Are you passionate about social media and can lead a small team? We're looking to recruit a Lead Volunteer for our Social Media Team. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for promoting a small charity supporting a rare condition and has the ability to support a volunteering team as well as plan and use platforms and tools for social media including Canva, Google Drive and other digital platforms.
The Social Media Team develops and promotes Burning Nights CRPS Support’s communications online, using social media platforms as widely as possible, in order to maximise our impact and to inspire actions in the public, healthcare professionals, communities and businesses. The promotion of our activities will raise awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and provide support and empowerment to the CRPS community. Communications will also run in line with Burning Nights CRPS Support's campaigns strategy/plan.
This is a flexible volunteering opportunity, which means your commitment can be balanced around your lifestyle - being part of a team to ensure that communications to our community and supporters are up to date and timely.
You will provide leadership for your team and support the development of a communications plan for the charity.
Key Tasks and Objectives
You will lead and support an overarching communications strategy, direction and plans for Burning Nights CRPS Support's Social Media/online communications, create engaging content, supervise the team and encourage high standards.
Tasks may include:
- Managing the Social Media campaigns across social media, which includes overseeing engaging content, writing and editorial, design and artwork from The Social Media Team.
- Help develop social media campaigns and day-to-day activities.
- Prepare graphics for sharing across channels.
- Monitor the impact of social media campaigns; Analyse, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize the charity’s reach.
- Scheduling and posting social media content.
- Capture and report on monthly data from across all social media platform.
- Lead on Social Media meetings or the social media section of Comms meetings.
- Work with the whole Comms & Marketing Team including the Lead Communications & Marketing Volunteer to provide relevant content for their teams to use on social media, providing training/coaching where appropriate.
- Develop, manage content and maintain social media objectives and targets.
- Supporting the Social Media Team to ensure our social media platforms are regularly updated.
- Supporting with the development, preparation and implementation of Burning Nights CRPS Support's Social Media strategy in conjunction with the overall Comms strategy.
- Encouraging others to comment on our posts and share them with others, to ensure that our communications reach a wide range of stakeholders and diverse audience.
- Increasing the numbers of followers and engagement across our social media channels - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok and X, using appropriate tools and utilising relevant channels to reach diverse audiences.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the performance of social media channels/activities using tools like Metricool, Buffer and Google Analytics, feeding back monthly to the Lead Comms Volunteer and the trustees, using the data to inform future activities.
- Keep up to date with the charity and healthcare sectors, events and news, and suggest content to promote through our social media feeds.
- Support new volunteer Social Media Team members ensuring they understand their role or assign them their role.
- Act responsibly with data held by Burning Nights CRPS Support that you may access as part of your role, adhering to guidelines and policies and reporting any concerns or possible breaches to Burning Nights CRPS Support's Data Protection Officer/Lead.
Key Skills or Qualifications
- Experience of using social media platforms, other online tools and Communications to generate interest in a charity, business or project.

Spero is a UK-born, newly formed, youth-led, non-profit global storytelling platform dedicated to sharing diverse perspectives from around the world. We're creating a place for people to look beyond their own borders and to learn and connect with the real lives and experiences of others everywhere.
Our aim is to foster understanding and connection in an increasingly polarised world by sharing authentic stories, building empathy, and encouraging thoughtful dialogue. Part of our mission is to humanise global issues, making them more engaging and accessible - especially for young people who often feel disconnected from traditional news and politics.
We’re looking for motivated people with the passion, time, and curiosity to join our team. Our volunteer roles are a chance to gain meaningful experience, contribute to an impactful mission, and grow your skills in a supportive, creative environment.
Spero is entirely volunteer-run, so these positions are unpaid and remote. But in return, you’ll gain hands-on experience in project management, communications, research, teamwork, creative production, and problem solving all while helping us build something that matters.

All volunteers should have:
- Interest in global issues and diverse perspectives.
- Ability to be proactive, work both independently and collaboratively, and manage time effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in social media management and content creation with Canva (or similar design tools)
- Copywriting for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc
- Graphic design
- Understanding of maintaining branding and visual identity
- Video media creation and editing
- Designing and executing social media strategy
- Conducting market research
- Measuring, tracking and interpreting analytics
What you need to know:
- Roles are part-time, flexible, and designed to fit around other elements of your life
- We are asking for a commitment of about 5-8 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months (but hopefully long-term if you enjoy our work)
- Our team meets on Mondays, 7:30–9:00 pm BST (attendance at most meetings is important, so make sure timing works if you’re international).
- Expected start date Monday 29th of September
- As a coordinator you will provide flexible support to your area of work as well as across the organisation. You will get the chance to take on an area or project with direct ownership and responsibilities.

sheRebuilds
sheRebuilds is a nonprofit project that supports women who have experienced domestic violence by helping them rebuild their lives through psychological support, coaching, and career development.
sheRebuilds addresses social challenges faced by women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on the long-term impact that abuse has on their emotional well-being, self-confidence, and economic independence. Many survivors struggle with trauma, social isolation, and limited access to opportunities for education and work. By offering psychological support, coaching, and career development guidance, the project helps women rebuild stability, regain their voice, and re-enter society with renewed strength and professional skills.
sheRebuilds provides a holistic, free support system for women who have experienced domestic violence. We combine psychological care, and professional coaching to help survivors heal from trauma and rebuild their lives with confidence. Through sessions with psychologists, interview preparation, and LinkedIn profile guidance, participants gain the emotional resilience and career tools they need to enter the job market and create sustainable independence. Our closed, safe community ensures that every woman feels supported, connected, and empowered to take her next step.

No Panic is a national self-help charity, which supports people with a range of anxiety problems, including panic attacks, OCD, agoraphobia, social phobia and health anxiety.
We are looking for a skilled volunteer to co-ordinate our Social Media Awareness Team remotely. This is a team of volunteers including Social Media Awareness Raisers, who film and edit interviews with people discussing their anxiety experiences, for uploading to social media.
The role of the Social Media Awareness Team Co-ordinator volunteer will be:
· To hand out tasks to the team, like creating content and contacting anxiety content creators about appearing on our social media.
· Assist with preparing interviews.
· Check content before it is uploaded to our social media.
· Communicate relevant policy changes to the team..
· Carry out the role of a Social Media Awareness Raiser, if there is a shortage of them in the team.
You will be supported by the Awareness Officer.
We anticipate this volunteering will take up about 4 hours of your time per week.

Qualifications / Skills:

- Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space;

- Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills;
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask;
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years experience with social campaigning, social media marketing or content development;
- 2+ years experience with donor campaign platforms;
- Direct experience using social media management tools;
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook);
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus.
