Purpose of the role 

The purpose of this role is to increase the fundraising capability of The Vitiligo Society and secure the income we need to deliver our support to those affected by vitiligo. It is part of our new fundraising strategy.

Reporting to the Charity Director you will take the lead on establishing a fundraising programme. You will also support our community and membership fundraising, recruiting and supporting volunteer fundraisers and helping to improve and maintain our membership & donation processes.

Your Experience

We are looking for a candidate who has a background in charity fundraising, in particular community, Trust and Foundation fundraising.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

Leading on applications to trusts and foundations with input from the Charity Director and delivery teams as needed, incl:

• Writing and submitting high quality applications to trusts and foundations that reflect The Vitiligo Society  and our members' stories.

• Researching potential charitable trusts and foundations to approach for funding.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with key personnel in relevant funding organisations.

• Support monitoring and evaluation and coordinate relevant reporting to funders.

• Establishing and maintaining a funders database within our existing CRM system.

Community Fundraising

• Assisting with improving the processes for donations from individuals.

• Working in cooperation with the staff, trustees and volunteers to develop and deliver up to 3 fundraising campaigns per year (a minimum of 1).

• Recruiting and supporting community volunteers to undertake fundraising activities.

Other Fundraising

• Working with the Charity Director to develop the organisation’s Trusts and Community fundraising strategy.

• Assist with the development of a corporate fundraising strategy as appropriate.

• Assist with the reporting on income generation and evaluating progress.

• Keeping up to date with best practice in fundraising and fundraising trends.

People Management 

• Oversee the engagement of volunteer fundraisers, supporting them to undertake community fundraising activities and sharing their stories to inspire others. 

• Build, and encourage, positive working relationships with other staff to ensure members receive relevant information at the right time and that communications reflect the lived experience of individuals affected by vitiligo.

General

• Working within the The Vitiligo Society ethos and values.

• Be part of a rota of staff & volunteers answering the Society's helpline

• Attend The Vitiligo Society events when required, which may include planning and attending support events virtually and in person. 

• Be part of the rota for checking The Vitiligo Society’s social media outside normal office hours.

• Support content creation for The Vitiligo Society, by identifying potential case studies and stories.

Responsabilities and Accountabilities:

1. Provide strategic and managerial oversight of the UK’s Liaison and Project Support Unit.

2. Establish strategic vision and priorities for IOM’s liaison in the UK to fulfil IOM UK’s status as a Country Office for      Partnerships and Advocacy (COPA) including connections to IOM’s private sector strategy, in close coordination with the COM.

3. Lead on resource mobilization plans and contribute to the development of wider IOM and IOM UK policy documents. Lead on identifying new funding and partnership opportunities.

4. Oversee the preparation of high-level meetings between IOM senior leadership and UK donors and other stakeholders, to further build on IOM relationships, and oversee the preparation of briefing materials. Oversee preparation of policy guidance notes, documentation and briefings for CoM and senior management.

5. Establish and maintain strong network across government (including Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office FCDO, Home Office), with parliament, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), think-tanks, academia, migration/refugee organisation, diaspora associations, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensuring that IOM’s work and policy positions are accurately communicated and enhance IOM’s visibility.

6. Manage, maintain, and strengthen the Organisation’s relationship with UK donors through regular liaison and provision of information on IOM programmes/projects.

7. Oversee the development of tools and guidance to assist IOM country offices in engaging with FCDO, UK Home Office and other UK donors on ongoing and potential new programming.

8. Oversee liaison with IOM country and regional offices and HQ units to disseminate information on UK donor requirements, and to collect information on project implementation, to ensure the proper and consistent flow of organisational and project information to the donors and other stakeholders.

9. Carry out field visits when required to monitor UK funded project progress, support the implementation of activities, and collect relevant information to inform IOM response to UK donors and other relevant stakeholders.

10.  Oversee preparation of IOM’s inputs to parliamentary enquiries and similar external documentation.

11.  Advise on IOM’s internal procedures, coordinate due diligence requirements with internal departments and maintain organisational key documents to support project proposal development in IOM UK.

12.  Identify, collate and keep track of funding opportunities for IOM UK and IOM globally.

13.  Ensure strong knowledge management across the mission.

14.  Represent IOM UK in inter-agency forums and government-initiated forums.

This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team with significant growth across multiple income streams, including individual giving. This role will be integral to developing our individual giving programme to support the growth and sustainability of our income, whilst also driving supporter engagement. Role Purpose

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to work within a multi-disciplinary, early intervention Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to increase and improve emotional wellbeing (5-18 years) and mental health provision within education settings.

You will be part of a Third Sector team of colleagues with a variety of qualifications and experiences who are passionate about supporting all children and young people to access the right support at the right time, including where children may have been excluded, have additional needs or are not attending school.

We may also be able to consider applications from qualified Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs), CAMHS practitioners, or other children and young people specialist practitioners with relevant qualifications.

You will have a caseload of children and adolescents with mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties and will deliver evidence-based and time limited 1:1 and group interventions, employing the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies). Low intensity interventions (e.g. CBT guided self-help) will be delivered in a range of education settings (primary, secondary, special, alternative provision and sixth form and further education colleges).  Work will include psychoeducation sessions to a range of stakeholders, including children and young people, parents/carers and education staff, promoting a whole school approach to mental health. The role runs throughout the year, and you will be part of our holiday provision, ensuring we can support children all year round.

You will work with people from diverse backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and will have a commitment to challenging health inequities, and increasing access to our services for all young people. You will also work closely with colleagues and partners in the Local Authority, CAMHS, education settings where interventions are being delivered and other relevant mental health providers. 

Key Responsibilities

Delivering Interventions and Client Care

• Assess and develop evidence-based intervention plans to meet the mild - moderate needs of CYP with a range of mild – moderate emotional and mental health difficulties, with the support of your supervisor 
• Work in partnership with children, young people, their families and educators in the development of plans, agreeing interventions, goals and outcomes
• Support children and young people, their parents/carers, families and educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, the PTN is recruiting a Partnerships Manager who will provide management and oversight of key partnerships essential to the delivery of the Network’s Strategic Plan, with a specific focus on the development and delivery of Regional Hubs.

Key Tasks

• To form part of the Core Leadership Team, providing overall strategic leadership across the Network

• To lead on the development and support of Regional Hubs, including support with grant funding and income generation

Metabolic Support UK (MSUK) are the leading organisation for Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMDs), supporting thousands of people worldwide through providing individual support, building communities, and continually advocating for and empowering those living with IMDs. 

We are a small but mighty team providing individual support, advice and connection to the over 40,000 living with an IMD in the UK and more across the world. We have a strong interest in rare disease policy and campaign for the rights of our rare disease community for better healthcare services, access to treatment and to be able to live well everyday.  

Role Overview 

MSUK are seeking a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Officer to strengthen and grow our patient and family community. There are over 1500 IMDs and many of our community use social media, other patient groups and in-person events to connect and learn. This role is central to how we engage with the people we support — through social media, community groups, events, and collaborative partnerships. You’ll be the bridge between our charity and the people we serve, helping to build a supportive, inclusive, and informed community.  

Key Responsibilities 

Engagement & Social Media 

• Manage and monitor all online patient communities responding to community messages and comments with empathy and timeliness 

• Moderate relevant support online community groups, ensuring they are safe, active, and welcoming spaces 

• Identify themes and areas of interest to advocate internally for MSUK response to meeting community need 

• Signpost our Individual Support service, identify and flag individual enquiries to the Individual Support Lead 

• Working with our Campaign & Comms Lead, grow the charity’s presence across social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) 

• Develop content that resonates with patients, families, and supporters, amplifying community stories and voices 

• Build and manage our lived experience co-production group ‘Metabolic Advisory Council’ 

Community Insight & Advocacy 

• Functioning as the ‘internal expert’ on IMD communities for all MSUK team members 

• Using our Contact Record Management system to log and manage community database to provide timely, relevant insight to team members when required 

• Work with Head of Insight & Advocacy to engage and support communities in relation to timelines for insight work 

Events & Campaigns 

• Plan, organise, and execute online and in-person community events (support groups, awareness days, family meetups, annual conference) 

• Collaborate with the team to deliver campaigns around awareness, fundraising, and education 

• Work with Virtual Support Assistant to coordinate speakers, logistics, communications, and follow-ups for all events with  

Relationship & Partnership Management 

• Build and maintain relationships with other patient advocacy groups, charities, and health organisations

• Seek opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives 

Community Fundraising

About the role
In this role you will take on day to day responsibly for carrying out core company secretarial activities and related corporate governance responsibilities. You will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees to ensure that Macmillan is held to the highest standards of governance. This will involve delegation for Chief of Staff/Company Secretary (CoSec).

You will lead our engagement with Trustees, developing a strategic forward plan and sequencing Board and Committee activity to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.
