Purpose of Job
To deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for individuals with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families/carers through Shine membership. To empower and enable members Living with the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community across England.
SHINE has over 14,500 members with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. This post will bring a real focus to the Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk area and will be an exciting opportunity to engage with members and develop and deliver the services we offer.
Our Little Stars project for 0–12 year olds has been established for over 3 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place.
We are looking for someone who can cover the Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk area. You will be home based but will be required to attend clinics in this area and London, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This is a critical frontline leadership role that is responsible for the operation of the organisation’s homelessness and rough sleeping services at Anchor House.
You will provide operational leadership to support services managers and ensure compliance with organisational, contractual, local authority and legal regulations and requirements. You will ensure the quality of services is pushed to the highest standards possible, ensuring excellent outcomes for residents and a positive and high performing working environment for teams.
This role will also be accountable for building and maintenance of excellent relationships with external partners, commissioners, other key stakeholders for support services in the organisation.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery
· Lead in setting organisational standards and performance targets across the support services that reflect contractual requirements and organisational standards.
· Actively promote and develop person centred practices based on a trauma informed approach and psychologically informed environment to working with residents with high support needs and challenging behaviour.
· Be accountable for the operational performance of the services, allocating resources strategically to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved and that action plans are in place where required to improve service performance.
· Promote accountability and co-production approaches with residents.
· Support with the creation and review of local and service wide policies and procedures.
· As part of the Frontline Services Leadership Team, ensure the support services team follow established Health & Safety and building management procedures
· Contribute, and when required, lead on the formation and review of local and service wide policies and procedures.
· Contribute to the Frontline Service’s Management On Call rota, providing support to frontline services outside of office hours.
Stakeholder Management
· Develop and maintain close relationships and working protocols with external partners and local authorities to enable the service to meet agreed objectives and improve service outcomes.
· Submit management information on a monthly and quarterly basis and produce other statistics and data as directed by the Director of Frontline Services.
· Responsible for good and effective liaison with outside agencies including the police, social services and other statutory and voluntary agencies and delegating this work where appropriate.
· Represent the organisation externally at forums, conferences and meetings.
· Contribute to the wider management team in frontline services to ensure good communication, coordination and consistency of practice, approach and development across the Directorate.
Business Planning and Project Management
· Drive business planning activities within contracts, ensuring relevant and challenging objective setting and ongoing performance tracking, developing turn around action plans as may be necessary
· Where agreed, project manage new services or service developments.
· Working closely with Finance Department to set, manage and monitor allocated budgets for income and expenditure for support services and to ensure that teams keep within set performance targets.
· To ensure that financial procedures are maintained at all times in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Managing and Developing People
· Creating an open and inclusive culture across the support services teams that reflects the organisation’s values.
· Developing performance targets and quality control measures for teams, and monitoring performance to ensure that these are met.
· Supporting managers and teams by setting clear objectives and holding individual supervisions regularly.
· Ensuring good communication across teams by holding team meetings regularly, and additional briefings as necessary.
· Inducting new managers and any other direct reports and planning the continuous professional development of existing managers through annual appraisals.
· Managing the workload of teams to ensure that adequate cover is provided at all times.
Safeguarding Lead
· To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation ensuring that it meets legal duties, keeping policy and practices up to date
· To actively promote an open and accountable approach across the organisation as a whole that achieves best practice and keeps the best interest of the residents central to our safeguarding practices.
General
· To attend meetings internally as and when necessary, for example, Directorate, Management and planning meetings.

Tabard Court is a mental health supported accommodation for individual with significant offending histories. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to customers with a range of mental health needs - emotional, social, physical or domestic -, who have had contact with the Criminal Justice System. You will be skilled in engaging both customers and stakeholders and have a good understanding of the needs and diversity of this client group. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a therapeutic environment that at times can be challenging and provide quality evidenced based care and risk management strategies working closely with clinical colleagues. You will have a thorough understanding of the principles of recovery, be highly motivated and committed, making a significant contribution to the development of the service and building on your previous experience and skills in the fields of mental health and/or criminal justice system.
The post holder will facilitate the liaison between Tabard Court and mental health services in the area and work flexibly to respond to emerging needs and effectively address the needs of the customer case load.
This role will include shift working including: every other weekends, early shifts (8am start) and late shifts (until 10pm).

* Lead on an area of specialism (e.g. ETE, health and wellbeing) and build partnerships and develop internal and external opportunities for service-users in this area

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead
This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.
Responsible to: Co-CEOs
Location: Hybrid, with two to three days per week at Shine’s offices in Blackheath, Southeast London.
Hours & salary: Full time (35 hours per week). Salary range is £39,000 - £43,000pa depending on experience. This is a permanent job with a three-month probation period.

Working on our external communications strategy to build authority and be the go-to voice for younger adults (aged 20 to 49 years) living with cancer, this person will be responsible for managing all external communications. Key Responsibilities
These include:
● Develop implementation plans to support Shine’s communications strategy to build authority in the cancer support space.
● Responsible for developing the Shine narrative, brand voice, and talking points to support external stories and campaigns, and to co-create fundraising messages with the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Consultant.
● Responsible for all external communications with media including national and regional outlets, print and broadcast, digital channels and titles read by healthcare professionals.
● Supervision of the social media output from Shine, ensuring consistency with the overall communications plan.
● Ability to represent Shine at external stakeholder meetings.
● Working closely with the Shine team to raise Shine’s profile through advocacy activities in the cancer community and healthcare professionals.

Bank Support Workers have the ability to accept any shifts available on an ad-hoc basis across from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.

About the role
This role will be part of the finance system team acting as a finance system business expert, administering, supporting and developing Unit 4 ERP. The role will also be critical in the execution of key Finance Projects, including the migration to Unit 4’s Cloud and the implementation of Unit 4s Financial Planning and Analysis Tool.
The role will support finance users and the wider organisation to get the most out of Unit 4 ERP by ensuring the integrity of accounting data, compliance with finance controls, robust workflow management and report maintenance and development.
The role will also liaise with our technology department to resolve issues, assist with system integrations and support the finance-technology strategy.
Please note that this is a systems role working within our finance team and not a role as a financial accountant.
We are open to a conversation about hybrid working as the majority of the team work remotely, with face-to-face meetings at least quarterly, normally in our London office.
About you

JOB DESCRIPTION
Working to specific income targets, the Supporter Engagement Manager is responsible for acquisition campaigns including regular giving, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, legacys; retention campaigns including ongoing stewardship to increase supporter engagement. You will grow relationships with supporters and work closely with wider fundraisering team to devise and execute creative and effective stewardship journeys. You will have a sound understanding of fundraising membership schemes and sector regulations, with knowledge of best practice CRM and/or fundrasing database.
The Supporter Engagement Manager will work with the Senior Head of Supporter Engagement to develop the strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams and then work with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the wider team to impliment it. You will play an instrumental part in creatively engaging supporters to get involved in our high-value campaigns, events and regular giving programme. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccuring giving programmes, which last year raised £1m and £150k respectively. The post-holder will be key in taking the Individual Giving programme to the next level, providing proactive engagement opportunities and efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant and engaging communications to our various supporters.
