Summary
Are you passionate about fostering ecumenical relationships and shaping the strategic direction of ecumenically-based collaboration? We are seeking an experienced ecumenist to become National Advisor for Ecumenical Relations to support the Archbishops and Bishops in their ecumenical responsibilities, ensuring meaningful partnerships with churches across the UK and beyond.
The ecumenical sub-team is currently composed of three staff, two of whom (including the advertised post) are full-time, and one part-time, with access to administrative support from a fourth (half-time). The National Advisor for Ecumenical Relations is the sub-team manager. The sub-team is part of the Faith and Public Life team and is based at Lambeth Palace. It operates under the aegis of the Council for Christian Unity, reporting to the Archbishops' Council and also to the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.
What you'll be doing
The National Ecumenical Officer is a senior post, and the person appointed will work with the Council for Christian Unity to direct and manage the Church of England's ecumenical relationships at home and abroad and will work through the Office of the Archbishops to support the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in their ecumenical engagements.
As National Ecumenical Officer, you will promote, sustain and develop the Church of England's ecumenical relations, with a focus on enabling cooperation between churches in mission and evangelism. This involves working on cross-cutting issues with a bearing on ecumenical relations with other churches.
As someone considering this role, you will have extensive experience of ecumenical dialogue, whether locally, nationally or internationally, and a vision for ecumenism which holds unity and diversity together creatively. You will be driven by a theological vision for the work and have the pragmatism to know what is achievable and at what cost. You will be skilled in working with a range of senior stakeholders, with the wisdom to advise them authoritatively on ecumenical matters.

Summary of main responsibilities
- Provide ecumenical guidance to Archbishops and bishops in their ministries.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the F&PL team, shaping ecumenical priorities.
- Represent the CCU and the Church of England at ecumenical bodies and key events.
- Offer theological expertise, collaborating with FAOC and integrating insights into the F&PL team's work.
- Build and maintain networks with ecumenical leaders and representatives in the UK and internationally.
- Support partnerships with other churches in mission and evangelism, advising on theological and practical matters.
- Prepare briefing papers and reports on ecumenical relations for senior Church figures.
- Participate in CCU meetings, fostering strong collaboration across the NCIs.
Key role requirements
- Because of the representative role of this post and the nature of the relationships it involves, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the person appointed be a Communicant member of the Church of England.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and abroad, including overnight trips.
- Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation to work from the office (Church House, London or The Old Brewhouse - Bishopthorpe, York). Details about working arrangements for this post will be discussed further at the interview.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.

We’re seeking a Research Officer to join our fantastic Research team following an internal promotion within the team.
- You will be ensuring that the management of funding rounds is robust, coordinated, and delivered to the highest possible quality, and that the funding rounds we offer address key needs of the research and patient community.
- You will be responsible for managing key stakeholders in the grant funding process, including applicants, award holders and committee members to organise key events.
- You will be liaising with researchers and people with lived experience of pancreatic cancer to coordinate meaningful internal and external public and patient involvement (PPI) through our Research Involvement Network.

- Experience of working in a scientific or clinical research context with an undergraduate degree, preferably with a biomedical focus.
- An understanding of patient and public involvement and how to converse with people affected by pancreatic cancer.

The Senior Children’s and Families Pastor is a key role within the staff team at St Stephen’s.

Your new role
The Human Resources Division supports all people management activities across the school and is committed to delivering high-quality and customer-focused services. Reporting to the Director, HR Policy and Employee Relations, this post is responsible for maintaining existing HR policies and contributing to the development of new policy in consultation with a wide range of HR colleagues and stakeholders across the School.
This role also supports the development and implementation of key employee engagement and wellbeing projects. Policy Development:
- To stay informed of new legislative developments and ensure that appropriate revisions to HR policy are made accordingly, as well as working with the Director, HR Policy and Employee Relations to ensure that the wider HR Division is aware of the changes.
- To undertake appropriate policy benchmarking across the sector and with other leading organisations (both public and private).
- To support in ensuring that the university has a set of up-to-date and appropriate HR / employment policies and that these are accessible to staff and line managers, maintaining a regular programme of monitoring, review and improvement.
- To contribute to the development of discussion papers, with appropriate recommendations, for consideration by the HR Management Board, School Management Committee (SMC) and trade unions.
- To effectively engage and consult with appropriate representatives of the staff community in the development of HR/employment policies.

Employee Engagement Projects
- To co-ordinate (i.e. arranging meetings, formulating the agenda, taking minutes and monitoring and following up on resulting actions) and / or participate in a number of internal working groups and consultative forums with trade union members, HR colleagues and managers around the school.
- To support ongoing activities relating to staff engagement and wellbeing, e.g. related projects, events and initiatives.
- To produce draft reports and initial analyses to support the development of new projects and initiatives.
- To support the Director, HR Policy and Employee Relations in monitoring the progress of both individual projects and progress against over-arching action plans, e.g. the School's Gender Pay Gap report.
- To take on the role of Data Lead for the HR Policy Team, supporting with developing the reporting and analytics roadmap, refining the data model to enable better use of available data and providing feedback on data quality issues.To liaise with the Information and Systems team, and other relevant colleagues as required, to produce timely and accurate management information to support project and development work within the team.
- To plan, organise and communicate the school's annual flu vaccination clinics, liaising with external and internal stakeholders, to ensure that this runs effectively.
- To complete annual benchmarking reports, developing and implementing action plans based on feedback.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience of working in a large HR department supporting a complex and diverse organisation
- Can demonstrate a sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR good practice, with experience of advising colleagues and managers on HR policy and procedure

Key Responsibilities
1.Regular Reporting
- Forecast and create monthly cash flow as requested.
- Report on cash reserve levels with reference to the reserves policy.

5.Donor Support
- Deal with any donor queries that come by email.

- Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations, and regularly submit Gift Aid reclaims to HMRC.
6.Financial Administration

- Make payments for all authorised invoices.
- Process expense claims and make payments.
- Manage the banking of income (cheques and cash).
