The Opportunity

We are seeking an Individual Giving Fundraiser to lead the delivery of our individual giving program, with a focus on multi-channel campaigns, appeals, and supporter journeys.
This role will project manage all areas of individual giving, from concept through to delivery and evaluation, working with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care to maxmise income, deepen supporter engagement, and grow sustainable regular giving.

You’ll be responsible for delivering existing appeals (e.g. our Christmas Appeal and Grand Draw), developing new fundraising products, and ensuring that donors receive thoughtful and inspiring journeys.

At Newlife, we believe every child with disabilities deserves the best possible future. For over 30 years, we’ve been the UK’s leading charitable provider of specialist equipment for disabled children.

We offer an emergency response service, delivering vital items to family homes often within 72 hours. Alongside this, we run a free, nurse-staffed national helpline, provide sensory toys through our Play Pod loan scheme, and campaign for policy change.

Our unique model combines a recycling and retail operation that generates income, creates inclusive employment opportunities, and delivers significant environmental benefits. Along with Support from trusts, corporates, communities, and individuals through traditional fundraising channels.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Giving & Campaign Delivery

• Deliver the individual giving operational plan, managing all campaigns and appeals within agreed budgets and income targets.
• Lead the development and delivery of multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, digital, email, retail-linked activity etc.), ensuring integrated messaging and brand consistency.
• Support the delivery and operations of the charity lottery
• Ensure all activities comply with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, and relevant legislation around data, privacy, consent and Gift Aid.

Donor Acquisition & Retention

• Generate and convert new donor prospects, meeting agreed acquisition and income targets.
• Design and implement a regular giving proposition to acquire and retain committed donors.
• Oversee and optimise donor journeys, ensuring excellent stewardship, cross-sell and conversion opportunities, and seamless progression across the giving pyramid.

Innovation & Insight

• Review and refine the current appeals portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth.
• Work with available data to ensure strategic decisions are evidence-based and data-driven, using segmentation and testing to maximise impact.
• Research, explore and pilot new products and approaches to widen our supporter base and increase lifetime value.
• Set and monitor KPIs, reporting on performance and return on investment.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work closely with colleagues across fundraising to maximise income and supporter engagement.
Develop strong relationships across Newlife’s wider teams, embedding fundraising within the organisation and ensuring sensitive and thoughtful involvement of families where appropriate.

The Job

We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers responsible for organising and monitoring the progress of our puppies and young dogs, when required into advanced training to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.

Responsibilities

Training and Development of Puppies:

• Take responsibility for a group of puppies (approximately 10) allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area
• Provide training that adheres to ADUK regulations and MDD quality standards in accordance with timescales and targets
• To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area
• Conduct regular training sessions with assistance dogs in training in various environments to ensure they are confident and responsive in real-world settings
• To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach desired behaviours and modify unwanted behaviours
• Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and Training
• Support and assist when required with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership.
• To successfully prepare the puppy to pass the relevant Assistance Dog assessments
• Where necessary, highlight to your line manager, any dogs that are not progressing sufficiently through the training programme

Socialiser Support

• Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance, support and instruction to socialisers on effective work and training with their assistance dogs
• Provide general health care advice within your core working hours

Socialiser Recruitment

• When required, assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers
• When required, to assess prospective new volunteer socialisers, including home, workplace, pet dog and children assessments

Advanced Assistant Dog Trainer

• When required, take dogs home during the advance training period to ensure continuous development and reinforcement of training routines
• To arrange the training plan for each dog in advance training that’s under your supervision, including day to day arrangements for training, collection, pick up and holiday cover
• To ensure all dogs receive the appropriate training required, to pass their final assessment
• To work closely with the Medical Alert Assistance Dog (MAAD) team and to support the final stages of the dogs matching process, including agreeing any client specific queries before carrying out the client and dog meet onsite
• To carry out any client specific training on the advanced dogs
• When required, to support the dog and client home stay
• To work closely with the Health & Welfare team regarding any dogs under their supervision
• Complete the appropriate paperwork for training records, assessments and recruitment of volunteers
• Report any concerns, communicate feedback and request guidance where appropriate.
• To successfully complete the handover of the Assistance dog to the MAAD Instructor, within the timelines agreed
• To carry out appropriate feedback to the Dog Supply team on how dogs are progressing under their supervision
• To support with the Temporary Fosterer application process and provide support to the Temporary Fosterer’s who may look after advanced dogs in training
• Where necessary, highlight to your line manager, any dogs that are not progressing sufficiently through the advanced training programme

Other

• Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records
• Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area
• Share best practice with colleagues across the charity
• Other tasks or ad hoc duties agreed with your line manager required to ensure the successful running of the charity

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in training Assistance Dogs
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in dog training
• Basic theory of practical dog training
• Law in relation to dogs
• Knowledge of medical conditions relevant to puppies between 8 weeks and 2 years of age
• Dog and human psychology
• Health and safety implications of dog and socialiser handling
• Experience and understanding of ADUK, ADI regulations and MDD's internal quality standards

Skills and Abilities

Ability to demonstrate high quality judgement and a proven track record in relation to the following:

• Dog training matters including the analysis of temperaments, appropriate training methods and requirements necessary to maintain public perception in assistance dogs
• Solutions to training and behavioural problems
• Socialiser training including the ability to assess each person’s preferred learning style and adapt as appropriate your training approach, the specific programmes to be followed
• Strong and clear teaching and instructing skills
• Ability to plan work, be organised and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues and socialisers
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers and other colleagues
• High level of IT literacy and report writing skills including experience of using Microsoft based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Power Point

About the role:

This role is home-working based in Northamptonshire with travel in and surrounding areas of England.

As a Homicide Service Children and Young Person caseworker you will be:

• Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide
• Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.
• Acting as the designated caseworker and manage a caseload
• Implementing the CYP Homicide Service Delivery Model
• Work closely and support colleagues to provide a trauma informed service to children and young people.
• You will be responsible for providing a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved young people following murder or manslaughter. Working with colleagues in the National Homicide Service, as well as partner agencies including education, police, courts, social services and many other statutory and third sector organisations.

You will need to be able to travel to face to face sessions within, and occasionally outside of region, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

Role Purpose

RISE strives for a world where people can lead safe, purposeful lives as a result of better relationships within families and communities; where harmful behaviour is marginalised and fewer people, are victims of crime. In order to create safe communities, RISE empowers people to break their cycle of harmful behaviour. RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people, including children and young people, can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and wider community.

The Advanced Practitioner will manage a caseload of 70% which will involve direct work with service users. The post holder is also required to coach, mentor and develop staff and deliver regular workshops to enhance their skills and expertise in specific area. Additionally, there is a requirement to exercise enhanced responsibilities in relation to conducting specialist risk assessments and work with service users and families. Such responsibilities will include the ability to demonstrate enhanced levels of practice, competence/skills in areas such as direct practice with service users, children and families, multi-agency working, knowledge of organisational systems and processes and the wider social policy context.

The post holder will be required to represent RISE when meeting with external commissioners and key stakeholders, as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery – 70% of workload

• Engage in direct practice with service users, children and families including, where appropriate, co-working with other practitioners (to develop their skills and expertise).
• Use initiative to make decisions to ensure continuity of service delivery.
• Promote and represent RISE Mutual CIC services as required at relevant events.
• Develop excellent relationships with our customers and something like respond positively to their needs.

Record Keeping

• Support the day-to-day delivery of key projects.

• Complete specialist risk assessments, and reports and upload on the CRM system.
• Support practitioners to record information effectively on CRM system and follow the RISE recording convention.

Product Design and Development

• Partake in design and development of new interventions, including writing an associated manual and training programme.
• Train identified RISE practitioners to deliver specific interventions, whether this is one-to-one or programmes.
• Be responsible for testing/piloting and familiarisation of new intervention and overseeing delivery of facilitators assigned to the contract.
• Act as main point of contact as the technical expert on the project.
• Attend performance review meetings and deputise if required by the Service Manager or Team leader.

Quality Assurance

• in line with the Quality Assurance Framework, quality assure services and programmes being delivered on the contracts, according to the QA Framework in line with recognised procedures.
• Support practitioners to adhere to a quality assurance framework to ensure there is synergy with the delivery of key performance indicators.
• Ensure effective planning for the delivery of the intervention to achieve quality standards and meet contract requirements.
• Support staff to deliver quality assessments, reports and achieve good outcomes with service users.
• Provide support and advice to other team members in relation to their practice and professional development which may include coaching and mentoring staf.

Evidence & Research

• Design intake/exit questionnaires to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of a specific intervention on an ongoing basis, using intake/exit questionnaires, stakeholder, and service user feedback, and adapt it accordingly.
• Support and assist colleagues with the implementation of the Evidence & Research framework for these contracts. Work with research institutions that partner with RISE to contribute to the evaluation of the impact of our new programmes and services.
• Build good thought leadership in a particular area of work delivered within RISE.

Learning and Development

• Deliver training for commissioners and RISE staff.
• Deliver coaching and support workshops and/or Action Learning sets to help staff develop and improve skills, competence and knowledge in RISE interventions.
• Support staff to develop their cultural competence and understanding of culturally informed approaches.
• Contribute to the learning and development of students and others as required. Arrange training, with support from the Service Manager, as requested.

Stakeholder relationships / Performance

We have an exciting opportunity for an advocate to join our team covering Warwickshire and Coventry.  Your role will require you to travel to locations such as hospitals and care homes across the area to meet with clients and professionals and be home based for administration; therefore, a suitable home internet connection is essential.

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working as an Advocate, providing welfare, supporting or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services or advice and guidance.

How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.

How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).  

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
