The role
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead our organisational efforts around income generation. The role is ideal for someone with experience in fundraising and/or business development interested in leading the work of a small but impactful and highly respected charity in the health and social care space.
At National Voices, fundraising responsibilities are shared across the organisation, so it is important that the successful candidate is able to work in a collaborative way with others and is just as happy with rolling up their sleeves and writing bids and supporting others to.

While your primary role will be raising funds for National Voices, you will need to be confident in acting as an ambassador for the organisation and in conveying who we are, what we do and the key priorities of our members and people who use health and care.
Responsibilities
Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients
· Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.
· Ensuring we have access to relevant tendering frameworks.
· Maintaining a pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations.
Write and submit bids, and support others to
· In some instances, leading on bid writing – drafting, costing and submitting high quality bids for both project and core funding.
· In other instances, buddying with staff members on bids – carrying out initial call with funders to check fit of projects, supporting with budget development, sharing previous relevant tender responses to support bid writing, supporting submission, leading on the social value response and more.
Support and co-ordinate fundraising efforts of the staff team
· Co-ordinating the triaging and prioritisation of funding bids within the team, in line with our strategic priorities.
· Matching project ideas from across the team with funding opportunities.
· Organising fundraising meetings and ensuring the organisational income generation tracker is up to date.
· Supporting members of the staff team to develop their business development and fundraising skills.
· Providing advice and support to the wider team on compliance with our organisational ethical fundraising policy, the ABPI code, the ABHI code and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
· Maintaining our rate card.
Maintain and develop relationships with prospective funders, clients and organisations we may wish to partner with on funded projects
· Maintaining and developing relationships with grant funding teams at pharmaceutical companies – keeping them updated on our priorities and pitching potential projects for grant funding.
· Alongside other managers and the Senior Management Team, maintaining and developing relationships with development teams at organisations we may want to partner with – consultancy firms, think tanks, research agencies and more.
Manage our partnership scheme
· Take lead responsibility for client management and renewals for organisations on our partnership scheme.
· Coordinate responses to partnership requests within our staff team. Co-ordinate, develop and oversee the delivery of our partnership offer.
General
· Line-manage staff, in the first instance our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer, to include appraisals, setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development.
· Review our income generation approach regularly and making suggestions for improvements, using insights from both successful and unsuccessful bids.
· Report progress on our income generation to the board on a quarterly basis.
· Take a pro-active approach to including our members and people with lived experience in all areas of our work.
· Follow processes set out to measure, monitor and communicate the impact of our work.
· Support good project, financial and data management.
· Contribute to the team’s planning activities and undertake other relevant duties as appropriate.
· Deputise for other members of the team when needed.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

Key Responsibilities – include but not limited to

Overview
At Young Roots, we want to see a compassionate and welcoming society for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.
Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing a whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people.
The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth development programme for young refugees and asylum seekers.
You will be focused on ensuring our programme activities achieve our outcomes, are in line with our strategy and identify areas for change and development under the direction of the Head of Services. An excellent communicator and skilled at working with partners, you will be key in the implementation and running all of our weekly youth activities, including a Youth Club and Advice and Support Hub working closely with the Youth Development Worker and having oversight of our weekly Young Women’s group.
As an experienced manager, you will lead our team of skilled youth workers, working alongside the Brent team to provide holistic support to young asylum seekers and refugees in Brent.
You will prioritise the participation of young people in all activities, ensuring excellent safeguarding by following our policy and protocols, and ensure that we collect excellent data for monitoring and evaluation and to aid our future planning. You will also assist with staff and volunteer recruitment and reporting to our funding partners.
The Youth Development Coordinator will hold a Designated Safeguarding Officer role at Young Roots for which they will receive full training.

The charity is now seeking its first Development Manager to play a pivotal role within this small but ambitious organisation to support with its celebratory anniversary event and longer-term goals. The event will be ambitious, fun, a spectacle to inspire and create a sense of community. The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Service Manager provides leadership for the outsourced service desk, IT supply and Site Service Engineering functions of the DDaT team and is the point of escalation for all Barnardo's colleagues accessing services, incident management and request fulfilment.
The DDaT Service Manager is responsible for the delivery of exceptional Site Service Engineering at over 1000 sites and responsible for the delivery of IT Supply services to over 7000 colleagues across the UK. The Service Manager also owns and operates the outsourced Service Desk via the current partner relationship, working in collaboration with internal technical teams. The Service Manager will report to the Director of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) and is a member of the DDaT Leadership Team.
Continuous improvement of services, ownership of the service catalogue entries, effective self-help documentation and assets, are core activities of the role, alongside ensuring the delivery of excellent business as usual services, and ownership of key transformation initiatives. We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. In addition to administration support, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using XERO and our CRM.
You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.
You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:
Financial operations and record-keeping
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 5300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. Job Purpose
This role is responsible for managing BSR’s day-to-day financial activities, leading on financial planning and reporting, and supporting financial governance. Job Title: Travel Trainer
Report To: Laurence Orrell, travel training coordinator
Salary: £13.85 per hour
Location: Travel within the North London area as required

Context of Job
AFK is a national charity helping young disabled people develop their independence and find employment. As part of this we provide bespoke travel training on London’s public transport network to and from school, college and work placements in the North London area.
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates to train and support young people to travel specified journeys safely and independently using public transport.
Overall Job Purpose
To train and support a young person to travel a specified journey safely and independently using public transport. Record your observations and give feedback to the travel training coordinator, the young person and their family. To take part in reviews of training as it progresses.
Working Conditions
- Casual working assignment with no minimum hours guaranteed
- Each assignment must be mutually agreed by both parties
- You will be expected to work mornings and/or evenings as required by the job and we will also consider job sharing for this role.
Responsibilities
- Support a young person door-to-door as they travel on public transport.
- Familiarise yourself with the following documents –
- Journey Plan – describes the route you and the trainee will follow, and the alternative route(s) if the need arises.
- Risk Assessment – outlines the support needs of the trainee, and risks and strategies to mitigate them.
- Record your observations using standardised forms and relay your observations to the travel training coordinator on a weekly basis.
- Allow the young person to learn independently and only guide, support or intervene when necessary (this will be included in your induction)
- Approach travel training in a positive manner by reinforcing achievements and viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn. Discuss strategies and agree solutions with the young person, their family and the travel training coordinator.
- To contact the travel training coordinator immediately if there are any emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Ensure that the young person is trained to use the alternative route safely and independently.
- Ensure that the young person learns and/or knows how to contact parents or carers in case of an emergency
- Any issues or concerns must be raised with the travel training coordinator or the business development manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- Learn the support needs of the young person prior to training
- Become familiar with the route
- Become familiar with and then follow AFK’s safeguarding policies and procedures
