Job Title: Substance Misuse Worker
Location: Catford, Lewisham (Approximately 11 minute walk from Bellingham Station - Thameslink and Southeastern rail services) - The service works across two properties which are located in close proximity to each other. This service has step free access.
Salary: £29,000 (Full Time Equivalent)
Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 3 days a week which can be discussed directly with the hiring manager at interview
About the role
We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker who has a specialism in mental health and substance use to join our team in Catford. You will be based within a 24 hour service which provides enhanced rehabilitation support to adults who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. Within this role, you will provide specialist knowledge and experience to support the wider team and residents to help them to overcome their personal barriers.
You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:
- Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
- Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
- Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
- Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
- Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.
About you
We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. - Full knowledge on comorbidity and complex needs, able to share knowledge, skills, and experience with others
- Previous experience in a similar role, providing interventions and holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental health challenges

Creative Support is looking for warm, caring, and proactive Relief Support Workers to provide person-centred care at our respite service in St Helens. The service provides planned respite care for adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and physical and sensory disabilities.
Thyme Lodge, a modern detached house in Clockface, offers a relaxed, homely environment with 5 en-suite bedrooms, a communal lounge, conservatory, sensory room, and an open-plan kitchen and diner. As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised care, helping service users develop friendships and learn new skills. Activities include day trips to Blackpool, local safari parks, and picnics, as well as annual events such as summer fairs, BBQs, and Christmas parties.

The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of one service in Berkshire (Slough) which supports one individual to live in his own home.
The individual is a sociable and engaging man with a warm sense of humour and a deep appreciation for nature, music, and familiar company. He lives with a diagnosis of moderate learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, psychotic illness, epilepsy, and type 2 diabetes, all of which require thoughtful and consistent support. The customer has been living successfully in his current placement for over ten years, where he benefits from the continuity of staff who know him well, understand his routines, and help him maintain a sense of safety and autonomy.
The role will provide line management for a team of seven Specialist Behaviour Support Workers, ensuring that compliance with organisational, legal regulations and those of the local authority are adhered to and the quality of support is of the highest standard possible, ensuring excellent quality of life for the customer and a good working environment for colleagues.
The service has received a CQC rating of Good. The current team size includes 5 FTEs (Specialist Behaviour Support Workers) plus 2 FTEs Waking Night Support Workers, ensuring comprehensive support coverage across all shifts.
The working pattern for this role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional requirements for weekend and out-of-hours work to meet service needs.
The anticipated start date for this role is October.
The initial contract duration is 6 months, with potential to become a permanent role after this period.

Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Adults Peer Support Worker to join our busy Peer Support team. You will have your own lived experience of mental health issues and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge to support others.
RB Mind has run effective peer-led services for many years. The role will be supported by RB Mind Senior Peer Support Workers, and the Peer Support Coordinator in South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG). With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We offer holistic and personalised care and support to service users.

To be considered for the role you will need to be able to:
• Do your share of weekend shifts, sleep-ins, waking nights and bank holidays.
• Be physically fit and able to move freely and physically and to support service users who may be physically dependent.
• Have a supportive attitude and want to help individuals to maximise their lives.
• You must be able to support people with Learning Disabilities who have different ways of expressing themselves
• Be eligible to work in the UK

Salary: £13.85 per hour.

We are seeking caring, reliable and responsive Relief Support Workers to join our team providing person-centred care and support to older people and adults with support needs within an Extra Care Scheme in Penge, Bromley.
Extra Care housing enables older people to live as independently as possible in a friendly, inclusive and safe environment whilst receiving the care and support they need. We want our service users based in Bromley to lead active and positive lives and to be supported to enjoy physical and mental wellbeing. You must be able to engage positively with service users based at our Bromley service and their families to build trusting relationships. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to provide respectful personalised care.
Previous employed care and support experience of at least 12 months is essential for the role of Relief Support Worker. We will appreciate your life experience, caring approach and personal qualities as well as relevant skills and experience.
This position enables you to pick up shifts at a time that suits you, and is ideal for fitting around personal commitments, study or caring responsibilities.
As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country and provides information on the service and shifts, including directions. You will be paid weekly.

Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to
individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking to add an Acting Senior Support Worker to our team in Accrington, Lancashire.
We are recruiting a proactive, motivated, and professional Acting Senior Support Worker to provide person centred support to our residents with a range of support needs, primarily learning disabilities. No two days will be the same at this service as we support our service users to follow their passions and engage in a range of activities including: movie nights, gardening, board games, arts and crafts and many more!
Senior Support Duties include:
· Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users.
· Enable service users to gain independence, confidence and competence in areas such as: social skills/relationships, personal care and hygiene, daily living and many more.
· Assist service users in the administration and monitoring of prescribed medication following the Scheme’s Medication Policy.
· Offer support and supervision to junior staff, relief staff, students and volunteers as appropriate, under direction of the Supported Living Manager.
You must have at least one years’ experience in supporting people with learning disabilities.
