The project is delivered through funding from Islington Local Authority and will will include advice and casework for residents of two Asylum Support hotels in the borough. The project was initially funded to respond to an urgent need for specialist legal advice to assist with asylum questionnaires and has since expanded to support with a range of different advice issues including reinstatement of asylum claims, Asylum Support challenges and appeals work.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues faced by migrants at risk and refugees/asylum seekers. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.

Aside from the 50+ young people we see every day at our day centre, New Horizon’s Outreach service also works with young people on the streets and in the community. The team works pan London to deliver a unique, youth-specific outreach service to young people currently or at risk of rough sleeping. We use our extensive housing expertise to place those young people into accommodation that is appropriate and safe whilst encouraging them to access the day centre to benefit from the wide range of services we offer. ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Children and Family Worker to join the team in our West London Women's refuge. The service is a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. we are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children.
As a Children and Family worker, you will support in providing a much needed safe and nurturing environment for children and their mother's, providing pathways, support and appropriate interventions to enable resettlement. You will support various teams to co-produce a tailored support plan which is altered to the individual's needs through a recovery model providing trauma informed and enabling environments to achieve this.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, working on a rota which is over 7 days including evenings. You will be based on site within the service.

Children and Family Relationships
- Provide parenting advice to support mothers and their families.
- Provide stimulating play opportunities to encourage children from all backgrounds to develop and express themselves, as well as support the children with their general learning, homework, and literacy.
- Support with early learning development, supporting mothers through advice and activity packs which aid their children’s learning and development.
- Deliver family sessions to support contract orders by social services and other organisations, as well as to help rebuild relationships, life skills, confidence, reliance, self-esteem and manage trauma.
- Offer age-appropriate sessions to children to provide a safe, encouraging, and development led environment which provides meaningful and memorable experiences.
- Work with residents and their keyworkers to understand complex needs to help build children’s and their families lives.
Support Working
- Build and sustain trusting and respectful relationships with our residents, including children.
- Create a safe, stable, psychologically informed environment which is nurturing to children and families.
- Provide support for residents, contributing to the development of support plans, risk assessments, reviews, regular support sessions and other personal development activities.
- Support with reducing barriers to reintegrating into communities, and re-developing confidence, skills, and coping mechanisms to support those with previous trauma.
- Develop and sustain therapeutic relationships with our residents, providing practical and emotional support with a trauma informed approach to ensure they are always treated with respect and dignity. Deal with sensitive information in a professional manner.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attend appointments as and when required in support of residents.
- Undertake shift lead responsibilities on rotation, taking responsibility for ensuring day-to-day support delivery is effective, with staff carrying out their designated responsibilities, alongside ensuring resident and service-specific follow up actions are completed.
- Housing Management responsibilities, ensure residents and staff are safe, and the surroundings are kept clean and well maintained.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds
- Previous experience and/or in-depth knowledge about working with children who have experienced trauma
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
- Understanding of the trauma children and families may go through due to domestic violence and other previous experiences
- Understanding of the social needs and support required for people with multiple and complex needs
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with various challenging backgrounds, mental health, addiction, exploitation, homelessness, and previous convictions
What we would like, but not essential:
- Previous experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care planning, providing appropriate interventions for service users
- Previous experience providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential support role
- Appropriate Professional Qualification in: Social Care, Early years Education, Certificate in Childcare or other relevant
- Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health
- Ability to Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Waking Night Concierge to join the team in East London to support clients medium to high support needs in a supported accommodation setting.
The hostel offers a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. In this role you will provide overnight waking cover for the service. You will be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding our clients at night including dealing with emergencies. Other duties include carrying out regular health and safety checks, monitoring the CCTV system and various administration tasks. There is also an element of the role which will be ensuring the environment is kept to a high standard.
The rota for this role is 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 10.30pm to 8.30am each night of working.
About you
To succeed, you will have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of people with complex needs. You’ll also have the ability to establish an effective working relationship with these clients, be client centred and possess an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. A good level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your own initiative are also required.

As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. We have an exciting opportunity for a Homicide Family Caseworker to join our team, you will be based in Northumbria and Durham working 37.5 hours a week. The team you will be joining within the Homicide Service covers North/North East.

About the role:

Outreach Worker - Romanian Speaking
- Full time, 37.5 hours

Responsibilities:
- To be accountable and responsible for providing high-quality outreach services to individuals who are rough sleeping.
- To bring about long-lasting, sustainable change, give clients that engage with an efficient needs-led service.
- Make frequent outreach shifts to locate and get in touch with people who are rough sleeping, verifying information and gathering data to help them move on.
- Make sure that evaluations and assistance programmes are pertinent to the Roma population and suitable for their cultural context, enabling them to interact with existing resources.
- Form alliances with other groups and organisations, speaking out for the rights of Roma people on welfare, immigration, and other matters when needed.
- Assist assigned clients in determining their requirements, making appropriate assistance referrals, and obtaining suitable housing
- Help customers with their money by communicating with the right agencies and handling things like benefit claims and debt difficulties.
- Must oversee and be accountable for making sure that counsel, assistance, crisis intervention, and future planning are provided in a way that meets the specific requirements of service users.
Experience Required:
- Possessing fluency in Romani or Romanian, or at least speak to a high level.
- A full, clean UK driver's licence.
- Solid comprehension of the Roma populations.
- Previous employment in the social services or homelessness fields.
- Familiarity with data management and GDPR.
- Understanding of the services, pathways, and circumstances that are pertinent to the existing drug and alcohol programme.
- The emotional fortitude to handle difficult behaviour and promote continuous positive involvement.
- Strong IT abilities, including the capacity to record information quickly and accurately in IT programmes like CHAIN and Inform.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and expertise in risk assessment and support planning for clients with complex needs.

Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for people to join our team across England and Wales in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Luton, Milton Keynes, London.
We are recruiting Youth Workers across our delivery locations in England and Wales to join our squad in August for the new academic year. This is a frontline role where you will spend the majority of your time working with young people, building relationships with them and delivering our full programme of activities which includes rugby based activity sessions, employability workshops, career taster days and more.
You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use rugby as a hook and mentorship as an anchor, using our four cornerstones (developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing, focus on mental wellbeing) to develop young people throughout their time with us. We enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.
The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings (including mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, SEN schools, Youth Offenders Institutes, community centres and rugby clubs) working in the school timetable and between 3-7pm. While delivering our interventions is a big part of the job, you will also be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the successful collection of data, managing school relationships and delivering on partnership projects.
You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching, mentoring or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

Are you interested in supporting people at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless?
This exciting pilot is a new approach to preventing rough sleeping, through the provision of accommodation with onsite specialist move-on support to those who are at immediate risk of sleeping rough. The service will provide a route and support for single homeless clients who are presenting to the Local Authority Housing Options or day centres and at imminent risk of rough sleeping, but not yet rough sleeping.
Where their homelessness cannot be prevented by the council and they are at imminent risk of sleeping rough, a referral can be made into the Rough Sleeping Prevention service.
The service will be based across three London locations in Islington, Lambeth and Kensington and Chelsea and staff will be expected to work across all 3 services .
- 7 day rolling rota including early, mid and late shifts
- (K&C): medium – high support accommodation.
- (Lambeth): medium support accommodation.
- (Islington): Assessment hub space for up to 15 clients. Site will operate 24/7.
Each site will have staff delivering casework and support, providing each person with a comprehensive assessment of their needs and circumstances, and intensive specialist support to secure move on.
The service will work in partnership with the local authority to secure onward move-on options e.g. access the council PRS scheme, advocating for access to supported housing.
As an Assessment and Reconnection Worker, you will:

Be part of a busy team environment working closely with those new to, or at risk of rough sleeping.

Provide a personalised case management service to clients, turning assessment recommendations into practical action plans which fully involves the client.

Build and maintain effective relationships to support clients throughout their recovery.
About you
These roles will suit people with experience of working at pace in a public facing environment with the ability to adapt to new situations; as well as:

An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
