About the role

The Natural History Museum at Tring, Hertfordshire, welcomes 145,000 public visitors a year to our Victorian galleries as well as visitors to our research collections held on site. Our Housekeeping Team are crucial to providing a clean and safe environment for all visitors and staff in the Museum. As part of this team, the Museum & Housekeeping assistants’ role is to provide and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness within the Museum’s galleries and spaces, carry out portering duties, non-specialist maintenance tasks and supporting the Museum’s team in gallery exhibit conservation.

Working 36 hours per week on a five out of seven-day Rota, which includes one weekend in four & public holidays.

About you

We hope to hear from people who have experience of commercial cleaning & minor maintenance with a good level of physical fitness that enables you to spend much of your working day carrying out physical activity. With record visitor numbers to the Natural History Museum, this fast-paced environment requires adaptability within the role, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Experience working in a customer facing environment would be desirable, with an understanding of health & safety regulations, COSHH and environmental matters beneficial. You are confident working independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team with strong communication, administrative & interpersonal skills while having an ability to be flexible and use your own initiative. You’ll thrive on multitasking and working at pace, supporting your colleagues while consistently providing outstanding service. Working to a rota and following set operating procedures are essential. Good ‘IT’ skills, including the use of Microsoft applications for administrative tasks & an interest in Natural History and Heritage would also be beneficial to the position. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Registrar to join our team based in London. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £32,780.70 per annum.

Purpose of the Assistant Registrar role:

As our Assistant Registrar, you will contribute towards administering the legal and logistical aspects of collections management for outward and inward loans, the maintenance of the Accessions Register, and coordinating regular auditing checks

Key responsibilities of our Assistant Registrar include:

• Support in the development and maintenance of Collection policies, procedures, and standards
• Ensure that full, proper, and legal documentation of all Museum transactions concerning Collection material is implemented in accordance with Museum policy and procedure
• Assist in the administration and monitoring of the documentation, handling, and transportation of objects in support of curatorial activities
• Help provide advice and training for Museum staff and volunteers on Collections Management
• Act as courier, both virtually and in person, when assigned, for the transportation of objects nationally and internationally
• Keep abreast of changes in government legislation and museum standards relating to Collections Management, by examining current practice in other institutions, by engaging with mutual interest groups and implement improvements as necessary
• Support the wider team in aiding the successful delivery of collections related activities such as exhibitions, touring exhibitions and public events
• Ensure appropriate insurance/indemnity cover is in place for all objects on loan to and from the Museum
• Support with exhibition and touring logistics, including devising loan agreements, obtaining condition assessments and arranging packing and transport or objects
• Ensure location tracking of objects is kept up to date throughout the loan process
• Undertake loan inspections for current and potential outward loans
• Contribute towards the development and maintenance of Collection records, including the Accession Register and documentation systems
• Support in the analysis of CMS data, including research into provenance and copyright status in order to ensure accuracy, conformity with Cataloguing Rules, Collections Management policy and procedure

What we are looking for in our Assistant Registrar:

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a museum or heritage environment
• Practical experience in museum documentation and collections management
• Experience in the use of Collections Management systems, including Collections Management databases, and literate in Microsoft packages
• Experience in an assistant registrar or documentation/collections officer post in a museum or heritage organisation
• Knowledge of UKRG reports and the Government Indemnity Scheme, and the processes involved in administering the scheme
• Experience in undertaking and coordinating storage audits within a heritage organisation
• Knowledge of Collections Management standards and able to demonstrate practical experience of their application in a heritage environment
• Experience handling a wide variety of object types and in moving, packin,g and transporting museum objects
• Knowledge and experience in the logistics of transporting museum objects

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented team as a Dementia Adviser. You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia in West Somerset.
You will;

- Primarily work across the West Somerset area, with the ability to cover other areas of somerset as required.
- Assist people with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs, providing information and guidance to help maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
- Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, and providing dementia support. 
- Develop networks and pathways with partner organisations who work in the field of dementia, ensuring seamless and consistent support and empowering individuals affected by dementia to make informed choices.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone and online and keeping detailed and confidential records.

About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an understanding of dementia, and the needs of those living with and those caring for people with the condition. We are looking for someone who is approachable and knowledgeable to join our experienced and passionate team.
Our Dementia Adviser’s provide person centred support for those living with dementia; in their home, face to face, over the telephone and virtually; to give people the tools, knowledge and strategies to live well and make informed decisions about their future. As a community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings, appointments and venues as well as working from home.

You will;

Bipolar is one of the most significant mental health challenges of the 21st century, with over one million people in the UK with lived experience. That's approximately one in every 50 individuals, around 30% more than those affected by dementia.

The symptoms of bipolar can emerge at any age and the condition is increasingly affecting young people, who are more likely to screen positive than older generations. It also has a profound impact on the families and friends of those affected and the need for a dedicated national bipolar charity has never been greater.

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by bipolar, and we offer peer support at the core of our work. Our aim is to provide a nationwide Peer Support Service for people affected by bipolar and increase the reach of our delivery. • Ensure that all our fundraisers and donors are thanked in an appropriate manner, developing a robust stewardship programme.

• Support fundraising volunteers in a professional but empathetic way.

We will be building our brand, diversifying our income streams and increasing our donors and giving profile. You will manage a small fundraising team and play an important role on our senior management team. You will be experienced in winning large trust and foundation and statutory sector grants, as well as having knowledge around diversifying funds in a not-for-profit context.

Main duties and responsibilities

No two days in our team are the same. We split our time evenly between working flexibly at home and onsite in the office in Bath, as well as being out and about in our community.  You will have a varied role which involves managing a wide range of duties and tasks including. 

• Proactively building relationships with community groups, schools, local businesses, and individuals across our catchment area. 
• Supporting the delivery of fundraising events, from planning through to post-event evaluation.
• Providing excellent supporter care to our community fundraisers and event participants.
• Supporting our community volunteer programme.
• Assisting with marketing, social media, and communications for campaigns and events
• Helping with fundraising campaign and event logistics, materials and administration to keep everything running smoothly

Headway Gloucestershire was established in 1987 and since then we have been working to make a positive difference to the lives of adults with an acquired brain injury. We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre based Day Service and outreach support through our Community Links Service. We provide group and one to one sessions to support individuals.

Open every weekday, Headway House is at the heart of Headway Gloucestershire.  We provide a structured programme of activities for individuals to choose from. Our programme is designed to support participants to work toward their own recovery goals and gain insight into strategies that support individuals to manage the physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and behavioural outcomes which can occur following an acquired brain injury. Peer group sessions enable us to harness the recovery benefits of peer contact and support.

We have been successful in receiving three years of funding to deliver services in up to five locations in Gloucestershire and are recruiting a part-time Support Worker to support the delivery of our Hubs – to meet and support the recovery needs of individuals with acquired brain injury in their community. The Support Worker will be responsible for the delivery of group sessions designed to support individuals with acquired brain injury work toward their recovery goals. Responsibilities include: -

• To deliver professional, impartial, enabling and outcome focused support to Individuals with acquired brain injury. To provide support for clients with complex needs to support their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy.
• Supporting the Hub Lead to schedule, develop and deliver sessions.
• Provide Key-working to individuals: - to use an enabling approach to support individuals to plan and work toward their recovery goals ensuring that planned activities are delivered and support is tailored to meet the needs of each individual survivor to maximise our contribution to their recovery.
• Providing cover at Headway House where required.
• Ensure that safeguarding training and understanding is kept current and that individuals are safeguarded.

Primarily carrying out the role in community Hubs, you will work to clearly established quality standards. You will be joining a motivated and dynamic team of staff and volunteers working to making a difference to individuals with acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.

The successful candidate will demonstrate: -

The role

The responsibility for the Programme Lead is to support the organisation to deliver its strategy and live Scope’s story of change. They will work with goal groups and mission based teams. This will include designing and running workshops to help us develop our strategy and plan our activity to deliver it.

Goal groups play an important role to keep Scope focussed on the impact we want to see. The Programme Lead will manage goal groups and introduce cross-functional planning. Enabling strategy to translated into delivery. The role will develop sessions with the goal groups, ensuring objectives are set and collating insight.

Continuous improvement will be a priority, due to our new ways of working. The Programme Lead will run retrospectives and use feedback to ensure Scope is set up to deliver it’s strategy. They will establish mechanisms for learning and improving. Using findings, they will report and influence key stakeholders. This includes colleagues of all levels across the organisation.

About you

We are looking for someone who can bring out the best in colleagues across Scope. You should enjoy working with others and value collaboration. It’s important that you include diverse voices. You will have the ability to shape activity collaboratively.

We want a strategic thinker with experience leading complex programmes that create social change. You should have strong project or programme management skills. Including the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver at pace.

You will have experience with agile ways of working and helping others use them too. You’ll be open to testing new ideas, learning from failure, and improving how we work. We’re looking for someone who can set up processes that support learning and ongoing improvement.
