This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK’s Finance team as a Procurement Support Officer, playing a vital role supporting the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the charity’s operations.

Working alongside with the Procurement Manager and colleagues across the organisation, you will provide essential support on all procurement related matters, offering advice and guidance to ensure all procurement activities are aligned with our corporate strategy.

About the Role:

The Trust Fundraising Intern will work in collaboration with the Senior Trust and Foundations Manager to be responsible for securing critical funding that sustains our life-changing programs worldwide. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Role description

As our director of digital and information security, you will lead our digital risk and resilience team and programme in order to help build resistance and resilience among the people and movements challenging unaccountable power.

Your focus in this senior role at this crucial time will be on leadership, strategy, growth, and culture, with specific responsibility for our digital risk and resilience programme, internal information security, and tech transformation. Your responsibilities will include:

Lead our digital risk and resilience programme

1. Manage the design and delivery of our digital and information security support, including:
   • Coordinate the digital security mentoring, accompaniment, and capacity sharing we deliver to at-risk activists and low-resource civil society organisations referred through our rapid response mechanism.
   • Oversee the professional information security consultancy and advisory services we provide to high-profile nonprofit and foundation clients.
   • Develop our holistic security approach and ensure the smooth delivery of holistic security projects as part of our cross-programme leadership group.
2. Lead a team of digital and information security professionals and technologists, including:

This is an exciting role that will rely on a strong combination of excellent organisational and account management skills to support the Partnerships Team’s ambitious fundraising strategy.

You will support the development and management of relationships with external partners, helping to enhance the team’s outreach, funding opportunities, and collaborative projects. This exciting Database Officer role will support the data team with data imports, data selections and processing of income.

The Foundation has just started using a new CRM after undergoing a CRM migration from Raiser’s Edge, a very exciting time to be joining the Foundation! This role, alongside with other members of the data team, will liaise with the CRM Project Teams to support and ensure the successful outcome of the project and get us up to BAU.

What does the role involve?

• Manage data processes, imports and exports of all fundraising data including direct debits, new donors, email sign ups etc.in accordance with agreed protocols and in agreement with Database Manager.
• Ensure that the use of the Fundraising database and the capture of all data from supporters or prospects conforms to data protection guidelines including GDPR in particular relating to supporter preferences and consent.
• Support training for colleagues using the new CRM (Beacon) and help ensure all members are trained and kept up to date on new features and enhancements as they require to do their job effectively.
• Support the reconciliation of the bank statement with Beacon and ensure the Finance team know where to find information to enable accurate coding for management accounts.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Demonstrable relevant experience working in Fundraising, or a Charity database team role using Beacon, Raiser’s Edge or any database similar, with experience of CRMs in general.
• Evidenced experience of managing high volumes of personal data using a large and complex supporter/CRM database.
• Evidenced ability to think analytically and deliver the most effective and accurate solutions for data capture, manipulation and reporting.

General Overview of Role

The post-holder will be responsible for writing bid applications within Combat Stress. This will include:

• Support the development and delivery of Combat Stress's bid writing under the leadership of the Director of Fundraising (DoF) and Head of Trusts and Foundations (HTF), in order to support our role as a specialist UK-wide provider of mental health services to veterans with complex mental health needs.
• With guidance and support from DoF and HoTF contribute to the various stages of a bid or tender process.
• Support the team in managing service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with the business development framework and governance processes - with support from DoF and HoTF.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Complete bid writing in support of the business development agenda of Combat Stress, working with all departments in promoting our services to attract new business and supporting cost-effective service delivery.
• Contribute to our revenue generation agenda by owning and contributing to bid documents such as mobilisation or communication plans.
• Support the assessment of the healthcare market within which we operate, to ensure we are best placed to achieve growth and have the appropriate strategies to mitigate risks
• Support the development, monitoring and delivery of business developments plans, systems and processes in line with our strategy and targets
• Work across departments in order to adhere to the full service specification of the bid or tender.
