Our artistic work is underpinned by practical support and advocacy, working with people on interconnected issues such as: housing, substance use, LGBTQIA+ rights, education & training, volunteering and money management.

We are recruiting for the post of Support Worker.
Based in central Manchester reporting to the Housing, Homelessness & Advocacy Lead, the successful candidate will work specifically with male, trans and non-binary sex workers. The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide casework support for people with a range of multiple and complex needs including homelessness, sexual health, mental health and substance use, and to support delivery of our creative provision including weekly creative sessions and creative projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to specialise and take a leading role developing an element of Support and Advocacy, such as outreach, sexual health or mental health.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a new service based in Lewisham, we are looking for a specialist to join the team as a Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis Worker. You will be based within our SLaM Independent Community Rehabilitation Service which runs 24 hours a day. It provides specialist enhanced rehabilitation support to adults typically aged between 18 and 65 who are diagnoses with severe and enduring mental health needs, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. We provide accommodation and support across two sites in Catford.
In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve improved outcomes. You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will work to the long term support needs of our residents and work towards facilitating improved outcomes.
Shift Pattern: This role is part time 22.5 hours per week which could range 09:00- 17:00 or 14:00 - 22:00

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant needs.
Include appropriate substance misuse interventions within support plans for those with co-occurring substance dependence and mental health need devising systematic plans for care; implementing this plan; coordinating the input of others and evaluating effectiveness. - Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with residents/participants to help determine service and support needs and identify where these can be met. Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, recovery, and achievements.
- Encourage residents/participants to identify and define their own goals and work towards being resilient and independent as possible, support with reducing reliance on clinical interventions and hospitalisations.
- Promote active involvement of those with substance dependency and dual diagnosis, assist residents/participants to identify their own strengths, personal interests and goals and support them to access and participate in activities of their choice.
- Undertake time-limited, SMART, and a range of evidence-based interventions such as 1-1’s, including harm minimisation, increasing awareness and motivation through stages of change and relapse prevention.
- Support in creating and maintaining a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents/participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
- Positively promote and support connections with local communities and boroughs of SIG’s services and liaise with other teams to maintain and share knowledge and links to support people to access resources which include print, personal and digital.
- Develop community links and liaise regularly with a range of agencies and individuals across voluntary and third sector services in the community including but not limited to; drug and alcohol services, supported employment schemes, gyms and healthy living programmes, recovery colleges, and benefits and advice agencies.
- Act as a role model for staff of all disciplines and grades working with people with co-occurring mental health, alcohol and/or drug problems.
- Share knowledge and skills to help enhance awareness around dual diagnosis and best practice, challenges, and services available with other services of Social Interest Group.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse and challenging behaviours
- Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental illness who use substances
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
- Able to recognise ill health and additional support and need for interventions
- Knowledge of the interactions between mental health problems and drug and alcohol use and the issues facing people trying to stabilise their situation
- Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation
- Ability to engage those who may be hard to reach, able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others
What we would like, but not essential:
- Experience in delivering training in motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Theory informed approaches and other relevant recovery models

St Mungo’s runs a street outreach service and a number of supported accommodation projects in the region and our aim is to support people who may be affected by homelessness to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently by providing them long term support.
Depending on your skills, expertise and preferences, you may be covering Outreach Worker shifts, where you engage with people who are on the streets sleeping rough, or Support Worker shifts in our accommodation services – this may be day or night.

What we can offer you

In order to provide you with ongoing support you will be allocated a supervising manager and you will have access to training to ensure you have the tools to keep our clients safe. We offer enhanced pay for bank holidays and you can also accrue holiday pay.

The Role
As a Men’s Outreach Worker, you will provide high-quality support to male victims and survivors of domestic abuse who are living in the local community. Facilitating access to a range of interventions and support measures, you’ll work with local and national services to improve and achieve the best outcomes for men, ensuring compliance with our standards, contract assessments and monitoring framework. You will also provide trauma-informed support to a caseload of men and women who are experiencing domestic violence, including those who are high-risk referred through MARAC.

About You

Abbots Bank is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. The Hospital IDVA will be employed by FearFree to develop pathways and processes primarily in Maternity Services and A&E department at Salisbury Hospital. This is a fixed term position until April 2025.
The Hospital IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service embedded within the hospital to ensure all staff are aware of Domestic Abuse, and equipped to ask the right questions and encourage both patients and staff to engage with the support the Hospital IDVA will bring to this environment.
The post holder will assist health practitioners to respond more effectively to domestic abuse, particularly those with complex and multiple needs, and will bring specialist knowledge and skills in empowering clients to seek the right support and move forward.
The work will include providing specialist knowledge and expertise to other health care practitioners to ensure victims of domestic abuse (and their children) are safeguarded from further harm, to provide a strong partnership approach to service provision.
Priority will be given to medium and high-risk cases that are employees and patients of Salisbury Hospital – those who do not live in Wiltshire to be sign-posted to specialist support within their local authority area. To work with all victims of abuse that have health related needs in the Wiltshire area.
Key elements of the role include:
· Providing priority support to both patients and staff at the hospital
· Delivering Domestic Abuse training to all staff at the hospital equipping them to recognise all forms of Domestic Abuse and ensuring they are confident in starting those conversations.
· Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe through safety planning.
· Enabling victims to access and engage with statutory and other services.
· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
· Managing a caseload of medium to high-risk victims and working proactively to support them and their families.
· Develop and maintain working relationships with additional services relevant to this field.
· Ensure services and resources are appropriate and tailored to services users needs.
Key responsibilities:
· Hold a caseload and provide high-quality telephone and face to face crisis intervention, information, advocacy and support to both staff and patients at the hospital who have been identified as victims of Domestic Abuse.
· Proactively assess the needs and risks of clients regularly in line with FearFree policies and procedures, having full regard for case management, MARAC and safeguarding adults and children policies and procedures.
· Complete risk and safety plans for all clients, ensuring risk management and safety is at the heart of everything we do in line with company standards.
· Ensure all records comply with compliance and quality standards and information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
· Engage with all relevant support agencies, acting as the “voice” of both staff and patient victims to seek support to address specific identified barriers.
· Support all caseloads to access external support and sign-post where appropriate to enable caseload to engage with other organisations who can support them on their road to recovery.
· Work proactively to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and upskill all staff within the hospital to be able to identify potential Domestic Abuse, and seek support from the Hospital IDVA.
· Attend regular safeguarding and domestic abuse meetings within the Salisbury hospital and health related settings to discuss active cases as required by the manager.
· Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children of the client and ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed directly with them, having full regard to Safeguarding Children’s policy and complying with the Local Safeguarding Children requirements.
· Advise clients of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, making referrals, attending appointments with them when required, co-ordinating the provision of multi-agency support where necessary, and proactively advocating to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced.
· Proactively look for and implement innovative and creative ways of engaging vulnerable and hard to reach victims, particularly those with multiple needs, and sustain the engagement.
· Participate in multi-agency conferences and meetings in respect of children and adults at risk as required, providing reports and undertaking actions as necessary.
· Work in partnership with key agencies, particularly with Health agencies, to ensure effective joint working.
· At all times protect the safety and security of service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information in line with data protection requirements.
· To be flexible with meeting clients which may involve working outside of normal working hours.
· Produce data, reports, evaluations and undertake research, as requested and directed by the Manager

About the role
As a Resettlement Support Worker, you will work with a caseload of families and individuals who have either arrived in the UK under specific resettlement schemes or who have recently been granted their refugee status. You will support people in the community and their homes, which may be in supported, temporary or private sector accommodation.
In your role you will work with clients on their support plans, guiding them to identify their goals as they begin a new chapter in Lambeth. Support to our clients is holistic and will include: support to register with GP and access/understand UK health system; support to understand and apply for benefits; support and encouragement to engage in Employment, Training and Education opportunities; support to manage their housing and in the case of clients living in temporary accommodation, support to move on to more sustainable options. Fel rhan o ymrwymiad TACT i ddiogelu, rydym yn archwilio sgiliau, profiad, cymwysterau a gwerthoedd darpar staff mewn perthynas â’n gwaith gyda phlant ifanc agored i niwed. Rydym yn defnyddio dulliau recriwtio trwyadl a chyson i helpu i ddiogelu pobl ifanc TACT. Disgwylir i’n holl staff weithio yn unol â pholisïau diogelu TACT.
Nid yw TACT yn derbyn dogfennau CV digymell gan asiantaethau recriwtio allanol nac yn derbyn y ffioedd sy’n gysylltiedig â nhw.
Mae TACT yn cadw’r hawl i newid dyddiad cau’r swydd ar ôl i ni gael digon o geisiadau, felly rydym yn eich cynghori i gyflwyno eich cais cyn gynted â phosibl er mwyn osgoi cael eich siomi.
