East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for social media and content creator leads to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project.
There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.
The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
You will be at the forefront of our digital strategy to create a huge new biodiverse park and natural swimming ponds. We’re looking for creative and strategic thinkers who can craft compelling narratives and visually stunning content. You should have a deep understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools to measure and optimize our campaigns. Your ability to build and engage with online communities is crucial, as is your skill in managing media relations. Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to tap in to social media as a whole to communicate openly and confidently about the areas we work in. With this in mind, we want people who have a specialist interest, experience in or want to learn more about one of more of the areas the Living Reasons will be working in and confidently host lives on social media or in our currently being built website option for video drop in live sessions that are two way conversations with people.
This role will mean having to deal with challenging members of the public, there will always be moderators to ensure the people taking part in the live session remain respectful but there may be the need to respectfully challenge people's opinions in an attempt to educate.
Living Reasons will never shy away from complex conversations and being challenged on our stance, we are sure we will learn from these sessions as well.

What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Responsibilities of the Job position
- To be responsible for updating the charity’s Facebook and Instagram on a weekly basis (except Annual Leave Period)

- To collaborate with trustees and fellow fundraising and marketing members on media projects.
- To carry out an audit on the charity’s social media output and deliver a presentation on your findings.

Key responsibilities & objectives of the job:
· To work with the organisation on a remote flexi-time monthly basis to complete tasks (with assistance from our Digital Marketing Lead with task delegation and organising) which could include the following:
(i) Training: Attend remote training events on Neurodiversity and/or Marketing during December, January, March and April.
(ii) Social Media Work: Work together with 2 fellow Marketing Interns to update the charity’s Facebook & Insta on a weekly basis (except Annual leave period) in either of the following monthly-allocated rotatory roles: (i) Researcher- Gather content/material for posts on a weekly basis, (ii) Content Designer- Use Canva to design content for Instagram & Facebook, & (iii) Facebook & Instagram Post Releaser- Release the designed post & attach captions on the relevant social media channels.
(iii) Team Social Media Debrief: Attend and/or minute take for a 15-minute Team debrief with your line manager over recent output. Meetings will be held in January, May, and October
(iv) Website Development: Update the website with QoL changes and other new initiatives during February, & August.
(v) Season Quarter Email Updates Meeting: Meet the Marketing Lead to plan content of the Quarterly Emails for the mailing list.
(vi) Season Quarter Email Updates Production & Analysis: Work together with fellow 2 Marketing Interns in the following roles: (i) Charity related updates co-writer – Co-write updates about successes of the charity that has happened in the last quartile, & (ii) Email Constructor & releaser- Compile the entries from teammates to send a Season Quarter Email Update to the email list. Both roles will also involve analysis of KPIs of the email updates.
(vii) Audit work: Prepare and deliver an Audit of the SPED Awareness Social Media Output
(viii) “Social Media Myth Buster” Team-Based Discussion: Either design and lead or attend and contribute to a team-based discussion with fellow marketing interns critiquing a social media post/YouTube video with a potential misconception about SPEDs.
(ix) Marketing Strategy Review Meeting: Work with our Digital Marketing lead to review our yearly SOSTAC Marketing Plan in June.

Main purpose of job (brief summary): Develop and implement our social media & content strategy in order to increase our online presence and drive stakeholder engagement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a content calendar across all social platforms ensuring a constant supply of relevant content (1 post per week on LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram – initially)

Collate content for, prepare and publish the monthly volunteer newsletter through MailChimp

Identify and engage with key social influencers to create beneficial relationships and strong networks and grow the ADC brand
-
Perform social listening across all social platforms by monitoring and responding to relevant brand mentions and identifying opportunities for engaging in related topics/discussions

Define social media KPIs, measure and optimize social media performance metrics, and develop enhanced reporting

Manage and oversee social media content

Develop and implement E2E fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the fundraising team
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
-
3+ years of experience in social and content management
-
Experience using MailChimp or similar software
-
Experience in designing, managing and executing successful fundraising campaigns
-
Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms
-
Experience of forming relationships with key influencers on social media
-
Good understanding of SEO metrics and social media KPIs
-
Ability to come up with creative content (text, image and video)

Available to volunteer at least 7 hours a week

Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment

Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment

A committed team player with good communication skills.
Desirable

Experience of establishing online communities on social media

Experience working in an early stage start-up and gone through a scaling phase

Passion for the start-up life and comfortable in a role with a little ambiguity

What will you be doing?
We are looking for a number of additional Trustees to actively participate in the achievement of the strategy. We are looking for skills in fundraising, museum operations, financial overview, web and social media, and ideally but not necessarily deep seated knowledge of the sport.

What difference will you make?
They will actively participate in the strategic plan, taking leadership in their field of expertise. Its an exciting time for the Museum and will be for the new and existing Trustees. Gaining accreditation itself is a multi-year project involving the creation of policies, and best practice museum processes. Gaining enough funding is a crucial part of the strategy, as is animation of the museum, and significantly improving the public awareness of the museum.

We provide reusable period bed mats and menstrual education empowering girls while reducing waste.
La Suzy addresses period poverty, lack of menstrual health education, and gender inequality by providing reusable period bed mats and educational programs. Environmentally, it reduces reliance on disposable products, cutting plastic waste and resource-intensive consumption. Through partnerships with schools, shelters, and CSR initiatives, La Suzy empowers girls and women while promoting sustainable menstrual care.
La Suzy provides reusable, eco-friendly period bed mats designed for comfort, reliability, and sustainability. Unlike traditional solutions, these mats prevent messy stains on beds/mattresses and giving girls and women peace of mind during their periods. They are easy to clean and quick to dry, reducing the time, effort, and water used compared with constant washing of sheets or reliance on towels/ multiple disposable products. it is also travel-friendly. Millions of sheets and mattresses are also disposed of due to period stains, all preventable with our bed mat.
Paired with educational webinars and resources, La Suzy empowers girls with knowledge about menstrual health and hygiene. By distributing mats through schools, shelters, and CSR partnerships, La Suzy ensures girls stay in school, build confidence, and adopt sustainable menstrual care practices—all while minimizing environmental impact and waste from single-use products.
Content Creator (Social Media)
La Suzy is a social impact start-up tackling period poverty and promoting sustainable period care. Our hero product — a Reusable Period Bed Mat is a travel-friendly solution that protects beddings/mattresses from period leaks/overflows and helps girls and women manage their periods with dignity and comfort. We’re building a movement around being #PeriodProud and are on a mission to reach 100,000 girls across the UK with free period webinars and access to our La Suzy Mat. We’re looking for a creative Content Creator to help grow our online presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
You’ll create authentic, engaging content that amplifies our brand and movement.
Responsibilities:
- Create and schedule daily posts, reels, and stories across LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Develop content ideas and campaigns aligned with La Suzy’s mission.
- Work closely with the founder to build community engagement and brand storytelling.
- Track performance and suggest ideas to boost reach and impact.
Ideal For:
Someone creative, social-media savvy, and passionate about women’s health, sustainability, and storytelling. Role can last longer than 3-5 months if suits all parties:-).
