Each year, around 25,000 young people take part in Outward Bound programmes across the UK, delivered through partnerships with schools, youth groups, and employers. Around 80% of school participants receive charitable bursary funding, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent young people from accessing these life-changing experiences. Bursaries are central to OBT’s purpose, underpinning its commitment to equity of access, diversity, and the belief that every young person, regardless of background, should have the chance to experience adventure, challenge, and growth.

The Outward Bound Trust is now delivering its 2030 Strategy, which sets out an ambitious plan to grow reach, strengthen partnerships, and invest in its six heritage outdoor centres. 

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll directly manage four experienced team heads and oversee a high-performing team of 18 who generate bursary, unrestricted, and capital income. The role sits on the Senior Management Team, working closely with colleagues across the charity to connect fundraising with programme delivery, marketing, and business development, ensuring shared priorities and greater collective impact. You’ll also play a key role in the Fundraising and Marcomms Steering Group, ensuring effective working between fundraising and external engagement.

This is a broad, strategic role combining leadership, direction, and hands-on relationship management at one of the UK’s most respected youth charities. You’ll work alongside a supportive CEO and senior leadership team, lead an experienced and capable department, and shape a fundraising strategy that will help thousands of young people access the power of outdoor learning and adventure.

As Director of Fundraising, you will:

• Lead and support a multi-disciplinary fundraising function spanning major donors, corporate partnerships, legacies, trusts and foundations, and events
• Deliver growth across bursary, unrestricted, and capital income, ensuring fundraising priorities align with organisational strategy and long-term sustainability
• Develop and implement capital fundraising plans, supporting the upgrade of existing outdoor centres and laying the groundwork for a potential new site acquisition
• Review and refine OBT’s approach to new business and innovation, identifying where to invest, consolidate, or reshape activity to maximise return
• Build and steward high-value relationships, personally managing key donors, corporate partners, and foundations capable of transformational giving
• Ensure fundraising, business development, and marketing operate in partnership to maximise opportunities for income growth and profile building
• Contribute to organisational leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team, supporting financial planning, strategic decision-making, and cross-directorate collaboration
• Represent OBT externally with senior supporters, funders, and government stakeholders, acting as a visible ambassador for outdoor learning and youth development

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Substantial senior-level fundraising experience with demonstrable success in leading multistream teams
• Proven ability to secure and steward six- and seven-figure partnerships and relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and foundations
• Strategic and analytical mindset, confident in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating performance
• Experience of capital fundraising or large-scale campaigns advantageous
• Credible, empowering leadership style – able to guide senior managers, foster collaboration, and provide clarity of direction
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, able to engage confidently with trustees, senior stakeholders, and external partners

Mission Director

Do you have a heart for God’s global mission, a head for strategy implementation and a passion to see global mission movements catalysed? Are you ready to help co-create mission activities in a number of edge contexts around the world? Are you good at influencing and leading people? If so, then you might be just the right person to take on the key role of Mission Director with Church Mission Society (CMS).

Like many mission organisations, in recent years CMS has gone through a process of decentralisation and localisation, resulting in the establishment of CMS-Africa and Asia-CMS within their respective regions. In addition, while CMS once worked primarily through placing people from the West in cross-cultural contexts, we’ve broadened our approach to include supporting local mission organisations and their mission personnel, partnership grant-making and network-building. We particularly want to do this in edge contexts around the world: those places where Jesus’ name is rarely heard or where the church struggles to be.

As a member of the senior leadership team (SLT) of CMS, the Mission Director will play a key part in leading this strategic direction to success together with the CEO, the rest of the SLT, international partners and the mission team.

This post has an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising and committed Christian, committed to the aims, values and the ethos statement of CMS. In addition, they must be able and willing to travel internationally around 50 days per annum. An enhanced DBS / criminal records check is also required for this post.

Hours, salary and benefits:

· Permanent and full time (35 hours per week)

· Hybrid working: at least two days a week at CMS House, Oxfordshire

Main purpose of the role 
As our Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of our fundraising strategy, working closely with the Executive Director, the Finance Team, the Insight Fundraising Officer and the Trust and Foundations consultants. The Fundraising Manager will develop existing income streams and strengthen stakeholder and supporter engagement. As Fundraising Manager, you’ll work closely with other global team members to review and implement our fundraising strategy in line with our strategic goals. 

Main Responsibilities: 

1. Play a leading role in the development and delivery of ICC’s fundraising strategy and the success of direct marketing, telemarketing and online campaigns to generate cash, regular giving and Gift Aid. 
2. Plan, research and implement all aspects of direct marketing aimed at acquiring and retaining new and existing supporters. 
3. Establish a robust donor stewardship strategy, building strong relationships with existing  and potential donors and increasing donor retention and engagement 
4. Lead on the cultivation and stewardship of partnerships with churches. 
5. To manage the direction and relationship with our Trust and Foundation consultants by collaborating in the research, writing and submitting targeted Trust applications and report on grants awarded. 
6. Work with the team to support the legacy giving strategy, to maximise long-term income. 
7. To have oversight of the in-house CRM database (Microsoft D365). Work with the team to develop competency in the effective use of our CRM database as part of our donor stewardship and reporting structure. 
8. To assist and promote ICCs presence at fundraising and other events.
9. Manage the ongoing development and implementation of a regular giving strategy and donor care to reduce attrition rates. 
10. Regularly monitor and evaluate direct marketing campaigns, Trust fundraising, recurring giving and legacy fundraising, provide results and feed the learning back into the organisation. 
11. To keep abreast of key issues and best practices within the direct marketing/fundraising sector. 
12. Ensure fundraising practices comply with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and the Code of Fundraising Practice. 
13. Undertake additional duties as requested. 
14. Line manage the Insight Fundraising Officer and lead our Trusts and Foundations partner.

Fundraising Campaigns and Events 

1. Plan, coordinate, and manage our annual fundraising event. 
2. Support the Executive Director on other events. 
3. Project manage our newsletter and appeal campaigns.

CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.

This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

• Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

• Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

• Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

• Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

• Track and analyse content performance, using insights to refine reach and engagement.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

• Oversee the creation of compelling storytelling content that highlights Purposeful’s impact, amplifies girls’ and young feminists’ voices, and influences funders.

• Lead editorial planning and content workflows, balancing evergreen storytelling with crisis-response or time-sensitive outputs.

• Oversee production and capture of content from live and digital events (webinars, IG Lives, panels, etc.).

• Coordinate brand refresh projects, including a website refresh, and strengthen Purposeful’s digital visibility with a focus on graphic-led content across social platforms.

3. Writing & Editorial Oversight

• Review and edit all external content to ensure quality, editorial standard, and alignment with Purposeful’s voice and values.

• Write op-eds, blogs, social media posts, campaign messaging, press materials, and executive summaries.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Learning & Insights to integrate data into storytelling and publications.

• Edit and manage the production of publications and reports, commissioning artists and graphic designers as needed.

• Provide editorial oversight for media projects, including radio, film, and animation.

4. Media Engagement & Positioning

• Cultivate strong relationships with international, regional, and local media outlets.

• Proactively position Purposeful in global and regional conversations, ensuring girls’ and feminist movements’ voices are at the centre.

• Lead on preparing and supporting spokespersons, including Co-CEOs and external partners, for media engagement.

• Design and execute media strategies for key campaigns, events, and publications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience developing and delivering communications strategies aligned with organisational goals.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing small teams and consultants.

• Strong hands-on skills in digital communication tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe, basic video editing).

• Extensive experience in content planning and editorial workflows.

• Strong published track record (op-eds, blogs, media features) and evidence of positioning organisations in the public spotlight.

• Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience commissioning and managing creative contributors.

• Experience building and maintaining media relationships, particularly in activist and philanthropic contexts.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director-level communications professional with a strong background in knowledge translation of technical information to different audiences internationally. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Director of Communications & Knowledge Translation will provide strategic leadership for all Health Care Without Harm Europe’s Communications and KT activities. The Director will lead exciting new digital KT initiatives in line with our new Strategy and as a key part of a small, high-performing team working at the timely intersection of health and the environment. S/he will lead and support all of the organisation’s engagement and communication with target audiences, so that they achieve maximum impact on European healthcare policy and practice in support of the organisation’s mission. 

The post is for an initial 12-month period, at a critical time of development for the organisation’s communications and KT activities. We intend to make the post permanent thereafter, subject to receiving sufficient funding, and we have high hopes that this will be the case.

War on Want is recruiting a Head of Campaigns - Strategy and Impact to bring in strategic level capacity to War on Want campaigns.

War on Want is dynamic, radical organisation that runs hard-hitting campaigns against the root causes of poverty and human rights violation, mobilising support and building alliances to fight for human rights, especially workers’ rights, raising public awareness of the root causes of poverty, inequality and injustice, and empowering people to take action for change. Reporting to the Director of Campaigns, Policy and Programmes, this is a new role working within the department to provide strategic oversight and coordination across War on Want’s campaigning portfolio, to evolve the organisation’s creative tools and techniques for both online and offline campaigning, and lead on impact learning to inform the development of campaign plans.

The role is both strategic and operational, supporting the development and integration of national and international campaigns that will engage and mobilise new and existing supporters, with a particular focus on War on Want’s priority campaign programme areas on Justice for Palestine and on a Global Green New Deal.

We are looking for an experienced campaign strategist who knows how to drive campaigns forward, familiar with the different tools and techniques to inspire online and offline campaigning, and who can spark creative ways to deliver impact and secure campaign successes working effectively and collaboratively across teams. You will be responsible for managing our three Senior Campaigners who lead on War on Want’s thematic campaigns, supporting strategy development and implementation, taking an intersectional approach to connect across the issues we campaign on, and coordinating across teams to ensure campaigns deliver for the shared organisational objectives of generating impact, engagement and income.
