Social Media Executive Jobs in Home Based
Are you passionate about the countryside and achieving positive social and environmental change? This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the future of the countryside in the Garden of England.
CPRE, the Countryside Charity, was founded almost 100 years ago with the aims of the ‘conservation of what is beautiful and interesting in our countryside and towns and villages; and the encouragement of the right type of development’. Today these words are just as relevant as when they were written in the 1920s and we campaign for good planning, protection from inappropriate development and the enhancement of nature and accessibility in our green spaces.
CPRE Kent is an independent charity, federated with more than 40 CPRE county branches and the national CPRE organisation, giving us local, regional and national reach. The Director will work with our trustees, staff and network of volunteers to formulate local strategy, run local campaigns and liaise with national CPRE.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting Kent’s countryside and represent CPRE at County and National forums and via social, local and national media. The role also involves management of the staff team.
We are looking to fill a full-time post at a salary of circa £55k per annum. However, we would be prepared to consider appointing a 4-day-per-week post at a pro rata salary.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace at CPRE as we believe that diverse workplaces can make better and more creative decisions. Whatever your background we welcome your application.
The Kent branch of CPRE, the Countryside Charity, promotes a thriving and valued countryside for the benefit of all.

About the Role
The Homestead Park has been cherished by communities for 120 years since it was gifted to the people of York by social reformer Seebohm Rowntree (son of Joseph Rowntree) so that all individuals, regardless of class or income, could enjoy time in nature.
At JRF, we’re honouring this heritage and turning the leaves of a new chapter in the story of Homestead Park. We’re looking to the future to understand how on our home soil over the next 100 years we can grow opportunities to support JRF’s wider mission which is to ‘speed up and support the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty in which people and planet can flourish’. We’ll draw inspiration from Rowntree’s radical roots and cultivate the conditions for people to come together to explore the challenges of these times. They’ll connect with themselves, each other and nature, fostering resilient communities where people and the natural world are able to flourish together and plant the seeds for hopeful futures.
Seebohm’s gift represents a tradition of giving back to the community and ensuring that public spaces remain accessible to all. We want to uphold this tradition and not only preserve a piece of history, but also reaffirm our dedication to creating a park and pavilion community space that serves the needs and interests of the people it belongs to.
We will be developing a ten year plan to help to guide our work in Homestead Park and we’re creating two exciting new roles to support this work: the Head of Homestead Park role and Community Engagement Lead. We’ll work alongside community groups and local people to steer the development of the Park and understand how it can serve communities today and for generations to come.

You’ll have a strong commitment to climate action and climate justice and how this links with social justice and nature-based wellbeing. Applications are welcome from all, regardless of age, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, race, sex, sexual orientation, trans status or socioeconomic background. We recognise that we cannot truly be an anti-poverty organisation unless we are also an anti-racist organisation, and we positively encourage applications from people with experience of living in poverty.
We are a Disability Confident Employer. This means that we are committed to the recruitment, progression and retention of disabled individuals. We shall also offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the job. The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.
Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.
This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);
• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;
• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;
• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and
• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.
Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.
All our staff are home-based, and we maintain a strong caring culture of teamwork, mutual support and promoting wellbeing at work.
You may be exposed to traumatic narratives from our Membership, for many this is a reality in their lives. We do provide an extensive framework of clinical and managerial support but you do need to be an emotionally and psychologically resilient individual.
The selection process:
• Applications close: Sunday 19th May 2024
• Long-listing:
• Selection Task sent to Long-Listed candidates: Wednesday 22nd May
• Deadline for return of Selection Task: Sunday 29th May
• Short-Listing
• Online Interviews (via MS Teams): Friday 7th June
As you can see above, if you are shortlisted, you will be sent a selection task.
This task will involve you preparing a plan to engage with a hard-to-reach sector of the UK Military Communities. The identity of this community will be provided with the tasking briefing.
The Intention of engaging with this community will be to:
• Raise awareness of The Ripple Pond and its services with this community.
• Increase our understanding of this community’s needs.
• Increase the charity's Membership (service users) from this community.
We wish you luck in your application
