We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Corporate Partnerships Officer to join our dynamic fundraising team. The Sutton Trust is at an exciting point in our organisational journey, with a new Chairperson and ambitions to significantly grow our impact and fundraising as part of our 2030 strategy.

Over the past five years the impact of the Sutton Trust has increased, especially in our programme numbers, securing a relatively stable income of c.£6m over a number of years. In recent years this has grown to c.£7m, and our organisational strategy to 2030/31 will continue this fundraising trajectory to increase income to £12m. With corporate income accounting for nearly half our fundraising, there is considerable enthusiasm and opportunity in the corporate world for building strategic partnerships with The Sutton Trust.

Our fundraising approach will continue to focus on major gifts and strategic multi-year partnerships, leveraging a range of drivers to secure corporate support. We have a strong portfolio of existing supporters primarily from the legal, banking, and finance sectors, and our strategy involves expanding our reach into other sectors to support increased social mobility in UK businesses.

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will join a small and high-performing Corporate Partnerships team, taking over a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects at our ‘consortium’ partner level, ranging from £10k-£50k per annum.

You will identify, engage, secure, and steward corporate partner prospects from sectors that include law, construction, manufacturing and logistics, as well as supporting other team members across different sectors as the need arises. The existing portfolio of partners are primarily legal firms who also engage with our impactful programmes, and you will also have personal and team new business targets and support senior team members to steward our flagship partners.

We are looking for a fundraiser who is keen to develop their corporate fundraising skills, especially building relationships with delivery partners, strategic funders, and corporate foundations. Our ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, a confident communicator, and able to work independently under their own initiative as well as within the team.

The role will be line managed by the Head of Corporate Partnerships, working closely with other members of the Corporate Partnerships team, and collaboratively across the wider Development team and Employability Programmes team. 

Main duties

New business

• Personally scope, develop and secure new corporate partnerships at consortium level (£10k-£50k), aiming for a robust portfolio of partners in assigned sectors with multi-year commitments, working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and other relevant stakeholders to appropriately to secure and steward.
• Support the Head of Corporate Partnerships to engage in proactive new business development within the corporate sector, including support for network mapping with senior volunteers.
• Manage writing and submission of reports and proposals for grants to corporate foundations, working alongside other Development team and wider organisation members to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Alongside team members, manage the shared Development inbox to ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a prompt, consistent, and friendly manner.
• Follow all relevant policies and processes to ensure due diligence is completed for all prospective donors, account management plans are kept up to date, and corporate partners receive high-quality stewardship.

Account Management and Development

• Manage and grow the portfolio of ‘consortium’ level corporate partnerships, including leveraging existing relationships to maximise financial income and partnership longevity.
• Support senior team members on designated high-value partnerships, including specific administrative and project tasks, e.g. coordinating meetings and webinars, attending programme visits, event invites, and volunteering opportunities.
• Write and deliver engaging and high-quality partnership proposals and reports for new and existing ‘consortium’ level funders, working with the wider Development team and relevant other Sutton Trust teams as appropriate.
• Be accountable for achieving agreed corporate income targets, looking for opportunities to grow funding and diversify corporate income.

Fundraising, Finance and Reporting

• Act as an ambassador for the Trust with external audiences in the corporate space, representing the Trust with confidence and enthusiasm to secure major gifts and develop relationships.
• Ensure the Trust’s CRM (Salesforce), account management plans, and all relevant income pipeline documents are kept appropriately up to date with activity from corporate partners, including accurate income forecasting.
• Attend appropriate meetings, such as the Employer Working Group, to represent the corporate team and portfolio of partners, and share information with colleagues across the Trust.
• Work with colleagues to support delivery of impactful events to cultivate prospects and steward partners, with a focus on experience for corporate partners and prospects.
• Appropriately follow policies and procedures on due diligence, Salesforce and data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.
• Stay up to date with corporate fundraising best practice, learning from senior members of the corporate team, and keep abreast of developments and opportunities within the wider fundraising space.

Terms of Appointment

The Role:

As a member of the Work Experience team, you will play a key role in facilitating meaningful work experience placements for young people in Tower Hamlets. In this role, you'll work closely with local employers in Tower Hamlets and the City of London to support them in delivering engaging placements.

Responsibilities will include actively recruiting and onboarding new employers through phone calls, online meetings and carrying out on-site health and safety checks. In addition, you’ll support the Work Experience Manager in delivering school-based sessions, such as assemblies and Q&A drop-ins, to help prepare young people for their placements. You’ll also assist in coordinating placements at The Switch by creating schedules and supporting young people with their tasks. During delivery weeks, the team is responsible for providing responsive support to employers and schools. In case of any issues, you may be required to work from the office five days per week during these periods.

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly finance team.  You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the transactional processing of all expenditure and payments, making sure that the correct authorisations have been provided. This role will be the key point of contact for non-finance staff across departments with regards to purchase order and invoice queries. 

The role is a full time and fixed term contract for 12 months. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (Minimum 40% working from the office). 

Do you have relevant experience in an Accounts Payable role with a strong understanding of financial ledgers and control accounts? Have you dealt with processing high volume of invoices and using an automated Purchase Order system? if the answer is yes, then we would like you to join our finance team.

Our ideal candidate will have an ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise tasks in a high-volume environment. They will need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong IT skills, especially Excel and Microsoft Office. Role overview 

This is a new role within FILE, providing dedicated thought leadership internally and externally with respect to our land use and nature strategies. You will support our partners to accelerate a transition to sustainable food production, secure and enforce sustainable frameworks for extraction of transition minerals, and contribute to safeguarding key global ecosystems, including through enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

You will work closely with the Director of Program Strategy, Regional Directors, and other portfolio leads to ensure land use and nature strategies are developed and integrated throughout our funding portfolios. Externally, you will build and maintain relationships with some of the world’s leading climate and biodiversity lawyers and campaigners, as well as with aligned philanthropies.

Our land use and nature work mainly supports partners working on protecting habitats in biodiversity rich areas of Africa, South America and South East Asia, including by challenging harmful practices of corporations based in the Global North. Its scope may shift over time, including as the successful candidate refines our strategy going forwards.

We seek to protect the rights of, and support partnerships with, indigenous people and local communities. Key strategic outcomes pursued include confronting supply chains of major corporates that drive greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and violate the rights of local communities, and securing regulatory changes to drive finance towards cleaner, more equitable alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

Each of these is conducted in close collaboration with relevant colleagues across FILE’s strategy teams, as well as FILE’s Research, Impact, and Learning, Grant Management, and Philanthropic Partnerships teams: 

• Lead the development of FILE’s land use and nature strategies, including a focus on legal and narrative and movement-building approaches, as well as on enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities 

• These strategies will set out a well-considered approach to sectors and themes including exploitation of transition minerals, deforestation and biodiversity loss driven by industrial agriculture, addressing rights violations in global corporate supply chains, etc 

• Work in close collaboration with strategy, grant making and fundraising leads within FILE to increase access to funding sources and the resilience of partners working in the field

• Developing, maintaining and convening external partnerships and networks with partners and practitioners working on and use and nature strategies 

• Provide leadership to the wider philanthropic and donor community on the need for legal interventions in pursuit of FILE’s land use and nature strategy, and support fundraising for FILE as well as directly for our partners 

Key Outcomes 

• FILE has a well-considered land use and nature strategy, including a focus both on legal and related narrative and movement strategies, which is integrated throughout our funding portfolios

• Increased funding is made available to partner organisations working on land use and nature, via FILE or directly from other philanthropies

• FILE colleagues and external partners have a trusted thought partner and collaborator on developing and implementing land use and nature legal strategies 

• Overseeing / establishing high quality convening(s), with support of FILE’s Convening Manager, and networks of civil society and relevant legal practitioners and peers working in this area, to catalyse innovation and strengthen connectivity 

• An engaged group of funders, ready to deepen their support for our partners’ work on land use and nature strategies

• An ability to strategically manage projects, including prioritisation and forwards planning

• An ability to work equitably and effectively with multiple perspectives and build trust with diverse partners, and understanding of funder positionality and responsibility. 

• A willingness to travel from time to time (at least four times a year, more if working remotely) to meet FILE staff and partners 

• An ability to work flexibly as part of a team spread across many time zones, which will involve some meetings outside of standard working hours 

• A professional standard of written and spoken English

Desired criteria 

• A current or past qualification / bar admission as a lawyer 

• Experience of working as a lawyer on strategic litigation against governments, corporations, or financial institutions 

• Demonstrated experience of building and / or maintaining external networks, bringing expert practitioners and / or civil society together 

• Experience working with communities adversely affected by climate change, environmental harms, and/or related human rights violations, particularly in the Global South 

• Existing relationships with NGOs, lawyers, and / or philanthropic partners working on relevant land use and nature strategies 

• An ability to communicate with partners in other relevant languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia, would be a bonus but not essential

About the Role

As our creative and innovative Legacy & In Memory Marketing Officer, you will deliver a range of compelling communications to increase consideration for legacy giving and implement personalised stewardship journeys for our legacy and in memory supporters, as well as delivering engaging thank you events. 

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute print, email and digital campaigns across the marketing funnel, as well as deliver exceptional stewardship, through personal communications and events, to our committed supporters.

You’ll also: 

• Prepare and agree campaign strategies using data, analysis and insight that meet specific objectives within the LIM Team plans
• Undertake Project Management responsibilities required for the successful and timely delivery of campaigns
• Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure the effective and timely delivery of campaigns 
• Manage a legacy and high value supporter event programme
• Operate a rigorous test to learn methodology, regularly monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns

Requirements

You’ll be passionate about using your experience in fundraising and marketing to make a difference by creating inspiring and supporter-led communications that effectively raises consideration for legacy giving and uncovers new prospects and pledgers. You will steward our existing legacy and in memory supporters through engaging supporter journeys and events.

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven experience in a direct marketing or supporter engagement role

• Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
• Location: Remote, with regular travel to eoa offices and national events
• Salary & Benefits: £65,000 p/a + 7% Pensions. 30 Days leave + Bank Holidays.

The Epilepsy Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Fundraising to lead our income generation efforts and help drive our mission forward. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing sustainable funding to support world-leading epilepsy research.

With a proven track record in fundraising, you will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy across multiple revenue streams, including corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations and major donors. With a minimum of three years’ experience in a senior fundraising role and demonstrable success in securing significant funding, your ability to cultivate and manage donor relationships, craft compelling funding proposals, and oversee high-impact fundraising campaigns will be key to our success.
