Student Network Catalyst (Impact Champions)

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Be at the heart of building a global, student-led movement for educational equity. We are launching 'Impact Champions' - a worldwide network of student societies tackling local education challenges. We need a catalyst to help us find and empower the founding leaders of this network.

In this role, you will:

• Develop creative outreach strategies to find and recruit the most passionate student leaders, starting in South Asia.

• Build and nurture an inspiring online community for our first cohort of leaders, connecting them with each other and our mission.

• Help shape the support system for these new societies, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to create real-world impact.

• Your work will directly lead to the creation of new campus hubs for social change, empowering hundreds of students to become leaders in their own communities.

Weekly Time Commitment

Events Officer has the responisbility of organising (along with the help of a Trustee Events Manager) our magical visits to children/adults with LD, this could be at the hospital, social groups, refugee centres, libraries etc etc.

They will monitor the chapter email for submitted event booking forms (some of these will come from events organised by the Events Manager on Trustees). These will then be added to the calendar and advertised to volunteers. They will ensure each event organised has a handful of volunteers confirmed within a week of the event itself. They will then provide information and support to a Lead Volunteer to run the events. They will ensure that regular events are being attended by volunteers and that they have the costume and materials that are needed for these. They will follow up after events to ensure social media posts are made, hours are uploaded and that costumes are returned. They will ensure that all volunteers are attending events.

What does ‘NEUROMANCE’ mean?

To NEUROMANCE means to 'fall in love with divergence'.

The mainstream healthcare system fails our community by labelling neurodivergent+ people 'defective' and 'disordered'. 

NEUROMANCERS seek to provide an alternative. Instead, we fall in love with divergence. Our traits are neither 'curses' nor 'superpowers'. We are simply people surviving a society that oppresses and excludes us in the best ways we know how. 

NEUROMANCERS is here to support you, at whatever stage of the journey you are on - by providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care, by us and for us. 

What is ‘neurodivergent’?

Neurodivergent means 'to diverge from the expectations of neuronormativity'. We use the term neurodivergent+ to include those under and adjacent to the neurodivergent umbrella.

NEUROMANCERS work centres neurodivergent individuals, with particular emphasis on those who are also Black and/or LGBTQ+. 

We know that many people who are severely impacted by neuronormativity and ableism may not specifically identify as neurodivergent. Therefore, our term neurodivergent+ acknowledges these extended and adjacent groups.

What are the benefits of volunteering?

About the Role

The Administrative & Operational Coordinator Volunteer will provide essential support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of NEUROMANCERS. This role involves handling administrative tasks, financial coordination, and operational design to improve efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative Support:

  • Manage straightforward administrative tasks (e.g., contacting people, making phone calls, sending emails, making queries on behalf of the organisation and the Founder).

  • Assist with proofreading and editing documents.

  • Handle contracting for guest workshops (inputting key details into pre-written contracts and ensuring they are signed).

• Financial Coordination:

  • Support basic financial management (e.g., tracking expenses).

• Operational Design:

  • Develop and implement systems to streamline repetitive tasks and improve organisational efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within volunteer teams and individual workflows.

  • Designing and outlining visual representations of workflows and systems for accessibility.

Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale are reaching out to find new volunteers to help our older clients stay in contact with the outside world. Many older people remain alone at home for long periods of time, with only the TV for company. You can get out into your community and help an older person combat loneliness and isolation.

Partnerships Development Officer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Foundation First Ghana is a nonprofit dedicated to giving every child a strong start in life. Through our PreCARE Initiative (Preschool Care, Feed, Educate, and Empower), we provide meals, uniforms, school kits, and teacher training for preschool children in low-fee private schools across Ghana.

We are seeking an Online Volunteer Partnerships Development Officer to help us strengthen our fundraising and partnership efforts by leveraging their networks, skills, and creativity to connect us with potential donors, partners, and sponsors globally.

Key Responsibilities

As a volunteer, you will support Foundation First Ghana by:

• Researching potential donors, foundations, and CSR opportunities that align with our mission.
• Helping draft or review proposals, partnership pitches, and concept notes.
• Sharing our campaigns (such as our GoFundMe drive) within your networks and encouraging support.
• Connecting Foundation First to relevant individuals, organizations, or grant opportunities.
• Advising the team on donor engagement strategies and partnership management.

Requirements

About It’s Time:

It’s Time is a charity created by and for young adults who have experienced the death of a parent. Founded by people who know this grief first-hand, the charity ensures no one aged 18–35 has to navigate such loss alone. Through peer-led support, events, free group therapy, and tailored resources, It’s Time offers connection and understanding during an often isolating time. The charity also partners with universities, workplaces, and families to promote better bereavement support - recognising that grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and the help offered to young adults shouldn’t either.

The charity was founded in 2021 and we now run local peer support groups throughout England, have a year long waiting list for our group therapy and supports around 500 people in the online community.  We recognise that as we grow our needs and those of our community are changing and are looking for someone skilled in charity growth to steer us into the next phase of our development.

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, strategic, and inspiring leader to join us as Chair of the Board of Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a growing charity, providing governance, leadership, and support to a committed Board and passionate staff team.

As Chair, you will play a vital role in steering the organisation toward maximum impact for our beneficiaries, holding the Board and senior leadership to account while acting as an ambassador and public face of the charity.

Time Commitment:

Overview

In partnership with a second, and possibly third Leader, you will lead a Fire (Group) of 8-12 Young Explorers. Social Leader role is to ensure that all young people can develop and thrive on our expeditions. They provide additional support with pastoral care and behavioural management for young people, particularly those facing challenges. Social Leaders will have demonstrable experience of working with young people in residential environments.

We are looking for applicants who are:

Time expectation

Our volunteer fosterers usually spend around one and a half hours per day (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care.

Unfortunately, thousands of cats each year are abandoned or have strayed and rely on charities like Cats Protection for help. Becoming a trap, neuter and return (TNR) volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Local TNR programmes are crucial, as feral and abandoned cats present a huge challenge for communities across the UK.

You can expect us to

• Cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Trapping cats using humane methods
• Taking cats to local vets to be neutered 
• Returning cats to their territory or finding a suitable alternative

The role might also include:

• Regular feeding of feral colonies
• Promoting neutering by building relationships with farmers, land owners and local businesses
• Liaising with vets to promote and arrange neutering 

Time expectation 

This is a flexible role and the hours will vary depending on the number of cats identified for specific TNR campaigns. Our current TNR volunteers spend about 2 to 3 hours per week in this role which can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
