The post-holder will play a key role within the Initiatives and Partnerships team, working with regional teams to develop and implement proposals to expand use of historic churches in our existing estate and, on occasion, working with other heritage and community groups to deliver their own projects via consultancy or partnership work.   

 They will manage a programme of work that will include a number of site-specific projects and national initiatives across multiple sites, as well as from time to time working with third parties on partnership or consultancy projects.   

The Commercial Initiatives Officer is responsible for the development and delivery of CCT’s commercial initiatives, including Champing and Filming, that involve multiple sites, as well as any future such schemes. The role will line manage the Customer Service and Admin Assistant, Champing who is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Champing. The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues in conservation and regional teams to make sure that impacts on both areas are fully considered, whilst in tandem seeking to maximise opportunities to expand and increase commercial activity, income and ultimately profitability.

This new role will support the fundraising team, working closely with the Head of Fundraising, to provide full administrative support across all functions of the department. Administrative Duties:  

This person will play a key role in administering certain financial duties and assisting the Head of Finance and Resource with their reporting duties, keeping the organisation running in a smooth and efficient manner.

To work with the team to coordinate excellent service delivery and support for volunteers and service users in line with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Snowdrop Project. • Developing compelling propositions

WAST’s current priorities include delivering wellbeing activities (with a focus on trauma-informed approaches), running asylum information workshops, and strengthening our campaigning group. As Project Coordinator, you will help develop and manage initiatives that support these priorities. About WAST

Women Asylum Seekers Together (WAST) is a grassroots Manchester-based charity led by and for women who are seeking asylum and currently has around 170 members. WAST was founded in 2005 by one of WAST’s current board members, whilst fighting her own anti-deportation campaign, and became a constituted charity in 2014.

We provide a safe, supportive space where women can come together to build community, gain confidence, access peer support, and advocate for their rights. Women are at the sharp end of the ‘hostile environment’ with punitive government immigration policies and practice. WAST enables a process of empowerment through which women gain the confidence and strength to voice their experience and campaign for justice.

WAST is a place of hope and belonging with its core values of compassion, respect, inclusion and empowerment and its continuous development of its trauma informed peer support approach. WAST is proud of its pioneering work giving a voice to women seeking asylum and inspiring other women around the country to set up similar groups. WAST has been at the forefront of national campaigning against detention, has published three books and created two plays, giving voice to women’s experiences.

WAST runs weekly skill-building and wellbeing activities, a weekly drop-in session where women can access signposting and referrals to services, and a variety of external events throughout the year. Activities are identified and led by the WAST Management Group, elected by the membership and supported by WAST staff. WAST’s current priorities, as identified by the management group, include developing asylum information workshops, a range of wellbeing trauma informed activities, and advancing the campaign group.

Duties

• To provide legal advice and casework assistance and give appropriate advice and support to clients, managing your own caseload and making applications for public funding as required.
• To liaise with landlords’ and other parties’ representatives, solicitors, other agencies and groups as required.
• To ensure that all casework, advice, and assistance complies with the requirements of the organisation’s processes, accreditations and, where publicly funded, complies with the requirements of the Legal Aid Agency.
• To collate evidence and work in partnership with other advice providers locally and regionally to influence the development of policy and legislation in relation to housing and domestic abuse.

About St Giles Trust

Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

County Lines is a phenomenon in which criminal drug dealing operations are expanding their operations outside of the larger cities, taking over drug markets in smaller towns. Gangs target vulnerable children and young people and coerce them to transport and distribute mainly Class A drugs into areas where there is less police presence, less competition and high demand for their product.

About this exciting opportunity

This pivotal role will see you referring clients, with reference to St Giles Trust/Rescue and Response assessment practices. You will also need to produce support plans and risk management and planning process, and to include appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.

You will also deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues, which will include providing social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work, debt advice, and appearing in court. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with regional agencies including police and social services is a key aspect of the role.

What we are looking for:

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
• Experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people
• Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and communicating effectively, the needs of clients to other professionals
• Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office, and the ability to work with a case database
• The ability to use and develop monitoring systems to record all aspects of the project
• Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding practices and policies, and ability to promote safeguarding among vulnerable clients and colleagues.

The Role

As Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a central role in helping Winning Scotland deliver sustainable growth by identifying and securing new income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory and government funding, and public sector contracts.

Working closely with programme leads and the senior leadership team, you’ll research, prioritise, and secure funding opportunities to support the charity’s ambitious growth plans over the next 2–3 years. You’ll also develop strong relationships with funders, write compelling funding applications, and provide excellent stewardship and reporting.

You’ll focus on growing income from institutional and corporate sources, while senior leaders continue to manage high-value individual donor relationships, allowing you to concentrate on developing strong pipelines and managing effective bids.

About You

You’ll be a skilled and motivated fundraiser with a solid understanding of the Scottish and wider UK funding landscape.

You’ll have:

• A proven track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, corporates and/or statutory sources
• Strong bid-writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex programme work into persuasive proposals
• Excellent relationship management and stewardship abilities
• The capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Ideally, you will also bring:

• Experience of strategic, high-value fundraising in a small or growing charity
• An understanding of issues affecting young people and youth-focused sectors
• Experience using design tools (e.g. Canva) to create professional proposals and reports
• Knowledge of international funding sources such as the US and Europe
