About the role
This role is required to support the Mentally Healthy Universities Trainers with online training sessions.
Responsibilities include:
- managing the registration process for each course and be aware of attendees on the course, following procedures if anyone suddenly leaves without notice.
- managing the chat box on Zoom, responding to needs and queries as appropriate.
- monitoring and maintaining awareness of the participants at each session, and if someone shows signs of distress, or if you have concerns about a student’s welfare, be alert to this and move that person to a breakout room on Zoom or have a phone call. From there, follow agreed protocols to deal with any safeguarding issues. Where appropriate, signpost participants to alternative services to support their mental health and complete appropriate paperwork, keeping the MHU Project Lead aware of any action taken.

Sessional Counsellor Role Description
Purpose: To support adult clients who have experienced any form of sexual violence
Time: Flexible: weekdays / evenings / weekends.
Location:Flexible: remote support plus CARA locations across mid and north Essex.
Supervisor: CARA Practitioners
Hours required: A minimum of five CARA clients per week.
Rates: Rates are £25-£30 per hour, counselling rooms provided free-of-charge.
Qualifications:Counsellors must be qualified and have completed a course that is accredited by BACP or UKCP.
Main tasks are to:
- Support at least five CARA clients each week
- Attend clinical supervision
- Attend line management meetings
- Abide by CARA policies and procedures
- Abide by BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy
- Maintain and update accurate database records of clients
- Attend relevant training
- Attend monthly CARA meeting
What we expect from the counsellor:
- All counsellors must attend and complete specialist training.
- Attendance of one CARA Meeting per month.
- Attendance of monthly line-management meetings.
- Attendance of clinical supervision, provided by a CARA-approved supervisor.

Groundwork London’s Employment and Skills Department is seeking a proactive and skilled ESOL Tutor to join our Employment and Skills Training Team. The role supports the Training and Skills Manager, and also has responsibility for managing Sessional Staff and Volunteers supporting the Tutor in the delivery of training to migrant clients.
The successful candidate will work on Reclaim which is one of a group of integrated projects designed to support refugees and migrants (Third Country Nationals) with their integration into UK society and culture through a programme of holistic activities, coordinated and delivered through three key competency areas: Language, Preparation for Work and Cultural/Community activities.
The ESOL Tutor will be responsible for delivering group and one-to-one conversational English language sessions under the ‘Language’ strand of the Reclaim project.
