We are supporting an incredible mental health charity to find an interim Community Fundraising Officer for a 12 month contract to help deliver a range of community fundraising activities and deliver exceptional supporter stewardship.

The role
This Community Fundraising role is responsible for supporting and motivating volunteers to deliver successful fundraising activities, helping them exceed their targets and feel confident and equipped throughout their journey.
A strong focus on supporter engagement is central to the role, with an expectation to meet and surpass engagement KPIs through proactive communication, timely support, and personalised stewardship.
Data insight is a key accountability, requiring the ability to analyse supporter and campaign performance to optimise journeys, maximise income, and continually improve the volunteer and supporter experience.
The role also relies on excellent relationship building skills, working closely with supporters externally and collaborating effectively with colleagues across teams and functions to create a positive, aligned, and productive environment.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Performance and Insight Coordinator to help us better understand our performance, impact and relationships, and use that insight to drive improvement across the organisation.

Working within our Change and Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in bringing together data, feedback and relational insight from across the organisation and our partners. Airplay is a national youth work programme delivered on behalf of the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF). It provides engaging, supportive, and fun opportunities for children and young people from RAF families.

Role description: 

We are currently looking for a Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to join our Fundraising & Supporter Experience Team. 

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Supporter Experience, the postholder will lead the development and delivery of the charity’s philanthropy and partnerships strategy, translating organisational ambition into compelling propositions, high value relationships and sustainable income growth. 

Leading a small, committed and recently established team, the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships will build on early successes to define future direction, strengthen capability, and scale income from major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners.  

This role offers a significant opportunity to shape and grow a developing function and play a pivotal part in enabling Yorkshire Cancer Research to deliver its ambitious growth plans and achieve its vision of a Yorkshire free from cancer.  

Specifically you will: 

• Lead and work in partnership with relevant Fundraising Managers to develop and deliver Yorkshire Cancer Research’ Philanthropy & Partnerships strategy to the charity’s mission, values and organisational strategy.

• Provide clear strategic leadership across all high value, aligned income streams, including: Philanthropy, Trusts and foundations, Corporate partnerships, Strategic and multi year funding partnerships

• Ensure the philanthropy and partnerships strategy aligns with, and complements, the public fundraising strategy, delivering a coherent overall income approach. 

To be considered for this role, you will need to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and have significant experience leading high-value fundraising and/or partnership income streams, with evidence of delivering significant and sustainable income growth.

This is a senior support post of essential importance to allow the Dean, Chief Operating Officer, Chapter and committees to develop and maintain an effective system of governance for the Cathedral with adherence to the highest standards of good governance practice. This will include relevant regulatory and legislative requirements such as supporting the Chief Operating Officer with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies including the Charity Commission, Information Commissioner’s Office, HSE, the Parish and Companies House. The post holder will work across Cathedral teams to ensure robust compliance and risk management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the Whistleblowing Officer and assist in the working of the Whistleblowing Policy;
• Maintain the declarations of interest and gift registry records;
• Assist the COO in keeping a log of complaints under the Complaints Policy 
• Lead the co-ordination, preparation, planning and follow-up for meetings and other committee work associated with the governance of the Cathedral including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Nominations Committee;
• Arrange and manage the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and parish clerking duties;
• Assist the COO with returns, reports and filings for statutory bodies, the Cathedral's insurers, Association of English Cathedrals etc; 
• Assist the Dean and COO in their governance responsibilities under the Care of Cathedrals Measure 2021;
• Support the COO in the coordination of risk management and Health and Safety Compliance across the organisation; 
• Support data protection compliance across the organisation, working with the Cathedral’s GDPR consultants
• Secretariat support for the Health, Safety and Security Committee meetings
• Develop, monitor and review Cathedral policies and systems to ensure compliance and best practice
• Work with the Cathedral HR team to devise and monitor a regular training schedule to ensure best practice and compliance
• The post-holder will assist the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer where needed with administration, DBS checks and training requirements and records.
