You will ensure that adult and young carers, as well as their wider families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support tailored to their specific needs.

• Sector Knowledge: An understanding of working within the substance misuse field and the associated health and social issues.

• Experience: Preferably, experience working with both adults and children/young people.

• Qualifications: A professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience delivering family-focused interventions.

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You’ll also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.

You will be someone:

• Who works in a person-centred way.
• Is enthusiastic, empathetic and detail conscious
• Communicates well by phone and in person
• Has an understanding of social care particularly in relation to carers
• Has experience of working with clients who have support needs
• Has experience of producing reports for monitoring and evaluation
• Is numerate and has knowledge of budgeting
• Is able to gather and assess information efficiently and think creatively to come up with solutions.
• Has good communication skills including spoken, written and presentational

Main Duties include:

• To provide a regular telephone support-line, face-to-face and email support, offering appropriate, generic advice
• To offer a range of service delivery options and be involved in providing those options e.g., breaks, group work, leisure activities or other outreach activities
• To encourage and assist carers and those they care for to access Care Needs Assessments and Carers Assessments and to take up services that will enhance their lives
• To complete individual grant applications with carers for respite or if they are experiencing financial hardship due to the cost-of-living crisis
• To work where appropriate with other service providers/agencies to promote the carer agenda or jointly deliver carer support issues
• To be proactive in the registration of carers living or caring for someone within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
• To keep accurate records of group and individual carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
• To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public

We are looking to recruit a part-time, 14 hours per week, Community Support Worker to join our established and dynamic team. This is a fixed term role until April 2027, with potential to become permanent.

This is a community-based role involving regular travel across the Cardiff or Vale of Glamorgan area including local meetings and direct support with the flexibility to work from home based on business and community needs.

What we are looking for:

We would like to welcome an approachable and knowledgeable Community Support Worker to work with people affected by early onset dementia. This is an amazingly rewarding and varied opportunity to provide 1-2-1 support to individuals, so they are able to build confidence and engage in activities they enjoy. This could be as simple as going for a coffee or visiting a local area of interest, to supporting them to successfully navigate public transport to access medical appointments or their preferred and loved activities (and maybe find some new experiences along the way!).

We promote a person-centred service so that our support is unique to each individual, based upon their own aspirations and needs. We provide information and support in people’s homes and at locations across the local area.

What you would need:

- An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers.
- Resilience to be able to listen and empathise with individuals during, what can be, and incredibly difficult period of adjustment and personal challenge.
- Strong communication and listening skills to deliver personalised support with a non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage the support of individuals effectively.
- Great relationship building skills to make trusted and beneficial connections within the organisation and external networks.
- Ability to provide information and support in people’s homes and at locations across the local area.
- Experience of working in a care or community environment.
- Good IT skills to update computerised medical reports.
- Be able to travel independently across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Important Information:

There is no ‘direct care’ element to the Community Support Worker role.
The role is based within the community across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, and you will be required to travel across this area (this a prerequisite for the successful candidate).

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Main Duties include:

· To provide regular emotional support to young carers and their families through a range of methods, offering appropriate, generic advice

· To provide individual support to young carers, and sibling young carers on a case-by-case basis towards established outcomes through delivery of a mentoring programme

· To be proactive in the identification and registration of young carers, which will include conducting internal assessments of their caring role and responsibilities and identifying support needs

· To support with the planning and participate in the delivery of young carers group activities and events

· To work with schools, voluntary organisations, statutory services, health services and others to raise awareness and identify young carers

· To keep accurate records of group and individual young carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes

· To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

This role involves empowering clients to manage their health, wellbeing, and independence by identifying strengths and achieving goals in partnership with subcontractors. You'll support their engagement with community professionals, clearly explain service pathways, and co-produce group activities and peer networks. Responsibilities include promoting client safety and participation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring confidentiality. You'll assist with tenancy management, including rent collection, arrears, and voids, while helping clients build independent living skills. Working flexibly within the team, you'll  also support health and safety, property maintenance, budgeting, and efficient use of resources under the Team Leader's direction.

You will bring a good understanding of health and safety within an accommodation-based setting, with the ability to monitor and maintain the safety and security of a supported housing service and report maintenance issues appropriately. Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills are essential, enabling you to produce clear written communication and maintain accurate records. We're looking for a kind, empathetic and resilient Support worker to join our Homelessness and complex needs Service in Kensington & Chelsea.

£30,784.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

Staff are expected to work 8 hours daily on a shift rota basis. This will include weekend working. Shifts are 7.30am to 3.30pm and 2.00pm to 10pm.

The fixed term contract is for 6 months.

Our Family Support Programme

We launched our Family Support Programme in September 2025, initially as a three year pilot working with families across Wandsworth, with aims to be able to expand and continue the service beyond this. About the role

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our new Family Support Service, supporting families initially across our partner schools in Wandsworth (with the aim of expanding the service beyond this over time).

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative early help service from the outset, working within a small, dynamic team to make a tangible difference to the lives of children and their families. As a Family Support Worker, you will deliver flexible, hands-on, and therapeutically minded support to families facing multiple and complex challenges.

You will build trusted relationships through home visits, school meetings, and practical support - empowering parents and carers to strengthen routines, manage behaviour, improve attendance, and access services. As a Trainee Project Worker/Young Person's Worker, you will be based within a project team, working directly with clients or young people to build trust, create safety and support meaningful progress. Whether you are supporting adults or young people, you will play an important role in creating a consistent, encouraging environment where people feel listened to, respected and able to move forward.

As a Trainee Floating Support Worker, you will travel across London to meet clients in their homes and communities, tackling housing issues, supporting health and wellbeing, and helping them achieve personal goals. The work is varied, fast-paced and deeply rewarding, with every shift – whether early mornings, late evenings, weekends or bank holidays – bringing the chance to see real change happen.

In return, you will be part of a comprehensive and engaging Trainee Programme, with support around you from day one. You will learn through trainee-specific workshops, formal training, reflective practice, service visits and hands-on experience alongside knowledgeable colleagues across SHP. Over the course of the traineeship, which usually runs for up to 9 months with the possibility of fast-track at 6 months, you will build skills in areas such as housing, benefits, mental health, safeguarding and recovery-focused support. As your confidence and practice grows, your salary will increase at six and nine months, recognising your development and achievements as you build a meaningful career helping people move from homelessness and crisis towards safety, stability and independence.
