The role

CAIA is seeking an organised, efficient and friendly Centre Manager to be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of CAIA’s building, the Hayashen Centre, and the organisation’s overall administrative systems and processes. This is a varied and meaningful role where no two days are the same; it will suit someone who thrives in a hands-on atmosphere and is passionate about community impact.

Main Purpose of the role:

Mental Health Case Worker

We are looking for a Mental Health Case Worker to manage a caseload of clients and provide support to those experiencing both financial and mental wellbeing issues and develop resilience and manage their mental health more effectively. 

This will be in collaboration with Citizens Advice as they provide the client with financial advice and guidance.

Project

The free Financial and Wellbeing Support Service in Epsom and Ewell combines the specialist mental health support with expert benefits and money advice from Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell (CAEE) to support clients during a difficult time. This three-year project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The Role

• Increase financial resilience and independence.

• Improve overall mental and/or emotional wellbeing.

• Reduce stress and anxiety.

• Increase engagement with local community and local services

• Reduce social isolation.

• Help clients to feel more informed about how to manage finances and wellbeing in future.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work in partnership with the Citizens Advice to support people with their mental health who are experiencing financial difficulties.

• Manage a caseload of clients.

• Work with individuals and their carers around their mental health and social circumstances.

• Create a non-clinical person centred support plan around the individual, guided by the individual’s needs.

• Cultivate relationships with, and work with, other services around social wellbeing support for clients.

• Work with clients as the lead professional involved in their care, bridging to other services and opportunities and working closely with other organisations already involved.

• Aim to remove practical and physical barriers that arise from lack of resource at the community level.

• Assistance with accessing services (such as Community Connections).

• Advice, information, and signposting, including clear information about what support is available locally.

• Collecting reporting and monitoring data, providing case studies.

About You

You will have a minimum of 2 years community experience of mental health and wellbeing, and/or a qualification in appropriate subject i.e., counselling, psychology, social work, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3)

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary)

• An understanding of confidentiality, consent, information sharing, including GDPR.

• An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.

• Good communication and written skills and a commitment to ensure accurate and confidential record keeping.

• Ability to interact effectively with the clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.

• Ability to work to all the policies, procedures, and standards of the service and joint working arrangements with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team of geographically dispersed Operations Officers to support the operational delivery and development of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) across Scotland.

Operations Officers directly support a variety of Licensed Organisations (LOs) comprising mainly of schools, but they also work with other organisations including colleges, local authorities, charities, pupil referral units, youth groups and young offender institutions. The Operations Manager role involves managing, coaching, and supporting Operations Officers to undertake their role and building strong partnerships to increase DofE’s engagement across communities in Scotland.

As a DofE country team, our focus is on building capacity within our licensed organisations to support more young people to engage with DofE and on identifying and stewarding strong partnerships within local communities to increase engagement with DofE, particularly within those communities who face barriers to participation. Line managed by the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Manager is an active and engaged member of the Scotland Leadership Team, which is chaired by the Scotland Director. The Scotland Leadership team is responsible for developing and delivering the Scotland business plan and strategy in line with UK wide and national strategic goals.

The role will be field-based and when not attending meetings, employees will work from home. You will need to have an appropriate home office set up and live within Scotland.

About the Service

This is an exciting and reasonably new project, ‘Flourish’ – Mental Health for Refugees in Hertfordshire, which is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine & other refugees in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.

The countywide holistic service also provides emotional wellbeing support for families who are hosting refugees.

The Flourish Team Leader plays a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Flourish service. This role is key to the development and support of the team and the wider organisation.

Service Objectives

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Services Manager with effective running of the Flourish service.
• Mange a caseload of up to 3 clients
• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing.
• Line manage staff and where necessary volunteers.
• Maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
• Lead a team of Flourish Outreach Workers. Ensuring the team are using databases and outcome tools as required to report for the project.
• Promoting the service, increasing visibility and being responsive to changing needs.

The role is focused on driving evidence-informed policy and practice in palliative and end of life care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply research experience and passion to make a significant impact on the lives of people affected by dying, death, and bereavement.

You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the associate directors with ongoing and new research projects, including data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), preparing manuscripts for publication, and creating academic posters for research conferences
- Conducting or supporting research such as scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and qualitative or quantitative analysis, and summarizing information to inform research and policy work
- Developing summaries and impact reports from funded Marie Curie research and other research that supports Marie Curie's ongoing work
- Organizing events and conferences, including the annual Marie Curie Palliative Care Research conference, and planning new local conferences and workshops focusing on knowledge mobilization and quality improvement
- Providing general administrative support to the research team, including arranging meetings, taking minutes, and tracking actions

Key Criteria:
- An interest in end-of-life care research.
- Experience in undertaking or supporting research, including literature reviews.
- Highly motivated, positive, proactive, and solution focused.
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload, work calmly under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective team member with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent administrative and IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based databases.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with Marie Curie staff and external stakeholders.
- Qualitative or quantitative research skills and experience of presenting research and capturing data in compelling ways.
- Experience of supporting committees, organizing meetings, and taking minutes.
- A degree that includes a good grounding in data analysis and research methods, or equivalent skills learned in the workplace.

About the role 

As a Community Development Worker, you will provide support for resettled refugees to help them access and establish community links, helping deliver our strategic ambitions to be inclusive and collaborative.

This exciting Senior Content Manager role will lead on the Foundation’s content strategy and the delivery of high-quality content across all our channels in line with our strategic objectives and digital strategy.

The role is a key part of the Doctors of the World (DOTW) UK Policy and Advocacy team, contributing to the implementation of our three-year strategy and maximising the impact of our policy and advocacy function. The team focuses on influencing UK health and migration policy, improving access to NHS services for minoritised communities and populations and strengthening the right to health in the UK.

The post holder will play a critical role in ensuring DOTW UK’s advocacy and influencing work is informed by our service users’ experiences and seeks to bring about the changes they want to see. To this end, the role will lead work with DOTWs expert by experience group, liaising and coordinating different engagement activities, identifying co-production opportunities and supporting members of the group to meaningfully participate in the organisation’s advocacy work and drive change.
