Turner’s House is a small independent museum in Twickenham housed in a Grade II* listed building, open to the public since 2017. This is a key role in helping secure its long-term sustainability. The Partnerships Director will be responsible for leading all income-generating and related partnership activity (fundraising, commercial hires, marketing/PR, retail, commercial events, donor cultivation etc.), as well as being hands-on in ensuring the House is open and running smoothly, including keyholder responsibilities (opening/closing, occasional weekend or evening work). • Oversee creation of promotional materials (print, digital), social media content, website updates.
• Use PR opportunities to profile Turner’s House in local/national media.
• Act as keyholder: opening & closing the building, ensuring security & visitor readiness once or twice a week as needed.
• Work on-site regularly to support visitor experience during public opening hours (Wed-Sun, plus special / evening events).

The Role

The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
This role is responsible for managing health and safety across the HTB sites, catering (crew, bloom café, Brompton road food vans and green rooms), internal deliveries and LC app, along with other LC related tasks.

The Key Responsibilities

Logistical arrangements:

o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event

o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers

o Determining catering requirements and caterer management

o Hiring of any additional venues as required and HTB site logistics

o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used)

o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments

o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place

o Creating floor plans for the vergers to use

Due to an internal secondment, a rewarding and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Philanthropy Engagement Officer to join the Philanthropic Partnerships Team in the Major Partnerships Unit (MPU) for a fixed-term role.
 
As Philanthropy Engagement Officer, you will independently deliver excellent account management and stewardship to a portfolio of existing major donors, contributing to our goals of sustaining and increasing income from high-net-worth individuals. You will also cultivate new prospects, following through leads and delivering persuasive proposals to secure new potential donors. You will also lead on the organisation of key engagement activities with the support of other team members, including in person and virtual cultivation and stewardship events.
 
We are therefore looking for solid experience of working in a fundraising environment, managing and prioritising a portfolio of funders to secure donations, and experience organising events. You will have worked with a diverse range of donors, and have strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills, as well as being a collaborative team member.
 
This is an exciting time to join a high achieving team with lots of ambitious projects under way including the rollout of a new giving circle product and execution of an excellent high-value events programme.

Are you a Facilities specialist wanting to save the planet? 

We are currently recruiting for a versatile Health, Safety and Facilities Manager to join our Infrastructure Services team, to cover maternity leave. 

As our Health, Safety and Facilities Manager you will provide efficient facilities management and Health & Safety services to and for Friends of the Earth’s offices, workspaces, staff and volunteers. 

We are looking for someone with experience of a broad range of facilities management across multiple sites and the ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs.

Entry level Health and Safety qualification or working towards this is essential along with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out assessments. 

Key Skills and Attributes:  

• Practical experience of a broad range of facilities work, including Hard and Soft Facilities matters across multiple sites. 

• Management of third parties’ contractors hired to complete facilities tasks, using method statements, risk assessments and a permit to work scheme. 

• Proven experience of improving supplier value through contract review, market research and contract negotiation 

• Entry level Health and Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar) and working towards NEBOSH qualification, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out Risk Assessments, DSE Assessments, etc. 

• Experience of communicating effectively and building strong relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs, both individually and in groups, and working with sometimes challenging clients. 

• Ability to safely perform equipment installation/elementary repair work and manage/assist in the movement of office apparatus. 

• Lead and manage projects and provide training to staff within a facilities context. 

Special working conditions  

• This role is a key holder for our offices, and the holder must be prepared to be on call in the event of an emergency. 

• There will be the occasional need for travel within the UK, with the requirement to stay away from home overnight on occasions. 

The team:  

Working closely with and managing the Facilities Assistant, you will ensure Friends of the Earth meets the required Health and Safety standards. You will be part of our vital Infrastructure team, sitting within the Finance and Operations Directorate.

The Infrastructure team is responsible for the physical and virtual platform we use to do our work, from physical premises to our network, servers and Service Desk for support issues.

Category Manager | £55,000 - £60,000 + Benefits | 12-month FTC | London - Hybrid Working

For a large UK-wide Housing Association, we're recruiting a Category Manager on a 12-month FTC. During a period of significant investment in service provision and effective category management and business partnering, the Category Manager will continue this journey of operational excellence and will develop and lead strategic sourcing, agreeing procurement strategy for several supply chain categories taking a commercial and compliant approach in development the best routes to market.

What you'll be doing:

• Work alongside the group procurement team and senior procurement manager to develop and deliver operationally excellent strategies for a portfolio of supply chain categories
• Lead on the development, procurement and implementation of category strategies, ensuring contracts awarded deliver value for money
• Identify key supply relationships to drive improvement in value for money, performance, quality, service and innovation
• Develop successful supply chain relationships though supplier visits, and understanding end-to-end supply chains
• Develop extensive market research and analysis and evaluate market intelligence to support procurement strategies
• Monitor and report on supplier performance across the group for assigned categories
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure all portfolio suppliers are monitored during their contracts, and facilitate the review and audit of spend categories
• Develop and provide management information on category spend across all budgets and procurement efficiencies
• Develop best practices to ensure regulatory and governance compliance.

What you'll offer us:

• CIPS qualified (or studying towards)
• Proven track record in applying Public Contracts Regulations (PCR 2015) knowledge to the management of end-to-end procurement activity
• Experience in Corporate Services Category Management (HR, Finance, Facilities, Marketing)
• Experience using different routes to market including frameworks/DPS and other tender approaches

The Role
Be the first point of contact for all donor, retail, and membership enquiries by phone, letter or email and responding to these in a timely manner.
To process online and phone donations

Ensure high levels of customer service are always maintained.
To record on excel and acknowledge all fundraising income received from various sources (cheques, cash, online giving).
To brief internal stakeholders on upcoming activity to ensure consistency of call handling and messaging.
Update contact records on the organisations database

To ensure reception area is well-maintained, tidy and presentable at all times.
Call handling and redirection.
Greeting visitors; providing face to face information and signposting.
Greeting conference delegates; ensuring they are signed in, have relevant security badges, and information regarding allocation of meeting rooms and their location.
To update the meeting rooms presentation notices and door signs as necessary.
To liaise with the Conference & Facilities team to arrange any on-the-spot meeting room requests or other enquiries.
To receive visitors of tenants and informing the relevant tenant of visitors arrival.

The Candidate
Experience of working within an office or customer service environment is essential.
Experience of using databases
Experience of working with Excel is essential.
Experience of Word, including the use of mail merge
Experience of Microsoft teams
Pleasant and efficient telephone manner. Ability to interact in a friendly and personable manner with external clients, tenants and staff.
Experience of working at a reception will be an advantage.
Excellent computer skills and of MS Office software, MS Outlook, Teams and Zoom.
