrolment forms, learning outcomes forms, Tell Us About It! forms, awarding body paperwork and other registration forms and course registers, including the Tutor’s Report and Claim Forms are returned to the relevant Support Centre, within two weeks of the end of the course (It is vital for funding purposes that these documents are received promptly) - The tutor will collate this information on Canvas.
- Undertake continuing professional development required to maintain your professional status. Attend relevant induction and training meetings as required by the WEA. It is essential that you attend at least one briefing event per year;
- Where appropriate, attend moderation meetings;
- Maintain contact with your Education Coordinator, and inform her/him immediately of any changes, cancellations, or other significant problems. In an emergency, please contact the Tutor Support Team in the relevant Support Centre. Maintain contact and liaise with Branch or Partner organisation, where appropriate;
- Represent the WEA throughout the course;
- Any other duty, which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of the WEA and the funders and is within the remit of this post.
The successful candidate must have occupational knowledge of childcare, a level 5 Childcare qualification and level 5 Teaching qualification.
The successful candidate must be IT literate and will have some experience of teaching online. Training will be given in teaching using Zoom and Canvas which are the platforms used by the WEA.

Job Overview:
To work in a partnership with Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust to support people in the community working with them for up to 6 weeks to prevent admission by maximising income, reducing debt, improving confidence by using person centred approach. AIMS / PURPOSE OF THE POST
Trust House Lancashire is a Rape and Sexual Assault Support Centre and provides a range of services for individuals of all ages and genders affected by rape or sexual abuse.
The service currently provides specialist counselling for adults, and therapy; art and play therapy as well as talking therapies for children and young people. We have a Therapeutic Wellbeing Programme that’s works with individuals to support their wellbeing and recovery by providing practical and holistic support and self-help strategies to empower recovery. Our Specialist Family Support Project works with children and families where a child in the family has been subjected to sexual abuse. We also have group provision, and a comprehensive training programme for working effectively with victims of sexual violence. The service is undergoing a period of significant growth across both our adults and children’s services.
We’re looking for someone that can support the development and growth of our adult services (25years+).
The Adult Services Manager will be based at our centre in Preston and the post-holder will be prepared to travel county wide as we deliver counselling at a range of satellite spaces across the county. There is currently some office based working but this is subject to change as we respond to the current pandemic situation. Going forward we would expect that some level of home working would be maintained so that time would be split across office and home working.
As Adult Services Manager you will work with individuals who have been affected by sexual abuse or assault at any time in their lives. You’ll be responsible for carrying out and co-ordinating the assessments of adult clients aged 25 years + referred into Trust House. You’ll do this in partnership with our Senior Adult Therapists and other team members. You will deliver counselling to a small caseload of clients, and co-ordinate the allocation and delivery of counselling and support work by a committed group of staff, volunteer and sessional counsellors working alongside other team members. You will also be pro-active in working alongside our CEO to drive the development of our service offer to adult survivors of rape and sexual abuse. Your clinical experience as a therapist, and within the sector will be essential in guiding the growth of the organisation to ensure our services are shaped in best consideration of client’s needs, remaining trauma informed and enabling the trustees and CEO to make sound judgements and decisions regarding service growth and development.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Adult Services Manager has responsibility for:
- Overseeing the day to day practice across the adult services team to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Planning, co-ordination, delivery and development of Trust House Lancashire’s adult services enabling us to deliver a holistic and high quality counselling and therapeutic service to clients.
- To provide clinical guidance and development support across the range of services delivered at Trust House for adult survivors.

- Ensuring team use of systems (Lamplight CMS) in accordance with procedures, facilitating consistency of service quality.
- Overseeing and reporting to the CEO on the provision of clinical assessments, waiting times of clients.
- Managing project monitoring, reporting and outcome evaluation procedures in line with Trust House Lancashire’s established protocols and providing activity reports for the CEO for contract monitoring and reporting.
- Providing clinical oversight of Trust House Lancashire’s introductory training, CPD content, and external training offer and where appropriate contributing to delivery.
- Managing counselling project budgets in partnership with the CEO.
- Participating in monthly line management, clinical supervision and team meetings.
- Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principles.
- Working according to relevant practice guidelines; The Survivors Trust National Service Standards and the BACP and UKPT Ethical Framework.

- Deliver inspiring and diverting activities = Each year, the programme will deliver at least 25 co-produced activities including sports, creative arts, wellbeing workshops, free play, tuition support, educational workshops, offsite trips, training and mentoring.
Each role will however have slightly different areas of responsibility as follows:
Youth co-ordinator 1 (BDCA)
This post holder will be specifically responsible for coordinating: four outdoor MUGA sports sessions and one outdoor BMX session per week; year round Saturday volunteering sessions for young sports leaders; support to complete Duke of Edinburgh award scheme led by specialist partner and an annual music production project led by specialist provider. They will also be directly delivering: three virtual activity videos per month; two annual residentials for 15 participants; three-week summer volunteering placement with accredited Sports Leadership Award for 30 participants; monthly Stepping Up life skills training and social action campaign planning workshops plus regular mentoring calls for 15 participants; annual music premiere event for up to 100 attendees; and 10 day trips per year for up to 15 participants.
Youth co-ordinator 2 (RP)
This post holder will be specifically responsible for coordinating and delivering five evening youth clubs per week including a tuition club, journalism club and three drop-in free play sessions with creative workshops. They will be charged with leading the project’s monthly youth forums during the above sessions and also supporting participants to attend borough-wide Youth Citizens Assemblies and Area Youth Forum meetings. So as well as delivering high quality inclusive activities in safe supervised spaces, this new Project Coordinator will focus on increasing access to platforms where youth voices can be heard and younger leaders are supported to help steer local services to boost engagement and impact.

The service consists of both clinical and psychosocial and is CQC registered to provide a range of clinical interventions including BBV & health interventions, OST, and community detox, as well as robust family and carers and service user involvement provision.
The Role
This is a vital role within our Greenwich service which will be critical to providing safe and effective care to the residents of Greenwich.
To do this we are looking for a passionate and professional person to fill this post, key requirements include:
- Have a caseload of service users and proactively engage those not currently engaging with the service.
- Agree care plans for service users presenting with drug and alcohol use.
- Work with service users to achieve their care plan objectives; this will include supporting and delivering interventions.
- Support colleagues by providing training and advice regarding the management of drug and alcohol users and their needs.
- Work in partnership with clinical and psychosocial colleagues and external partners.
- Hold clinics to assess the needs of service users

- Key tasks and responsibilities

You will be expected to:
- Co-ordinate the counselling service including referrals, assessment, assessment liaison, allocation of client work to team.
- Liaise with other agencies and organisations in relation to service users, taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Provide assessments and counselling.
- Ensure all relevant administrative tasks such as maintaining case notes, client records, outcomes recording and case management are completed,up to date and held in accordance with NIWE policies and procedures (e.g. Information Governance, confidentiality), using current NIWE systems.
- Ensure comprehensive service monitoring and to evaluate the service, producing reports for the Board, funders, CO, Annual Report etc. where required.
- Contract manage freelance counsellors and trainee therapists / volunteers, liaising with external supervisors / placement managers as required
- Assist CO with recruitment and induction of new employees
- Oversee clinical work and ensure it is delivered according to an agreed plan, in line with NIWE service plan
- Ensure that any adopted quality standards are met, organisational issues are understood and to identify and implement improvements in clinical practice, and to implement policy and procedural change
- Continuously improve service delivery
- Attend clinical supervision with a supervisor mutually agreed with NIWE
- Attend and actively participate in line management, team meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in the development of NIWE services by working with the CO on continuing service quality and development with input to funding / contract bidding as necessary.
- Attend and actively participate in Board of Trustees meetings as required.
- Deputise for the CO when required and appropriate.
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of NIWE’s strategic planning.
- Work in harmony with the Charity’s values, demonstrated positively through the work.
- Respect others and value diversity including by actively promoting and ensuring good equal opportunities/equality and diversity practice.
- Develop and maintain good communication and effective relationships with all NIWE colleagues and external partners and other stakeholders.
