As Support Worker, you will provide a range of administrative support for a range of projects across the organisation. You will:
- Carry out administrative tasks to aid the delivery of projects and services
- Undertake a range of correspondence activities across the wider organisation including dealing with post and correspondence, typing, scanning, copying and filing, in accordance with established systems and procedures.
- Phone and engage with clients to book appointments, carry out triage assessments, assess the outcomes of their involvement with the service.
- Assist with the input of confidential financial and human resources information.
- Communicate with clients, staff, volunteers and external organisations using email, telephone, webchat, social media, and other digital methods.
- Support the Communications Officer to create publicity materials including posters, other ad hoc publications and to publish information on our social media channels
- Support and line managing volunteer support worker including carrying our their supervision and appraisal sessions
- Undertake training to ensure that knowledge and skills are maintained.
- Prepare for, attend and take meeting minutes.
- Support the wider Support Worker team, with reception duties at our venues
- Carry out fire marshall and first aid duties
- Ensure Data Protection and other mandatory training is completed on an annual basis.
- Ensure all work conforms to Citizens Advice Wirral’s systems and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the aims and policies of Citizens Advice
- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.
- Recognise the importance of safeguarding procedures within the organisation. Ensure that any concerns, disclosures or allegations of abuse are immediately reported, following the correct procedure.
- To attend occasional out of hours events in conjunction with the work of Citizens Advice Wirral and participate in fundraising activities.
- Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1 Ability to write clearly and accurately, communicate effectively face to face, on the phone and digitally
2 Ability to and the flexibility to manage a varied workload, to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
3 Ability to maintain established administration systems and records with a keen eye for detail
4 Ability to use a range of digital systems including Google Suite
5 Numeracy skills to effectively work within established systems
6 Ability to take a brief, ensuring tasks are understood and then work independently
7 Experience of working with volunteers and service users
8 An understanding of the Aims and Principles of Citizens Advice Wirral and a commitment to Equity and Diversity

We are looking for six client-focused Support Time Recovery Workers to join our new Wigan Crisis Space service, supporting local residents experiencing emotional distress and mental health challenges.
Wigan Crisis Space is a new service providing a safe space for those in distress and struggling with unwanted thoughts and feelings. Looking to improve mental health and wellbeing, we connect individuals to a range of services to reduce low mood, anxiety and loneliness, develop new skills and ensure their voice is heard.
Our STR Workers provide low-level calming interventions and one-to-one support to help people identify the causes of their emotional distress and put in place a support plan that includes signposting and referrals to other appropriate organisations and services.
The ideal candidates will have an awareness of mental health conditions, experience of building strong relationships with people and excellent listening skills. The ability to develop trust with those accessing the service is key to supporting them to achieve their recovery goals and desired outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop trusting relationships and provide short-term one-to-one appointments that offer practical and emotional support.
• Carry out initial ‘getting to know you’ conversations, working with individuals to plan their support and achieve the goals and outcomes that are important to them.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of local services and organisations that can provide support to improve wellbeing.
• Ensure regular and robust case recording and risk management in line with quality standards.
• Complete referrals to ensure people accessing Wigan Crisis Space have the appropriate support networks around them.
• Support and facilitate group activities that promote wellbeing and recovery as part of our prevention agenda.

Role Details
• Salary: Starting at £25,221 FTE per annum, rising to £27,780 FTE per annum (£14,314.62 to £15,766.02 per annum for 21 hours per week).
• Location: Wigan Crisis Space, Crompton Street, Wigan, WN1 1YP. Office-based and wheelchair accessible.
• Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week. The role includes evening and weekend working on a rota basis.

Young People Support Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Young People Support Worker to help young people overcome challenges and build greater independence.
Salary: £26,436 per year
Location: Warrington
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

About the role
Join Depaul UK and become part of a supportive team working to create brighter futures for young people experiencing homelessness and other challenges.
As Young People Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people who may have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse or the care system. You will build positive relationships, develop tailored support plans and help young people develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to move forward.
Key responsibilities include:
· Completing risk and needs assessments and developing outcome-focused support plans
· Providing one-to-one and group support to young people
· Supporting clients to access education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities
· Working with local agencies and statutory services to provide joined-up support
· Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety and emergency procedures are followed
· Encouraging young people to participate in decisions about their support and wider activities
· Preparing accommodation for new clients and supporting them to settle in
· Working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers
· Participating in a rota that may include unsocial hours, weekends and lone working
About you
You will have experience of working with young people or people who have experienced homelessness, along with an understanding of some of the challenges they may face.
You will also have:
· An understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse or the care system
· Knowledge of risk assessments and support planning
· A clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
· Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
· The ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
· A collaborative, flexible and reflective approach
· A commitment to equality, diversity, dignity and respect
