Role Summary

We are looking for a confident and experienced self-starter to join the Strategy & Communications division as the Government & Parliamentary Relations Manager. Your role is essential to ensure:

• Our relationships generate national and local engagement that helps us to advocate about the issues and practice that can enable high-quality careers support for young people across policy debate and delivery.
• We raise awareness of our work to the extent that our Government and parliamentary stakeholders can articulate what we do and why it matters nationally as well as locally in constituencies across the country.
• We initiate and hold strong relationships across Westminster, maintaining a robust management system to track and monitor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the Department of Education (DfE) (our sponsor department) to help us build strong relationships with relevant DfE ministers, officials and their teams.
• Engaging and building policy-led relationships across wider Government – to enable cross-departmental engagement about CEC’s work.
• Building and maintaining cross-parliamentary support – to increase our awareness and support amongst key MPs and Peers and to respond well to their inquiries and commissions.
• Internal team operations – acting as CEC’s lead for internal government and parliamentary briefing to support the CEO and senior colleagues’ visits, meetings and engagements.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience of engaging through the policy process – (1) developing policy ideas and (2) responding to consultations and briefing requests.
• Proven ability to engage senior and working level stakeholders and manage political, ministerial and departmental sensitivities.
• Communicate well (written and verbal) – confidently and with salience and the ability to not just report moments but offer context and direction. Competent and assured in providing sound counsel to senior colleagues.
• Analytical skills – you will be engaging data and evidence generated from CEC’s work and externally, and will be required to interpret findings and make and communicate connections in an understandable and interesting way.
• Collaborative and good at building relationships at all levels, both internally and with a range of external stakeholders.
• Adaptable, resilient and flexible with the ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity and work at pace.

Age UK are recruiting for a Senior Influencing Project Manager on a fixed term 12 month contract.

We will be developing a number of research, policy and practice development projects in support of our new strategy. These include the 'extremely vulnerable people' project and a new partnership researching older people's experiences pre and post an urgent episode of care or emergency hospital admission.

This exciting opportunity will also take on responsibility for managing our response to the Pandemic Inquiry and relationship with the Health and Wellbeing Alliance. This is initially a 12-month role, with the possibility of extending to 24 months depending on project funding.

The successful Senior Strategic Influencing Manager will take the lead in designing and delivering these complex projects, including management of external partners, consultants or agencies and internal teams as required. The role will work closely with the Policy Lead, Clinical Lead and Head of Health Influencing to coordinate and drive delivery of the organisation's goals and strategic priorities across health and care.

This hybrid role, known as a Senior Strategic Project Manager within the charity, offers flexible working between home and a central London co-working hub. Occasional travel may also be required to attend meetings, workshops etc.

• Ability to assimilate new policy issues/areas quickly, make connections between different policy areas, and initiate and frame new policy agendas.
• Excellent skills in policy analysis with a focus on robust evidence, understanding political and policy contexts, and finding solutions.

Summary of the role:

This role will provide day-to-day administrative support and project support to the department head and the overall team to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to cover parental leave. 

The successful candidate will have accountability for several key areas of operational delivery of BITC’s programmes across England, Scotland and Wales. This role will ensure the high quality and consistency of performance through these aspects of operational delivery and development, working closely with businesses, internal stakeholders and external partners. This role is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing team, delivering programmes and contractual obligations across their patch. The post holder will lead on driving programme/contractual performance (both KPI’s and financial) motivating and inspiring the team.  They will also have responsibility for ensuring continued funding from key partners and securing new income; monitoring and reporting on this important activity as it contributes to BITC's vision within a set geographical area or programme/project areas.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of:

· Managing the delivery of contract and programmes to meet contractual obligations

· Working with business, schools and/or community organisations to create beneficial relationships

· Providing leadership, motivation and development for a dispersed team to achieve excellent results for businesses and beneficiaries

· Securing funding for impact programmes

This is a fixed term contract for approximately 10 months to cover parental leave. 

The location is flexible - candidates can be based at home or at their nearest BITC office.

The salary level for this role reflects the contractual location and the programme funding.  The salary range is £33,120 to 41,000 per annum (regional) and £36,225 to £44,000 London office based. 

The role is full-time - 35 hours per week.

Currently we are embarking on an exciting journey with the rollout of our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, Salesforce. 

We’re looking for a Change Manager who is skilled in facilitating organisational change, particularly in technology adoption, with the proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and challenge where necessary, and a practical understanding of change management principles and adoption processes.

About the role 

Working with the Salesforce Programme Manager, fellow colleagues in the Business Change team and the wider Delivery Services team, you’ll play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Salesforce programme.

Working alongside the Business Change Lead, you’ll develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy for the Salesforce programme rollout, and actively engage with Salesforce programme stakeholders at all levels regularly to understand their needs, address concerns, and foster a positive attitude towards Salesforce.

What you’ll do:

• Design, analyse and create mechanisms in order to collect ongoing feedback from users and stakeholders and have ways of identifying resistance and managing it.

• Create and deliver clear, consistent change communication plans to keep all relevant parties informed and engaged throughout the transition process.

• Provide ongoing support and coaching to users, helping them navigate the new system, and manage and address risks and issues as they arise, and regularly monitor and report on the progress of CM activities, analyse its impact, provide opportunities for feedback and suggest improvements.

• At the end of the programme, lead the CM retrospective, ensure benefits and adoption metrics are identified, tracked and measured to demonstrate success. Lastly, provide the handover to the Business Change Lead.

What you’ll bring:

• Excellent documentation and training material development skills along with the ability to lead workshops, and the ability to coordinate with Subject Matter Experts, drive change, manage risks and report on progress and KPIs.

• Demonstrable experience of successfully facilitating technology implementations.

• Empathy and understanding of people’s motivations and blockers, in order to help people adopt change. 

• Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion and equity principles in our daily operations.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload.

About the role

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. Based from home, our VRMs work closely with the wider MCR team ensuring a balance of autonomy and support. Travel to meetings, events and the Hertfordshire office are all reimbursed.

Key responsibilities:

• Recruit volunteer mentors to reach monthly targets  both through engagement in the community and with organisations

• Source and attend in person and remote events to recruit volunteer mentors 

• Clearly communicate the charity's purpose and the benefits to young people and mentors, developing purposeful relationships with prospective mentors and organisations through face to face meetings and presentations

• Work with colleagues to deliver on mentor recruitment plans and share best practice

• Working closely with the VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team manage effective recruitment campaigns 

• Manage systems to evaluate and assess effectiveness of strategy and practice

About you

• Experience of and expertise in relationship-building on an organisational  and individual level 

• Experience presenting compelling and emotionally engaging information sessions  to stakeholder organisations and individuals 

• Experience and understanding of the importance of recruiting a diverse range of volunteers 

• Can-do, proactive, flexible, solution-focused attitude 

• Belief in young people’s potential, modelling motivation, commitment and resilience

You may have experience of mentoring, volunteering or the third sector. You will be a people person, open minded and equally comfortable presenting to large audiences and engaging on a one to one basis.
