Hours- 37.5 hours per week

Salary - £24,700 (£12.67) per hour.

Sleep in shifts paid at £100.80 per shift. 

Weekends paid at 25% premium on the hourly rate

About the position….

• You will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for the children and young people with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting their personal growth and independence.

• Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, you will be to preparing and assisting the children and young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan.
• You will support the children and young people with communication and work closely in a team that has a passion to improve their lives whilst in our care.

• You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.

We provide compassionate, nurturing care for the children and young people who are in crisis and have complex needs, supporting them to move on from a difficult past to a brighter future.

About you….

We look for applicants who have the following skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, a large part of this role you will be working with Social Workers and parents.
• Previous experience in key working with the young people that we support, including primary responsibility in complex cases and being able consider the feelings and the wishes of the young people that we support. 
• Previous experience in shift leading, supervising team members in the absence of the Registered Manager / Assistant Manager, including contribution to assessment and appraisal of the team.
• Have a sound knowledge around the safeguarding of the young people that we support.
• A good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential, you will be writing reports and keeping record of the Children and Young Peoples progress.
• Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.

What is the overall purpose of the role?

At Youth Action Alliance (YAA), our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.

We are ambitious to grow, to continue supporting more young people and influence positive change. To do this we are looking to appoint a Business Support Officer to provide a range of financial support duties and administer the organisation’s general ledger and finance system.

This post will provide high-quality support to the overall operations of the organisation and the team, to ensure the smooth running of the main sites and enable YAA to meet and deliver on its core objectives and obligations.

The post holder will provide administrative support to YAA, covering a wide range of tasks and activities including (but not limited to) procurement coordination, travel and logistics, department meetings and off-site activities, diary management, meeting coordination, and minute-taking for our board and meetings for staff, members and stakeholders.

General Requirements

•  To support the delivery of Youth Action Alliance

• To manage office maintenance, including ordering equipment, stationery and products needed for the day-to-day running of YAA
• To be the appointed Fire Marshall and First Aid Officer on site
• To oversee the Health and Safety of YAA and ensure all aspects are attended to in line with the YAA Health and Safety Policy.
• To create and maintain the security of all sensitive data in accordance with YAA Data Protection Policy, including the filing system and database of the shared drive and in-house hard copies
• To coordinate inductions for new starters, ensure DBS checks and training records are kept up to date.
• To maintain risk assessment and action logs for the organisation
• To ensure the main office is kept clean, tidy and presentable
• To manage memberships, contracts/SLAs, facilitators and referrals of YAA
• To support the CEO and team manager directly with administrative duties
• To add participants, staff and registers of all projects to in-house software and produce reports as/when required
• To process organisational income and expenditure and maintain financial records, including preparing accounts against budgets for the Board of Trustees
• To collate reports and data that support evidence building to demonstrate the wider organisational impact

We're seeking a Freelance Women Off to Work (WOW) Employment & Training Officer to play a key role in engaging and recruiting local women onto this popular employability programme, and supporting them to access accredited and non-accredited training courses through inclusive outreach, programme support, co-design of training opportunities and workshops.

We are delighted to have been awarded funding by the National Lottery to deliver a third phase of our incredibly popular Women Off to Work (WOW) programme. Since 2017, WOW has supported hundreds of local women from predominantly Global Majority communities through holistic training and pathways into work programme.

WoW delivers a blend of life and vocational skills training, promoting general employability and improved wellbeing through work experience placements, internships, job brokerage, practical advice on self-employment and micro-businesses, ESOL classes and more. The programme provides women with opportunities to gain formal and accredited training qualifications and provide support with tailored into-work action plans.

Job Title: Support Mentor (Nights)

Location: Latimer Road, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) - Walking distance from Latimer Road underground station (Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines). Please note that unfortunately this service does not have step free access

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday between 21:00 - 09:00 on a 6 week rolling rota which includes at least one day shift per week, weekends, and bank holidays. 

About the role

Our residents in this service have experienced long term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.

In this role, as a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents. Some key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants.
• Be a present member of the team on the night shift, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.
• Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins.
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals. 

About you

We're looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting people who’ve experienced homelessness and may have complex needs. Our residents are at the forefront of our service delivery, so building trusting and professional relationships is key. You’ll be adaptable, proactive, and confident using your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. Teamwork is essential and having previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, so you'll help deliver care that truly meets their needs. What are we looking for:

• Understanding of the needs of those who have faced homelessness and have various complex needs including mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency.
• Ability to use IT systems to record case notes, email relevant people, and use other software required within the role.

As Assistant Librarian, you’ll be the first point of contact for staff seeking information, helping them access reliable evidence and resources that directly improve patient care, education, and research. By managing enquiries, literature searches, and training, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Marie Curie staff are equipped with the latest knowledge to support people at the end of life and their families.

What you will do: 

• Act as the main contact for enquiries, delivering timely and customer-focused support. 
• Conduct professional health-related literature searches across biomedical databases. 
• Provide current awareness services and deliver information skills training. 
• Manage online journals, books, and subscriptions, ensuring resources are up to date. 
• Catalogue and classify library materials using national standards and the Heritage system. 
• Maintain and update the library’s intranet pages and resources. 
• Support volunteers working within the service. 
• Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property legislation. 

Key Criteria: 

• Postgraduate librarianship qualification or equivalent qualification (mandatory).

We are recruiting a Head of Care Services to join our senior team and to play their part in the ongoing development of our activities, ensuring that we maintain high quality standards and a person-centred approach.  The ideal applicant will have experience in ensuring the care and wellbeing of individuals, ideally with learning disabilities, autism and mental health, including the preparation of the range of paperwork and audits covering all aspects of care in a Day Centre setting,

The postholder will have knowledge of managing staff and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes, experience of interacting with Social Services and Health professionals, knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and managing the minimising of risk, strong I.T and communication skills and ability to contribute as part of a team and on their own initiative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Section A: Service User Wellbeing

· Ensure that we are in receipt of all appropriate current information on service users to fulfil our duty of care and support. This includes by way of examples, information on general health, allergies, medication, behavioural issues, and general interests.

· Ensure we have in place all Individual Risk Assessments as required to fully inform staff members of the needs of each service users and equip them with the knowledge to respond accordingly.

Section B: Parent / Carer and Professional Liaison

· Maintain either in person or through the Centre Care Managers, regular communication with all parents / carers and ensure we create a team approach to jointly working on the wellbeing of the service user.

· Respond to all incoming communication in a timely manner which ensures we build our reputation as a valued provider and support.

Section C: New Referrals

· Provide the focal point on the recruitment of new service users, identifying opportunities from brokerage and other sources, such as Specialist Schools, and ensure that each potential attendee and their parents / carers are supported through the process of visit, taster days, making choices and arranging the financial package.

· Ensure we are able to meet the selection and reporting requirements of each stakeholder seeking to place an individual and that they likewise can comply with our own service delivery requirements. This will be enacted in liaison with the CEO and Head of Business Services.

Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is a local charity that helps people to resolve their legal, money and personal problems. We have been providing free, confidential, and impartial advice since 1972 and helped over 8000 local people last year.

We’ve been working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Care for over 15 years, supporting people with cancer and their families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and confident person to join our Casework Team to help people to cope with the ‘cost of cancer’.

The ideal candidate will provide advice and support in person, via telephone, email and video call to patients undergoing treatment for cancer at Milton Keynes and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals. Macmillan Project Caseworkers will assist clients with complex welfare, debt and housing enquiries. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is desirable, but full and ongoing training will be provided to support successful candidates in their professional development.

This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload and working with people at every stage of their cancer journey. All our advice work is carried out to the strictest quality standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all our advice work complements the wider services provided by both Citizens Advice and Macmillan Cancer Care.

Applicants need to be –

• Computer-literate, although training on our case recording systems will be given.
• Confident in working to performance targets.
• Able to show good communications skills, both written and verbal. These are essential in the role, as are excellent customer service skills with a non-judgemental approach.

Croydon BME Forum, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is tackling ethnic inequalities in health and social care through this “Can You C Me Project”. The Macmillan Team offers personalised support, information, and referrals for individuals affected by cancer, including families and carers, across six South West London boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, and Richmond. Working within a team of three, you will be responsible for two boroughs, Croydon and Merton while supporting colleagues as needed.

As a Project Coordinator for the Can You C Me project, you will play a key role in engaging BME communities to enhance cancer awareness and support. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead outreach initiatives, community engagement, and the organisation of project activities across Southwest London. Each coordinator is assigned a specific set of boroughs, collaborating closely with community organisations, faith groups, healthcare providers, and individuals affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities

· Engage and build relationships with local communities, faith groups, and voluntary organisations to raise cancer awareness and improve support networks.

· Organise and deliver cancer awareness events, workshops, and outreach sessions tailored to community needs.

· Facilitate steering groups with professionals and individuals with lived experience to shape service delivery.

The aim of the role is to gather insights into local people’s lived experiences, particularly around physical activity, by having meaningful conversations in everyday settings like cafés, outside schools, and at community events. These insights will help shape future initiatives that support community wellbeing and development.

Ideal candidates will have strong local ties—preferably living in the area they work—and be confident, approachable, and proactive. The role involves identifying community needs, building local networks, signposting residents to support, and feeding back discussions to project partners.

Flexibility is key, with some evening and weekend work expected. The role reports to the Delivery Leader at Volunteering Matters and works closely with Active Suffolk’s Development Officer for Ipswich. A DBS check will be required before starting.

Casework – The post-holder will carry a specialist caseload, providing advice and casework covering the full range of debt issues and solutions. This includes but is not limited to, dealing with emergencies, making use of the Breathing Space scheme, making offers of repayment, drafting financial statements, advising on insolvency options and providing budgeting advice. They will ensure that income maximisation is carried out and refer to other in-house advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

They will be required to act for the client where necessary and communicate with third parties to progress a case.

Advice will be delivered through a variety of channels including face to face (drop-in and appointments), telephone or digital channels and must conform to the Citizens Advice Quality of Advice standards and funder requirements.
