Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. Full time (35 hours per week) although flexible hours may be considered; the role may require occasional evening and weekend work  

Working location: Home based. The post holder should expect to come into the office a minimum of two days per month, with the possibility of up to five days per month being routinely required.

BACKGROUND   

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships 

You’ll be ambitious to take the next step and we are on hand to support and offer you training and a positive working environment to allow you to gain confidence and knowledge in the role at a steady pace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.  
• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;

• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and

• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.

Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

All our staff are home-based, and we maintain a strong caring culture of teamwork, mutual support and promoting wellbeing at work.

You may be exposed to traumatic narratives from our Membership, for many this is a reality in their lives. We do provide an extensive framework of clinical and managerial support but you do need to be an emotionally and psychologically resilient individual.

Elders Voice is a local charity serving older people in Brent. We are recruiting a CEO to lead our talented and experienced staff team through a period of change to ensure our financial security.

Elders Voice is an established and trusted charity in the heart of Kensal Green. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Role Summary

This position provides key support for the policy and research functions of the charity, in addition to collaborating on campaigns and public affairs work. You will be responsible for carrying out primary research relevant to the charity’s policy and research functions. You’ll be monitoring and collating new policy and research materials and contributing to public communications including report-writing, blog posts and social media activity. You’ll be providing input into strategic planning regarding policy and research activities. You’ll connect with researchers and policy people from other charities and from universities. Finally, you’ll be attending conferences and meetings on behalf of the charity.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Policy

• Support the P&RM, DR&PA and CEO in responding to public consultations, advising policymakers and working with national policy and research bodies as appropriate.

• Represent the charity in meetings with policy partners where appropriate.

• Attend policy and research conferences on behalf of the charity, providing feedback to the team on key learning and opportunities that arise.

• Work with the SC&PA and DR&PA to draw up influencing strategies to target key stakeholders on policy priorities.

• Monitor external research that helps our policy work and opportunities for collaboration.

• Work with the SC&PA  to engage campaigners in our policy work.

Research

• Work with the P&RM to carry out research activities relevant to the policy and research functions of the charity; including collating and analysing data, and co-authoring reports for both internal and public purposes.

• Work with the P&RM and the Communications and Marketing teams to produce engaging and accessible communication of research findings for a range of audiences. 

• Monitor and collate new policy and research materials, including research reports, policy documents and media activity. Work with the P&RM to produce internal reports where appropriate and to ensure the charity’s activities reflect and respond to the wider policy and research environment.

• Work with the P&RM on external research projects funded by the charity, including support with assessing the quality of bids by external researchers. 

Across both areas

• Produce social media communications where relevant to policy and research. Work with colleagues across the Research and Public Affairs and Communications and Marketing teams to develop strategies for maximising impact, especially in digital communications.

• Contribute to strategic planning by contributing to staff meetings, producing supporting materials and providing feedback on public affairs.

The postholder will also be expected to:

• attend training courses and develop skills as required, sharing learning with other staff as relevant

• in unusual circumstances, work weekend and / or evening hours, for which time in lieu will be given

• undertake other reasonable work as requested by the P&RM.

The Programme Officer role will report to the Programme Manager and sit within the Programmes Team.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a number of our services.  You will have a clear focus of delivering high quality programmes that are run smoothly, efficiently, within budget and achieve the desired outcomes and objectives for both the partners and the young people.

You will support others within your team to deliver high quality programmes from programme initiation through to evaluation that will directly contribute to the company's growth strategy and impact.

The Programme Officer will also be a key member of the department and contribute to systems and maximising efficiency, delivering programme coordination to an excellent standard that produces high impact for our young people and partners.

This role would best suit someone with significant experience leading policy research programmes – in a think tank, consultancy, central or local government, academia or similar. You will have a strong understanding of policy in London and the UK, project management skills, and be able to credibly communicate complex ideas to different audiences – in meetings, in writing, through blogs and articles, and in speeches. You will have strong analytical skills, including a track record of qualitative and quantitative research. You will have experience in fundraising, will have managed budgets, and will be confident working with researchers at different stages in their careers. However, we are less interested in what you have done, and more in what you can do.

This is ideally a full-time role; however, flexible working is embedded within our culture. Position summary

SAT-7 is currently looking to recruit a Development Officer to join SAT-7s Development Department.

The purpose of SAT-7 is to provide Christian television and digital media services to support the work and witness of the church in the Middle East and North Africa.

SAT-7’s Development department works with projects to address often controversial issues in the MENA region such as disability, discrimination, limited educational opportunities, women’s and children’s rights through the TV-programs and through on the ground partners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the activities of SAT-7 PARS, SAT-7’s Farsi speaking channel, including the drafting of fundraising proposals.

Summary of key responsibilities

• Development of fundraising proposals for SAT-7 PARS’ channel projects in cooperation with all relevant SAT-7 stakeholders
• Conduct frequent MENA context analysis with special focus on the situation for Christians, FoRB, women, children, disabilities, education etc.
• Monitoring and managing the correct implementation of the projects (scope, budget, schedule, quality etc.)
• Manage and ensure the necessary reporting of SAT-7 PARS projects carried out with restricted funds.
• Management and development of the portfolio of SAT-7 social-impact projects in line with Communications for Development approach
• Oversee research related to measurement of the success of different projects.
• Work closely with the International Office Communications Department for the portfolio projects.
• Travelling to different SAT-7 offices in MENA when required

Qualifications and requirements

• Be sympathetic with and enthusiastic about the purpose and goals of SAT‑7.
• Relevant university degree is required e.g. Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Theology
• Knowledge of Middle East political, socioeconomics and religious issues is essential.
• Experience in project management, Communications for Development or/and Christian ministry, and the coordination of projects supported by restricted funds would be an advantage.
• Be a proficient communication writer able to express SAT-7’s Christian identity to corporate and statutory funders.
• Outstanding English writing/speaking skills.
• Experience in a similar position is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of Farsi would be an advantage.
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East or North Africa is a strong advantage
• Be very organised with good attention to detail, able to juggle different tasks, meet deadlines, prioritise and delegate when appropriate.

JOB PURPOSE

This role will support the planning and delivery of digital projects and campaigns that aim to raise awareness of the Start Network, build engagement across membership and support the Start team to work in effective ways. The postholder will create, edit and share digital content, manage online communities and will support the planning, development, maintenance and management of digital platforms.

The post-holder will produce and edit a wide range of digital content, including written content and digital media. The post-holder will also support the day-to-day engagement of stakeholders on digital platforms, such as social media, collaboration platforms and other engagement tools. The post-holder will have a good knowledge of best practise in digital while being able to use data to evidence the effectiveness of content and campaigns.

The post-holder will also manage or support new digital developments, such as data visualisation, that will increase stakeholder engagement in our work. Working closely with stakeholders and colleagues, the post holder will support projects to ensure they meet business and audience needs and that they are delivered on time and on budget.

This role will also coordinate third party suppliers in this process.

This role will be full time, based in the UK or another country of Start Network’s operations with occasional travel required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

COMMUNITIES AND CONTENT

• Coordinate the day-to-day communications of Start Network programmes on social media channels. Take part in planning and coordination of content for all social media channels, in line with digital engagement strategy.

• Create and share multimedia content for social media and website (such as gifs, images and video) to build engagement with audiences around the world. Collaborate with Graphic Designer, Communications Officer and external agencies and freelancers in production of high quality content, in line with Start Network’s brand guidelines.

• Manage day to day interaction with online communities (including social media, internal and member communities), track engagement, respond to enquiries and generate conversation.

• Advise colleagues on how to use and manage social media and digital communities for greatest impact – Work with the Digital Manager and Communications Manager to deliver training for staff, introducing new platforms and digital tools to the team.

• To assist with the marketing and promotion of Start Network’s content across the website, newsletters and social media channels and to contribute to Start Network’s marketing strategy as required.

DIGITAL PLATFORMS AND WEBSITE

• Work together with the Digital Manager to manage the development of digital platforms, working with internal colleagues and external developers to identify and deliver a range of projects.

• Maintain website content day-to-day, publishing news and blogs, resources, events and updating landing pages. Working with teams across the organisation on updating all pages regularly.

• Make changes to the website based on data, audience, (UX) and expert research to improve accessibility, search engine optimisation (SEO) and the overall experience of our users.

• Maintain the Start Network website day-to-day, identifying bugs, escalating internally and working with the developers to deliver solutions. Provide website, social media and newsletter activity reports and statistics and evaluate them in conjunction with the Communications Officer.

• Maintain a Digital Asset Management system Canto; collating and storing photos and sourcing appropriate stock images.

• Support the day-to-day delivery of digital projects fulfilling the organisations communications and digital objectives. These might include development of maps or other data visualisation tools and microsites. 

• Support effective development and use of internal platforms, Including our data management and CRM platform (Salesforce), and document management tool (Box) while maintaining high standards of data security and privacy.

• Ensure inspirational, informative and educational content for Start Network and its key programmes is shared regularly through the Start Network website and other digital channels, including e-newsletters and social media.

• Work with colleagues and members to edit high quality content in a variety of media, including photography, design, animation and video content.

• Contribute to building a strong organisational digital culture, design and support training delivery to all staff.

• Work together with the colleagues from the Communications team to provide advice and support to colleagues to raise the quality and effectiveness of content across the Network, through templates, guidance and training.

• Together with Events Coordinator and Digital Manager, provide technical support to online events, meetings and webinars.

• Manage the digital inbox and ensure enquiries are dealt with swiftly.

The Development Officer will be responsible for all aspects of daily fundraising activities for Epic’s key segments of donors (high net worth individuals (HNWI) and intermediaries, entrepreneurs, corporations), including building and managing a database of new leads, outreaching and nurturing. 

This position is based at Epic’s office in central London (St James SW1). 

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Development Director, the missions of the Development Officer are as follows:

1. Contribution to Epic’s Fundraising Strategy in the UK

• Collaborative work with the UK Development Director to shape and execute the fundraising strategy, bringing forth new ideas, networks and results to ensure Epic meets its income targets

• Lead outreach efforts to expand Epic’s potential donor database in the UK : monitor the fundraising ecosystem and engage in proactive cold outreach through Growth campaigns, LinkedIn, emailing, as well as in-person and digital networking activities, including attending at least one event per week which may extend into late afternoon/evening

• Conduct desktop research on individuals, sectors, and event-specific topics as required

• Provide support to other development initiatives and projects as needed.

2. Lead Conversion

• Set conversion objectives and support conversion from leads to donations

• Identify lead opportunities within networks and events, setting priorities accordingly

• Pitch Epic and its various Giving Solutions to potential donors, and build tailored-made proposals when needed

• Maintain high discipline and consistency in follow-up with leads and donors : use Epic’s CRM to build a consistent pipeline of prospects and handle the management of the database with accurate opportunities and donor and gift records 

• Evaluate and monitor the return on investment (ROI) of events and fundraising campaigns 

• Prepare compelling fundraising communications, materials and presentations for donor meetings and events 

3. Nurturing & engaging the UK Community

• Contribute to Epic’s engagement strategy for current donors to ensure an 80% renewal rate

• Maintain regular touchpoints with a subgroup of donors through activities such as sharing monitoring reports, organising field visits in the UK, and scheduling regular calls and face to face meetings. Act as the main point of contact for donors and answer to their enquiries in a timely manner

• Manage community-related administrative tasks to streamline donation processes and act as the main point of contact for donors to answer to their enquiries in a timely manner

• Craft engagement opportunities such as UK events and webinars, including drinks, talks, breakfast events, and annual gala nights. Support will be provided by our in-house dedicated Events team.

Position Requirements : 

• Candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom

• Excellent level of English (both spoken and written), basic level of French (written and spoken) required

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a sales, fundraising or business development role, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Comfortable networking in very different communities and strategic desk research and analysis

• Strong self-discipline and project management skills

• Strong interest in data analysis 

• Ease with database management and knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) 

• Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail

The Epic UK team is a small but dedicated team. The role requires some flexibility and a start-up attitude. 

This is a full time, permanent position, based in the London office with the possibility of two remote working days each week. 

This role reports to the UK Development Director and will involve closely working with Epic’s global development team.

Role Summary

As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). You also contribute to the charity’s strategies, leadership and governance as a member of the Executive Team. Ultimately, your role is to generate new knowledge; and communicate knowledge, ideas and emotions to change hearts and minds, creating tangible reductions in alcohol harm across the UK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership, strategy & planning

1. Lead the research and public affairs functions at Alcohol Change UK.

2. Produce and deliver plans across our research and public affairs work programmes that are ambitious for change (impact), realistic given our resources, and consistent with our strategy, our other work programmes, and our values.

3. Set budgets, tightly control costs and identify opportunities for making savings, growing income and making the case for investment.

4. Appropriately monitor and evaluate our research and public affairs work with a view to knowing, growing and showing the impact we make.

Research

5. Work closely with the CEO, Policy and Research Manager, R&P sub-committee and Wales Office to determine and oversee the charity’s programme of commissioned research, research grants, and in-house research.

6. Ensure that all research is designed with impact-in-mind and, once complete, that it delivers on that impact through active and ongoing communication of the findings to the right audiences with the right messages through the right channels.

7. Lead the research function to be the central hub for the charity on the topic of alcohol harm and its solutions, staying on top of new research.

8. Influence the research spending of other agencies (e.g. NIHR) with a view to maximising funding into alcohol research in general.

Public Affairs

9. Lead and manage the charity’s public affairs activity, deploying the CEO, Research & Policy Officer and other staff as a team.

10.  Lead our work with external alliances, such as the Alcohol Health Alliance and the Alcohol and Families Alliance, and on the APPG on Alcohol Harm.

11.  Develop excellent relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants, charities and other important institutional actors in our field.

12.  Build Campaigner journeys for our engagement audience to best mobilise them to help us with our influencing work.

13.  Lead on the commissioning and management of any external public affairs agencies, parliamentary monitoring services and similar suppliers.

14.  Ensure our policy positions are kept up-to-date, based on emerging evidence and contemporary thinking, and consistent with our principles.

15.  Work closely with the Director of Engagement and Fundraising to effectively mobilise and deploy our activists, Community Champions and other supporters so they (i) make a difference, (ii) become better informed over time, and (iii) remain motivated to campaign for our cause.

16.  Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to influence all forms of media to better support our desired outcomes.

Team Leadership and Management

17.  Lead and manage the research and public affairs team(s), ensuring excellent line management.

18.  Lead the process of recruiting and inducting new team members, as appropriate.

19.  Proactively develop your own skills and experience as well as those of staff within your team.

Cross-organisational Role

20.  Act as a spokesperson for the charity at high profile events and across media, including radio and TV.

21.  Be an active and positive member of the charity’s Executive Team.

22.  Work with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.

23.  Work particularly closely with colleagues in the Wales office, optimising opportunities for joint working.

24.  Contribute actively and positively to the development of charity-wide strategies and activity.

Other Duties

25.  Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it.

26.  Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times.

27.  Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times.

What the job involves

Funding research that will improve the lives of men with, or at high risk of, prostate cancer is one of Prostate Cancer UK’s highest priorities. Prostate cancer is harming too many men, in exchange for too few cures, which is why we are motivated more than ever to deliver a future where lives are no longer harmed by prostate cancer. We invest in the most innovative ideas to accelerate our knowledge and understanding of prostate cancer, and to develop better treatments and more effective approaches to diagnose the disease, so that we can transform the lives of all men with, or at risk of, prostate cancer.

We’re looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Impact Officer to join our Research Directorate. You’ll join an existing Senior Research Impact Officer to support the Senior Research Impact and Intelligence Manager to find, communicate and accelerate the impact of Prostate Cancer UK’s funded research. Taking responsibility for 50% of our ‘completed and in follow-up’ portfolio of research grants, you’ll act as their primary contact, assessing the likelihood of, and proximity to, impact.

You’ll use your scientific knowledge to understand the science behind these projects and communication skills to build strong working relationships with the researchers. With your research experience you’ll develop a detailed understanding of the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from the research we funded and support our research community to accelerate their pathway to impact.

What we want from you

Your role is important to the charity, as supporting research that can ultimately deliver a tangible impact to men affected by prostate cancer is a significant focus in our charity strategy.

You’ll need to be passionate about research making an impact and hold a bio-medical science degree (or a degree in a related subject), with research experience. You can understand complex scientific information presented in reports, publications or presentations and explain these complex concepts in a simple and engaging way to a range of audiences including peers within the charity as well as men and their families affected by the disease. You’ll be motivated to consistently perform to the highest standards, with an eagerness to trial new ideas, identify new opportunities and solve problems.

In any one day you could be helping develop an impact case study for the website, interviewing researchers for project updates, supporting delivery of a research event, or using social media to disseminate the work of our funded researchers. Your primary focus will be on the impact of our funded research, but you’ll also work closely with our research funding team, as well as with other teams across the charity.
