This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Queen’s Award winning charity supporting unpaid carers in the London borough of Redbridge. You will give advice and information to carers and work closely with them to develop person centred support plans. You will work within a Community Support Team to deliver peer support groups, wellbeing activities, advice surgeries, outreach and events across the borough.
If you have experience of 1-1 support work and of providing advice and information, particularly around welfare benefits, this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for someone with an understanding of carers issues and experience of working with people from diverse communities. This is a varied and demanding role requiring good communication and time management skills and a common sense approach to helping others. As a Logistics Officer you will play an integral role in IHP’s work arranging the shipping of donated medicines and medical supplies, for example our essential health packs and antibiotics, ensuring their secure transportation to diaster hit and vulnerable communities such as Sudan and Gaza.

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for Global Black Thrive involvement in the Culture of Care Programme liaising with the Lived Experience Advisors, the Race Equity Lead, Neurodiverse Connections, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and NHS England.
This will include HR, Operations and Admin functions relating to the Culture of Care (CoC) Programme and will include managing systems to efficiently run the business and achieve strategic objectives agreed by Black Thrive Board of Directors.
The role will be the first point of contact for our CoC team, organising travel and accommodation, managing HR and office queries.
You may be involved in managing onboarding and offboarding, preparing employment contracts (Full-time and/or part-time, zero hours and/or fixed terms contracts), checking and following right-to-work in the UK, and administrating DBS checks.
You will be working with the HR and Admin Manager in Global Black Thrive and may be required to assist in wider team activities where required.

This is an excellent opportunity to truly make a role your own and get involved in the project from the start, which will be supporting 10 adults with mild/moderate to severe learning disabilities, as well as additional mental and physical health needs.
You will play a pivotal ambassadorial role, spearheading Centre’s 404 service expansion into the London Brough of Brent and bringing our expertise, vision and values to families in need.
This varied and dynamic role will lead on the set up, coordination and provision of excellent person-centred care and support to service users, enabling them to live independently in their home and be supported in all aspects of day-to-day living. As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support to meet individual needs. You will also contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of support workers.
The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and coaching a team supporting people with learning disabilities or another vulnerable client group. Experience of supporting people with high and complex support needs would be an advantage. Main responsibilities
- Provide a trauma informed and restorative practices involving the supported individual, devise, review and update developmental support plans, record events and observations and keep appropriate records as require in the service
- Support and contribute to the resourcing of interventions for residents in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the individuals personal developmental support plan, risk management plan or service protocol
- u To induct residents into the accommodation, ensuring the terms of the licence agreement is understood and all health and safety issues fully explained
- u In line with Housingn related policies, provide support in a way which equips individuals and with the confidence and skills to live more independent and sustainable lives, both in services and within the wider community.
- u Develop and maintain professional working relationships and good communication links with supported individuals, families/carers, recovery communities, service partners, funders and other stakeholders
- Attend and contribute to individual’s Support Reviews with partnership agencies
- To be confident in lone-working and to adhere to the Lone-working policy
- To have a full understanding of fire safety and evacuation procedures
- To be proactive responsible to safeguard adults, young people, and children at risk of harm in accordance with local and national guidelines and procedures. This includes showing a commitment to promote organisation-wide awareness and understanding of safeguarding, undertaking best practice, and carrying out our legal and moral duties to respond to related concerns, disclosures, or allegations appropriately
- Take responsibility for own personal development and learning and participate in on-going training as directed for the maintenance and development of relevant skills required within the job role, including attendance at team meetings and respective supervision meetings
- Communication with line manfgement as well as undertake other tasks which may from time to time be required by the Chief Executive and Senior Management
- To respend/attend to emergency situations that arise in other support YMCA East Surrey supported accomodations and have a full understanding of the on-call process
- To cover the front reception desk of an evening and take any incoming calls and communications
- Continuously contribute to service development and improvement.
DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose:To undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering high quality support and personal development opportunities to young people in our supported accommodation. To flexibly respond to individual needs and assist individuals to have the maximum opportunities to direct the support in order to live as independent as possible.
Providing structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each young person’s developmental support plan and in a way that equips them with the confidence and skills towards living independently and sustainable.
Hours of work: 30 paid hrs per week (3 hrs unpaid lunch break)
Friday:5pm – 4am, Saturday: 5pm – 4am, Sunday:5pm –4am

Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.

About the Role
The CEO will provide leadership to Embracing Age and to be responsible for the management and administration of the charity, in partnership with and reporting to the trustees. You'll lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers, whilst upholding and developing the Christian ethos, vision, mission and values of Embracing Age, along with the strategic objectives and priorities.

You’ll be a strategic, passionate person with a big heart for the older generations and a desire to mobilise churches and communities in coming alongside them. You’ll be a friendly, confident individual with good communication and organisational skills who is looking for a part time flexible role.
