Titchwell Marsh is a wetland site abundant in a variety of wildlife including passage and migrant birds. Sitting on the East Atlantic Flyway, Titchwell is an important service station for species moving between Arctic breeding grounds and overwintering grounds in Southern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, it is known for other biodiversity including invertebrates and small mammals. Titchwell Marsh is a busy visitor destination, popular all year round with bird watchers, nature lovers and people wanting a quiet ‘get away’ from city life.

Our other reserve at Snettisham is a globally important estuarine habitat and is well known for its two nature spectacles, the dawn flights of Pink-footed Geese in winter and the whirling wader spectacles in late summer and Autumn. This wild landscape is unstaffed with minimal development to retain its natural appeal. In addition to being a hot spot for tens of thousands of waders, it is also an important site for ground nesting birds and is part of a conservation project to protect nesting Ringed Plovers.

We're looking for a team player with excellent people skills combined with a passion for connecting people with nature. Working at Titchwell Marsh reserve, you'll be providing a unique and fascinating visitor experience inspiring our visitors to support nature conservation now and in the future. This role is fundamental in ensuring we have the highest quality of visitor experience for both new and existing audiences.

You will be working with the Visitor Experience Manager and volunteers to ensure a coherent visitor offer is delivered whilst also working with the HQ team to ensure the highest quality of RSPB visitor experience.

Group and Communities Officer

The Role

You will drive the continuous improvement and impact of the UK-wide Stroke Group Network and community-based offers by cultivating strong relationships with volunteers and groups, working alongside groups and communities, and translating insights into targeted improvements that strengthen support for stroke survivors nationwide.

Group Network & Communities team lead the approach to supporting people affected by stroke to engage with a range of support within communities they identify with and support and empower a vast network of volunteers, a dynamic and inclusive community of over 400 stroke support groups nationwide.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure community-based offers provide the best possible customer experience with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion, aligned to Solving Inequity in Stroke approach.
• Drive forward a culture of coaching, shared learning, peer support and collaboration as a way of working.
• Work across teams and Directorates to ensure a joined-up approach to community engagement and development, including the delivery of cross-directorate spaces that facilitate shared learning, leading relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.

About You

You will have a proven record of:

• Experience of working with volunteers, including the ability to coordinate, organise and deliver volunteer engagement events at scale or digitally
• Ability to take time to understand the context of our communities and groups, being approachable, and supporting thinking - always having people affected by stroke at the centre.
• Strong administration skills, with ability to develop and deliver effective processes.
• Ability to identify problems or opportunities where we can have more impact or add value for people affected by stroke, working with others to experiment and learn.

Support for Children: Independent Child Trafficking Guardians support children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support in line with their needs. 

 Within this role some of your responsibilities will be: 

• Supporting professionals, including Social Workers, Police, Youth Justice Teams, Foster Carers and Residential Support Workers, to identify children exploited through modern slavery and refer them into the Service 
• Provide advice, guidance and information about child trafficking and initial safety planning to professionals through 1:1 case consultations or attendance at multi-agency meetings 
• Develop initial needs assessments and action plans 
• Support practitioners from partner agencies to meet the needs of children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented and passionate team of Dementia Advisers in Greater Manchester.
Within this role you will be providing dementia knowledge and expertise across Stockport, working in close partnership with the memory clinic and other providers. The role will include offering support within a hospital setting, supporting people after a diagnosis of dementia and having a presence to offer information sessions and networking with hospital staff to increase awareness and encourage referral and engagement.
The role will include facilitation of our popular Singing for the Brain group on a fortnightly basis.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity of providing support, information and guidance to people with dementia, their carers and families, supporting them to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, putting them in more control of their lives.
The Dementia Adviser service is unique to everyone, based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support in a variety of ways to include in people’s homes or various locations within the community, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will also support people to access other services, providing signposting and referrals.
About you

- Passionate about supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being by enabling them to take more control of their lives.
- You have some knowledge or personal experience of dementia and the challenges people affected by dementia may face.
- Experience with communicating with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding at all levels.
- Able to network effectively and collaborating with other professionals to achieve a positive outcome for people.
- Experience of managing and supporting people within a group setting.
- Good IT skills, including experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).
- Ability to organise your own work to ensure it is accurate, meets quality targets, deadlines and reporting requirements.
- The ability to travel across Greater Manchester independently as often as required

What you’ll focus on:

- Providing a person-centred and outcomes focused information and advice service to people affected by dementia and their carers.
- Identifying people’s needs and the services they may wish to access, giving advice about how to live well with dementia and support the improvement of their sense of wellbeing.
- You will be community based which means working from home and spending time in the community completing home visits, attending networking meetings and promoting our service at events and occasionally giving dementia awareness talks to groups.
- You will aim to reach people affected by dementia from all communities and work hard to ensure your service is inclusive.
- Working with a variety of professionals from health, social care, voluntary and community sectors. You will build relationships to ensure referrals into our service, and you have knowledge of services and support available for people with dementia and carers living in Stockport.

As Learning Hub Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate all services within the Learning Hub, ensuring they are of high quality, innovative and safe, meeting the learning needs and outcomes of the students and users who access them. You will plan the delivery of services and learning topics and will assess student places, ensuring that student’s needs are met by delivering unique learning experiences with evidenced achievement of outcomes. You will provide support to a dedicated team of frontline workers, as well as volunteers, and will work in partnership with a range of agencies and local organisations to promote the service.

You will have experience of managing services, staff and volunteers, and will have a working knowledge of EHCP process and post 16-25 transition pathways.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the Marketing and Events Manager (M&EM) with creating, organising and managing CWC (The Care Workers’ Charity)  events as needed (from conception to realisation including all promotional materials and online promotion).
• Source, design (where required) and manage collateral needed for conferences and events and work closely with colleagues to produce leaflets and flyers
• Assist in implementing CWC’s marketing strategy, including social media, SEO, and email campaigns.
• Help create engaging content for social media, website, newsletters, and marketing materials.
• Manage the charity's attendance at trade conferences and sector events either face to face or online (Organise furniture, marketing collateral, hotel accommodation and travel as needed)
• Work closely with CWC colleagues, using opportunities for wider networking to encourage fundraising
• Support the organisation with organising and running Professional Care Workers’ Week
• Assist to create and maintain an events calendar for the CWC that encompasses a range of fundraising events and awareness raising events

• Support the team to recruit and manage volunteers who can support specifically with events, either online or in person
• Get feedback from sponsors and supporters and work with them to improve processes and understand how sponsorship and supporter engagement can develop
• Update the charity's fundraising channels’ information (i.e. Enthuse and Just Giving) to encourage continued engagement, and as a way of engaging fundraisers
•  Provide video content for our fundraising platforms and social media, including case studies from care workers who have been supported with grants by CWC
• Attend conferences and events as required, across England and occasionally in Wales and Scotland
• Engage with CWC’s existing supporters to promote fundraising and understand how they may be best engaged with the Charity.
